UK is on its arse! Oh F U, where are you when we need you so? Clegg, Cameron, maybe you should watch this series - it might just show you how to govern our country properly.
@Vesman1 I dream of a House of Cards/ West Wing Crossover. My Favourite Prime minister and Favourite President in fiction mentally sparring, thank fully the dates of their terms should sync up yo allow it! :)
There was 'A Very British Coup' and the House of Cards trilogy. Both were about political assassination. In one there was a very left wing Labour PM and in the other an evil Conservative PM. There should be a third political assassination series focusing on the Liberal Democrats. You don't necessarily need to be the governing party for political intrigue.
no i think he would have become satan, toppled the old leader after files were left in bars and dodgy share dealings were discovered. there again, who can say? perhaps Satan wasn't getting his view across in the right way!
The most remarkable thing about House of Cards and successors is that whenever Urquhart asks you to condemn him, you can't, somehow, even though you know what he did is wrong in any way.
Dude he started a war so he could b remembered, killed school girls, and reintroduced conscription, forced the abdication of the monarch who was trying to help the nation, lied, cheated and murdered. If he'd been a real politician he would have been worse than Thatcher
So typical of British politics in general. Ian never played villains very much but when he did, he was the baddest

So he was elected after Jim Hacker's historic rule in the 1980s ?

Does anyone know the name of this song? Or where to get it?
manicMarvolo 1 year ago
@manicMarvolo I think it was specially composed for the series. I could be wrong, though.

If they did a fourth installment it would be Francis Urquhart in Hell that would have been awesome FU minion of satan!

He'd probably end up running the show down there knowing him

Brilliant series, brilliant Ian Richardson aswell!!
What a sneaky, backstabbing person he played.
It's a real shame mr. Richardson has passed away so soon. Hats off for him.
