The other is very pale, turning white and is about half the other fellas size... Should I be worried? Is my other pleco starving the smaller one? D:

  • Did you get it as a baby if you or anyone knows how long from a 3 inch baby .and how big in a 10 gallon tank that I will sometime move into a twenty five gallon

  • All mine used to do was suck on a hunk of floating driftwood. All day long. Well, until I put a fake volcano in the tank. She fell in love with it. :)

  • The secret of the universe r cucumbrs

  • Lol

  • how big do these fish get

  • @binturong1000 i have seen them get to 19n inches in captivity.

  • @binturong1000 In really depends on the size tank you have them in.

  • I bought my pleco when it was about 3 inches and grew to about 10in in 8 months

  • How dos it get like dat? Tell me de secrets

  • @GhillieSniper115 He liked cucumber.

  • :o ! Holy Shiite

  • It's so cute xD

  • I have had a plecostomus that I got when it was about an inch and a half now its 11 inches, I have had it for 2 years.

  • can you tell me what yours or any pleco eats other than tank algae because once thats all gone then what i want one for my 10 gallon because in my 20 gallon he would be bullied by my crayfish or bluegill please helpthe 10 will only be for him

  • @pitbull0592

a 10 gallon is way to small for any pleco ,not because they grow big but its not good for them as there body wont grow as much and that can kill the pleco after a while ,i would advise you too take it back to a store or give it to somebody , but anyways they like to eat cucumber , algae wafers , and any fish food that will sink to the bottom of the tank really

  • Mine is now 7 years old. He/she is now about 35 cm large.

  • Beautiful fish! What a shame!

  • Pleco are a big money maker buy them at about $3 £3 and as they grow you can sell for up to £200

  • I have had my Pleco named "Killer" for over 3 years. He is so content and He is the calmest fish I have ever seen and I can pet his head without fear.

  • I think this is a good video to let people know how big "common plecos" can get. If you have a small tank, and need algea eaters, think of purchasing dwarf or fancy plecos that stay about 5 -6 inches!

  • wtf it died in 18 months? dayum... seriously that fucking sucks they can live well over 20 years too. you should try raising them as babies it takes long to grow big but i had my sailfin pleco for 5-6 years its at 16 inches right now still healthy too.

  • Just to clarify everyone he was 15 inches long when we got him, we had him for 18 months until he sadly passed away.

He was prob upto 10 years old when we got him.

  • @QiiBy Hey man get this, i bought a baby pleco (not baby, but small) and it dies in 2 days. And none of the fish were even bothering it. Poor guy.

  • We had two of them in a 20 gallon tank, but they were getting big, so we gave one away. Finally we had to give away our other one because he was getting to big for our tank and was not vleaning it anymore. Petsmart said after a while they get lazy. My sister took it home to her 50 gallon tank, she grabbed it with her bare hands.

  • You should've held a ruler to the tank so we could see :( make another vid

  • Comment removed

  • @Eliskuya he blinked you just cant she the other eye...

  • so sweet how old was he?

  • beauty!

  • odd on a 18 month death cause they can live up to 30 years at least i believe

  • 0.0 wth 18 months and it's that big!!! i had mine for like 3 years and it's maybe 10-15 inches my tank is small and i just feed it flakes ): tried apples didnt like em.

  • plecs always die on me

  • very nice pleco

    look my 2 plecos plz

    watch?v=Gjb22TZv1kI

  • He's a BIG sucker!

  • 0:28 i jizzeed my pantss

  • is it expensive feeding that pleco?

  • No, they eat algea so you end up with a clean tank, I also suplimented his diet with cucumber. sadly he died recently.

  • dang dude he only lasted 4 months? im sorry about your loss dude. I have one thats about 5 inches in my 55G i hope he lasts awhile lol

  • We had him 18months.

  • @legocrazy1234

Aww, sorry for your loss. :'(

  • @legocrazy1234 I don't want to say you starved him, but you probably starved him to death. A 15 inch pleco would eat an entire Zucini every week. He was really looking for food in your video, where normally if well fed they just chill during daytime. Hopefully he just died of old age, but I have heard their average life span is like 20 years.

  • @NICHOLASandJAMI Hi he was always eating, plenty of plec poo in tank.

  • @spedhead218

when they get really big they dont eat alage anymore and just eat normal food

  • He's A LOVEY FISH! Just As A Matter Of Interest How Much Does A Pleco That Size Cost? I Would Think A Lot Of Money

  • @ninjabluewings I sold my 14 inch to a guy with a pirahna tank for $110 (US dollars). It outgrew my 55 gallon so now i'm sticking with bushynose plecos that only get 3.5". :) Hope I helped with your question!

  • Hey Thanks For The Reply, Yes It Does Make Things A Little Clearer For Me Now, So That's Around £55 In English Money Then. We Have These Fish In England And I Think They Would Cost More Over Here Than £55 So That Guy Had A Bargain. I Would Have Thought That Other Fish Can't Live With Pirahna Unless They Are Pirahna Too

  • @ninjabluewings I just had to get rid of him because he was taking up a lot of room and his offer was $110 so I just went with that. Pirahnas don't really harm fish that are twice as big as they are and to date, a year and a half later, the pleco is doing fine.

  • Oh I See, I'm Glad He Is Still In One Piece. I Find It Quite Interesting To See Video's On Here With These Pleco's Attacking Other Fish, I Always Believed They Were Good In Community Tanks, I Suppose With All Breeds Of Fish There Are Exceptions To The Rule

  • @ninjabluewings Actually if you look up "pleco attacking piranhas", it almost appears like it is the more aggressive fish.

  • Thanks he cost just £30

  • Now That's A REAL BARGAIN! I Must Say, Sorry To See He Has Passed On, You Must Be Very Sad About It Coz I Would Be. I Love All Kinds Of Fishes

  • ive seen bigger one than that in a asian restaurant it was with a king kamfa i couldnt believe it lol my first time seeing a king kamfa in real life

  • cant w8 for my to be that big

  • My pleco sticks to the floor and there is barely any algae in my tank..

  • coo~~l !!!

  • Wow!! :) Awesome!

  • plecs are awesome, must be proper rough where they come from lol cause they are one of the toughest fish i have encountered

  • 0:39 I never seen a pleco not attached to anything.

  • yep. mine does the same thing, if hes laying on an area of gravel that lifts him up a little. lol. they just kind of hang out

  • You should see MY plecos, they mostly stick to the floor.

  • Wow he got big quickly what do you feed him?

  • i have a 17in for only like 6 months i got it when it was like 9in so a big headstart ^^

  • That seems unlikely. But it'd be cool to see a video of yours! I've had a rare albino sailfin pleco for about six years now. Bought him at 2 inches and he's almost a foot long now. Maybe it's because mine is a different breed that he's grown so slowly. My dads common pleco grew to about 19 inches over the course of 14 years. Yes, they live that long and longer!

  • lol i would but my mom won't let me use her camera

she thinks im gonna drop it and break lol

  • funny because you have videos uploaded.....

  • Yes, had hin a year this month. 16 inches long now.

  • is he still alive?

  • Its just a common plec.

  • what specie is this i might care for 2 in a 400ltr but what specie is this???

  • 300ltrs

  • May I ask how big the aquarium is? Thats very cool though! i love them my koi fish wont touch them and they look very very cool

  • Youngsters...

    I got a Acanthicus Adonis.

Grows alot bigger than this one, but i got to say looks very nice for his length good colouring.

  • mine is 3 months old it is 7 and a half inches still growing

  • mine is at the 10 inch mark and is still growing

  • I have a 2 year old pleco that is over 14 inches long. Hope yours sticks around just as long and mine is still growing. Keep him in a 75 gallon turtle tank with some convict cichlids.

  • Do you have any idea how long they live? I had one for 13 years and it died last year. He(she) lived in a 10 gal for 8 year, then moved to a 20 gal for the last 5. He was fat, healthy, and was not sick until the last 2 days before death.

  • That depends on many factors such as diet and water conditions. Best thing to do is google it.

  • You really should read before you comment, I shot this footage 8 months ago and hes doing just fine thank you.

  • Pleco's are my fav fish! I have Kissey, she is almost 8 years old and is a foot long. She is under the weather right now, I'am treating her though. Hope she lives another few years. Great video.

    Debra

  • why do the ystick to the glass

  • Plecos are the coolest fish ever.

  • were do you get a big pleco??? my turtle keeps eating them

  • You get a medium one then grow it to a larger size

  • I'd say keep it in a seperate tank until it gets big enough or just buy a big one... plus most of the pet stores around here sell large, medium, and large. Just get a large one.

    Beautiful fish lego!!! :)

  • teehee i got one thats 3 inches muajjaa XD

  • Big barb!

  • that fish is pretty huge XD

I have a pleco that's only about 2 inches long haha XD

  • that will eventually change.

  • sadly it died :( Lol

  • 300 ltrs = 65 uk gallons.

  • what gallon is a rio 300?

  • SWEET!
