They don't mention the main ingredient they've added to FSC cigarettes: ethylene vinyl acetate--a plastic-type adhesive that makes some people very sick with it is burned and inhaled. The risks of cigarette smoking are known; for the government to intentionally make smoking MORE hazardous is outrageous.

A petition would be cool...but I'd settle for some vocal outrage. One of the reasons this kind of stuff keeps happening is that most smokers can't be bothered to complain about what's being done to them. I've done the calling and writing thing, but until I'm not part of a tiny minority of smokers, I'll just be dismissed as an outspoken nut rather than a citizen with a legitimate problem. Rolling my own here too--I haven't smoked a factory-made since the day FSC smokes arrived in stores here.

Fire safe cigarettes are probably more dangerous for your health, because of the polymers that are used in the cigarettes that are untested on humans. Even with the Harvard medicals studies, it's hard for me to belive that the fire safe cigarettes are not that much more of a risk and they can always come back and say "Well it's already bad for your health and you know that".
