I think that My Bloody Valentine is underrated. Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger take most of the credit for being the best slashers but I think that My Bloody Valentine is 100 times better than Jason and Freddy or any of the other slasher films.

I didn't watch it in theaters I rented the movie and watched without the 3D aspect to it. I thought the movie was really good. I never saw the original. I think this had a good story. I love the horror genre and grew up watching scary movies, so I don't think Hollywood can up with ways to truly scare me anymore but they are getting better at getting that lovely visceral reaction out me.

This remake was.....................ok. I have a much greater appreciation for the 1981 original because the cast and crew actually filmed the movie in the abandoned "Princess Coal Mine" and really had to work hard during production. The remake is all blue screen background and props. Too many horror remakes these days that keep failing. I guess Hollywood is really losing it's creativity in horror cinema and all these new horror directors can't come up with their own ideas. Very sad indeed!
