I listen to his song a lot, and have slowly been piecing the story together. This is about a man who is going to be drowned in a sack by a crazy family, is it not? The person singing is trying to get along with them - "and I laugh with them, not sure what at" - but it does him no good. Then, when the drums come, that's them pushing him into the lake, perhaps?
