It's interesting that the key sequences are conducive to quick typing. The right hand does most of the work, and letters at the extremities of the keyboard are never used - Q,P, and L are never used, and Z is only pressed once. Heck, half of the bottom row isn't even touched!

Look a little closer, you'll realize that 813 is the number of japanese characters that he typed, not words. Also he never has to use shift, there are no upper case characters in the japanese language, no space, as there seem to be no spaces. The person only has to type characters, with every second being a vowel. If he'd have used a Dvorak layout he'd probably have done it even faster. Either way tho, the's probably not faster than a typist in a western character set.
