  • One time my mom put one of my parakeets on my face while I was sleeping and he pooped on my face 3 times lol

  • i wish my birds were fun. all they do is poop on me and bite me.

  • @funinthesun35

if it's any consolation: he poops on me too ;-)

  • I got a new budgie 3 days ago and I also didn't get him as a baby. So I want him to play with something fun but I can't think of anything... What toys did u give your budgie and what can I do to make him play with them?

  • @xXeleven34Xx

he prefers table tennis balls & caps of bottles but you can you use anything small (but not too small so he can't swallow it)

  • He looks like my bird<3

  • They look funny when they run...

  • @Showbeyond its funnier when they hop around.

  • And another thing, my birds may be stressed? In the morning they usually race each other around the room, but then they would change, into a boring mood. I want them to be happier. They don't have many toys but im going to put more. Anything i should know?

  • @champsinger

maybe they need an afternoon nap ;-) I don't think they can have too much toys. The only thing is our budgie flies around and he throws his toys under the closets and makes one hell of a noise when we won't give it back to him lol

  • could you give me some tips on taming my budgie? i didnt get them as babies so its harder. i taught them the step up trick, but some times they just coose to fly away. in the morning there usually hiper. in the middle of the day is when they usually let me touch them.

  • @champsinger

I taught him everything with a plastic budgie - by letting the plastic budgie do the things I wanted the real one to do :) Given your feedback you should try to train them in the afternoon. It's more difficult because you got them later on + you have multiple budgies, 1 is easier... But hey, if you can touch them and they do the step up that's already something cool :)

  • @emmanuel12345 yeah, i have 3 in my house, and mine sits on my shoulder, flies to me when its lost, cheeps when i leave, when i open the cage it flies onto me, i only had it 2 days, ive spent nearly 20 hrs, wake at 8, play, sit, whatever till 9 or so. and he loves it. . :)

  • @courtielover

lol your patience is admirable :)

  • @emmanuel12345 thank you very much, 3rd day now! and he cant stop talking to me and refuses to go into his cage and leave my shoulder Lol

  • I gave mine a tech deck (mini skateboard [like budgie size]) and a ping pong ball and he goes mental. :p

  • @JessicaFaaaith

    that's definitely worth a video :)

  • @emmanuel12345

Yep, I have tried to film them but the second they see a camera they freeze and start budgie hyperventilating until i put the camera away xD

  • omg ur parakeet is sooo sart and sooo cute

  • ur parakeet is very smart, how long did it take u to train it???? =]

  • @paoladelaflor

thanks :) about one week to make him less afraid of humans and the rest of his life to train him not being naughty ;-)

  • he obviously likes ur hand soo much !!!

  • @roodeyx

    I think it's a fetish ;-)

  • Happy budgie :-)

  • @muckraker87

give him a ball and a wheel and he goes bananas :D

  • budgies need a partner they cant live alone they need some one to talk with

  • ilive in a apartment by myself and im thinking ov gettin a budgie .are they easy to train and do they make a good companion lol ive give up on women t the moment plz could you give me any tips thanks

  • lol. They're fun companion and demand a lot of attention (biting the paper if you're reading it, etc...)! If you only have 1, they're very easy to train. I put a plastic budgie in the same cage and let him show everything the real one should do first ;-) The problem is that you have to be at home a lot if you only have 1 because otherwise they become lonely and bored. If you have 2 it becomes more difficult to train them because they focus on each other instead of on humans.

  • @emmanuel12345 Yes that is true, but the budgie is a lot more happier with a budgie friend.

  • bad song choice sorry :( I LOVE THIS VIDEO CAUSE THE BUDGIE

  • sometimes the birds are really very smart. I am surprised for it

  • its easy to train 1 onli..but i have 6 and its hard!! LOL they wont pay attention to YOU

  • let them train each other ;-)

  • I think the sweet bird has you very well trained!

  • It has taken him some time but now I am fully house-broke lol

  • Nice video. Good to see you spend time with your budgie.

    BTW, he has pretty colors.

  • thanks! I only have 1 so I'm obligated ;-)

  • my indian ring neck also loves playing with a ping pong ball he goes insane for it

  • they should form a tag team ;)

  • I LOVE THE WAY THEY RUN FUNNY

  • I agree! Like pinguins on speed :D

  • dude

my birds would just get out of the ring LOL

  • but that would be the end of the fun...

  • i just have a little problem with my little baby! its seems like he's scared of going on the floor!! and when i try he starts flying all over the place and i have a hard time to catch him after!!

  • mine prefers the ground :) I suggest that you give him some time, also before trying to catch him... in the end he will become bored and fly to his cage himself. I never try to catch mine I just wait until this happens :)

  • yeah, but make sure when u try ur cieling fan is off. my friends had the same issue and he had his cieling fan on and guess what happened....

  • lucky me i dont have any ceiling fan in my home!!!

  • me neither :)

it's true that when you have a budgie, you must be aware of some dangers, but it's the same with children :)

  • my budgie likes to play with his ball to but i never thought ov putting a ring there . he also loves to peck my camera/phone,, weird

  • it was to prevent him from always throwing the ball all over the house :) but alas he succeeds in throwing it over the wheel now

  • Yah my little baby loves to peck at my camera too!!! probably because its shiny! lol

  • OMG how did u get ur budgie to LOVE u so moch. that was soo cute, u just put ur handthere and it went 2 you. i have 2 chase my budgiess ( male and female )

  • I only have one budgie and they get more attached to humans when they don't have any other budgies around :)

  • that is so cute! im trying to make my budgie do stuff like that. whats this song, Icecream (my budgie hahaha) hasnt stopped chirping all the way thru!!!

  • maybe you should try it with the song ;-)

it's called "When the lights go down on the broken hearted" and it's a song by Novastar, a Belgian band

  • are his flight wings clipped?

  • no, otherwise he couldn't fly on my head :-)

  • zeg, is die parkiet nog aan t rentenieren ofzo? wanneer een volgende film?

  • i didn't know these little birds could be so cute! i'm used to more furry animals....lol

  • he loses enough feathers as it is! :D

  • mine is inside a big cage i cant put them inside our hosue because they are almost 40

  • 40 budgies?? that must make a hell of a noise :D

  • tell ur budgie that for me u both are the stars in the video heehee^^

  • I like your budgie too hahahhaha 8D

  • I LIKE UR EYEZZZZ *_*

  • my budgie is complaining now that HE is the star in this video ;-)

  • thanks 4 helping me!!! now my budgies are doing something doing that, and now they dont get bored!!! subed =)

  • you're welcome! an entertained budgie is a healthy budgie lol!

  • he looks happy!!!! so cute!!1

  • cool xD

  • err my budgie wont go any lower then 3/4 of a metre high. its only a baby and its probally natural instincs.i can use help all its got is a bird swing a bell and a mirror.seems ok with those but i need a bigger cage or create a play area for it when its flying freely

  • Well, mine flies freely in the living room, but that's not very clean so a bigger cage is the second best option I guess :D They do new stuff one step at a time so just wait a bit more and in no time you'll be thinking about the good times when he was still a good budgie lol

  • Got a cheeky, friendly and curios budgie named Neo - he can make all kinds of sounds that me and my boyfriend trained him in. He´s 5 yrs now - a lovely bird. Got a younger budgie too, 2 and a half yrs old. It´s a female, Trinity, took us a pretty long time to earn some trust from her. She bites a bit, but friendly, happy and curious as well. Love them!

    Great vid!

  • It's quite obvious where you've got the names from ;-) It took us also some time to gain the trust of our budgie, but it was worth it! :D Good luck with yours!

  • Actually it´s not from the film Matrix from the beginning. The world "neon" in swedish means a bright, lightning colour as my little malebudgie got - he´s "neongrön" (bright, lightning green). But then my boyfriend had to name the female to Trinity - because of the film. Yeah, have had a lots of birds, since I was 4 yrs old, almost all of them have been very friendly and I´ve gain their trust. Our little female is a bit spunky, cheeky and got her own character and looks like a blue "furbee".

  • Well, I was right for 50% ;-)

  • Yeah, you were...;)

  • ...I didn´t mean the "world", I meant the "word" btw...a biiiit tired tonight...=P

  • pls reply!

how did u tame him??? pls!

    i am craving to know!

  • hey there, a lot of people have asked me this question before, so I wrote my answer in some of my comments above. Good luck!

  • All you have to do is earn his trust by petting him a while or spending time with him outside his cage :P

  • That's too cute. I had a budgie that played with a ball when I was a little kid. None of my current budgies do that - they just like to play with their mirrors and bells

  • at this moment, he's also less likely to play with his ball now... he has new toys that demand all his attention and the older ones get forgotten ;-) like with kids!

  • whatever you do, don't let him/her watch this video ;-)

  • original idea

  • thanks! but it kinda grew out of itself ;-)

  • Aw so lovely. I had a budgie called Joey for many years. He used to play football with a ping pong ball. Great days :)

  • In that case, you might like my other video: "from hero to zero: a soccer story" ;-)

  • How old is he?

  • at the moment of the shoot he was only 1 year old. So we had some problems with the labour union ;-)

  • SUPER CUTE!!

  • thanks! he doesn't even have to train for that ;)

  • he so well trained!!.....and too cute... -_-;

  • thanks! Oops you were talking about my budgie :p

  • ? woot?

  • okey.. but it would be better if he has a friend, in sweden were i live its unleaguel to just have 1 bird..

  • LOL, that's the first time I heard something like that. The Belgian government can't even control if people pay their taxes like they should, so I don't think they are interested in our birds ;-)

  • what a cute bird u have!! i have 2 budgie birds for the past 3 yrs n i still dont know how to make them play like that!! can u gimme some tips???

  • It's more difficult to tame budgies if you have several budgies! One budgie is easier because he's more 'fixated' on you... We bought a fake plastic budgie in a shop and we pretended to play with it and that the fake budgie liked it. The real budgie was very curious (like all budgies) and soon after that he overcome his fears and did whatever the fake one did (taking a bath, etc.). Maybe you could try that?

  • even if your the budgies friend?

  • is he lonely ?

  • it's my only budgie but there's almost always somebody at home so I guess not...

  • GOOOOD JOB!!!!

  • thanks :)

  • ADD budgie lol

    they all are lolz

  • that's right, there are a lot of similarities! the only difference is we can't dope them :D

  • cute budgie but what the hell is with the lame music it makes me want to curl up and die

  • This is a good idea, must try it. thanks for posting.

  • you're welcome, I hope you and him/her have fun :)

  • i have a budgie that same color. but he doesn't like coming out of his cage a lot. if i bring him out he gets nervous and hides somewher on the back of my shirt where i cant get him.

  • if hes afraid of ur hands he mite av sum past different wich involves hands

  • the good thing is he obviously doesn't have a past with backs ;-)

  • I would use the same tricks as people do with dogs: learn him to associate toys with fun things like food ;-) Reward him with food when he comes when you call him... Then do the same thing when you're holding the toys or when you're playing with the toys yourself. good luck!

  • my budgie is about 4-5 months old and i have had him about 2 months and he is hand tamed he goes on my finger my shoulder and somtimes my head but he is scared of toys like little balls every time i put them near him he flys away he used to play with his mirror in his cage but doesnt any more he likes to stay in high places in my room like the cupboard or my curtain rail and never comes down unless he wants to go back in his cage please advise me on what i could do

  • hi i had ma budgie for abt 1 yr now and i cant get it all trained up lyk dat u rekon u can gimme sum helthy tips 2 get ma budgie trained

  • Only one tip: love your budgie and give it a lot of attention (I always say this ;-)) I think the best way is that you should play with his toys and pretend you're having fun! When he gets curious enough, maybe he will come and play along... just show him you're having mad fun :)

  • my budgie gets very scared around new items and flys like mad, i wud cut its wings but i reckon its cruel, also my budgie bites not that hard but when it gets very cheesed off it duz a power bite which makes me bleed

  • Also when the new items are little and don't move around, like plastic toys? :) I'm not a fan of cutting wings myself: if he wants to fly away (in the house of course), let him fly away I say!

  • same with my big green budgie

  • one budgie always follows another

  • thnx for the advice

  • Hmm, you're lucky. I don't think my birds like me. Wondering if i just should put them away from their missery.

  • if you have a couple of them, it's quite normal that they're more attached to eachother than to humans, so don't be too hard on yourself ;-)

  • Hmmm, okay :|

But what do i do? Do they need me at all? Except for feeding and giving them refreshing water?

I'd sure cuddle with them, but if they don't feel for it, then it's okay for me.

As long they're having it okay.

  • need is a very bad basis for love! but leaving philosophy aside, I'm sure they can be much fun without cuddling , just doing stupid things all the time ;-)

  • Cute bird! And nice carpet!!!

  • thanks! It's a bit more difficult to train the carpet though!

  • :) im getting a budgie any helpful tips? can they live alone :( ??? give me a reply

  • just one tip: love your budgie and give it a lot of attention :) I only have one, but most of the time my parents are there to take care of it... If you live alone and you aren't there most of the time, I would buy two instead... Best of luck with your new friend!

  • One fine summer day a gust of wind was enough to take our budgie away. Hours and hours of searching the neighbourhood and handing out flyers "lost budgie etc..." Far away from our home we heard a tweet. We looked up a tree to find our beloved PomPom looking down at us. We managed to get her down safe and sound.

Clip your budgie's wings. Not only because he can fly away but also because he can hurt himself in the house by flying into or onto something that can hurt him.

  • thanks for the tip, but I still think that they're happier when they can fly...

  • How can you do this? I have two budgies that I bought them one year ago, but they still afraid of other people and I can't touch them. How do you do it?

    THX

  • Well first of all, I'm not touching him, he's touching me, and that's a lot easier :) A budgie has a mind of his own (at least mine has), and you have to know when he wants to bothered and when not. The second thing is that it's way easier when you only have one budgie, because then he gets more attached to you instead of to the other budgie. Third of all, isn't it already an accomplishment that they are afraid of other people but not of you? :)

  • how'd you get him so well hand-trained...???

  • well, it's my only budgie so that makes it easier. That and some patience :) (we thought he was a retard at first but he turned out ok :D)

  • to budgies grow here wings again

  • He is soooooooooooooooooooooooo CUTEE!!

  • I guess he is, Mister Table TennisBall is already complaining the budgie is getting all the attention

  • very cute, they really do have ADD, don't they. LOL does he ever run in the other direction?

  • good question! He does so if I give the ball a little push, but I have the impression he likes it less :) It's a little weirdo right?

  • cute, i saw him fly doesnt he escapes?, i liked the song, whats the name of the song?

  • We always close outdoor windows & doors when he's flying around. I'm not willing to test if he would come back :) I think budgies should be able to fly around (at least in the house ;-)) so instead of clipping his wings it's up to the humans to be careful :)

  • The song is by a Belgian band: Novastar - When the lights go down on the broken hearted. You can find them on myspace, I would put the link here but it isn't possible to put links in comments anymore :)

  • I have a budgie, she likes to toss toys off of the top of her cage, she try's to lifts my finger up and drops it on the keys. She even does that with the mouse to make me click! Her best friend is a rabbit! She's down in the cage with her a lot.She likes to stay up at night and sleep in (if she dosent get enough sleep, she gets REALLY cranky)I love my Laura. She can even say words faintly ("get out tina" is what she says AKA: Tina's my litle sister) Budgies can be the best of birds.

  • Yes, it seems like all budgies get their kicks out of throwing all sort of things to the ground: food, toys, etc. Then you're supposed to pick them up all the time, so instead of you playing with them they're playing with you... If my budgie doesn't get enough darkness in the summer, he gets in his breeding mode or something like that so watch out :)

  • Oh I'v been there. She can be the grumpiest thing or if she wants attention you can't get rid of her. When she doesent feel good, she likes to cuddle under my chin or hair.

  • When he doesn't get my attention, he bites my fingers or ears so you should feel lucky :D

  • aw i wish my budgie was playful:( lol

  • have some patience, you should hang in there till he plays along... just show him you're having fun :)

  • nice tricks for budgie. and he is very cute. I have to try these for my budgie.

  • it aren't really tricks I guess, most of the time he's running after the ball like a madman lol

  • lol if u call running after ball madman how would u call budgie kissing plastic badgie? lol check out my video :))

  • I have the same kind of plastic budgie! You can see it in one of my videos too :)

  • I don't actually have one admittedly. On reflection he is pretty cool.

  • That budgie is a loser

  • it's a budgie. what's YOUR excuse?

  • 7rodney sucks!

  • my sis put that on srry im sure she didnt mean it she was just kiddin

  • don't worry, I've had a "you're a retard" comment on one of my other videos so I could live with this one :D

  • what a lazy bird!! lol

  • he was a bit ill ;)

  • mine can multiply from 1 to 1000 lol just kidding but he eats for two so that's a start!

  • one of the greatest budgies I have ever seen...

    jealous of you :)

  • thanks, but your own seems cool too! Too bad I can't understand Turkish :) It's like budgies have their own language too, since the noises he imitates are way different than mine does...

  • thenks a lot my budgie is a real talker I wish you coul understand but he can say "how can I talk, its amazing" "I love you" "uff its too hot here" "what a lovely bird I am" and he can count to ten :P

  • post es n filmpke als t ie kakt op zn balleke! :)

  • ja, goed idee!

  • hahaha...budgie fetch...

is he the only one u have...cause he seems to love you!

  • yes, he's the only one, in a strictly platonic way of course haha! sometimes he's a bit too fond of me though hmm

  • Thanks!!!!!

  • Whats the song and artist?!! Anyone?

  • yes, me! :p

Novastar - when the lights go down on the broken hearted

  • wait...that is u singing?

  • Errr, no, but I AM nodding my head in a fashionable way to it :p

  • you budgie is fantastic, iv just got 2 babies only had them 2 days, there not scared of my hand but they really dont wanna sit on my finger for long lets hope 1 day if i keep at it theyll hop on just like urs
