  • danielson is a heel here?wow still love him tho

  • Was there an angle behind this? Why did Dragon completely shit all over Az in the match?

  • @bigkev625 I believe this was during his "best wrestler in the world" days of ROH, he was pretty much unstoppable then and lost very rarely.

  • @bigkev625 Yeah, it was called 'Danielson is a dick'

  • Love this technical sq.uash match. I thibk something like this could be a good angle in the wwe. An unstoppable submission machine heel who other wrestlers cannotlay a finger on.

  • @b3ntleg Exactly. It would get him over too. I guarantee it will NEVER happen though...vince hates wrestling.

  • squash meat? lol

  • kingplayboyisback He is in the WWE now and he is US Champ and he is probable going to be WWE Champ one day. I don't really like him either.

  • @barter2056 he is just fantastic wrestler. whether u like him or not he deserve to be wwe champ one day.

  • lol this is awesome

  • WHAT I LIKE ABOUT DANIELSON MORE THAN HIS actual wrestling talent, is his ability to sell his opponent's offense, and make his opponents look good. The guy can have a good match against just about anyone, hell, he even managed to get a decent match out of Dave BOTCHtista

  • please don't tap please don't tap please don't tap please don't tap!

  • Ahhh, Danielson corpsing like hell on purpose, awesome.

  • Danielson recieved world class training from world class wrestlers and people still doubt how good he is? He can get in the ring with nearly anyone and make them look good, plus he can pull off moves seamlessly and has good timing in the ring

  • just hilarious, he is gonna do the same to Miz at NoC

  • It's nice to see I'm not the only Brian Danielson fan here!

  • XD He sounded so playful: "Oh, like this?"

  • I had heard all this shit about Danielson being the greatest wrestler today etc and I have to say that I am so disappointed! The guy sucks and looks like a Animal Liberation Front Commie type of guy instead of a pro wrestler.

  • @SabuMark Your nametag is SabuMark. That means you wouldn't know good wrestling even if it blew a load on your face.

  • @SabuMark He is fantastic wrestler capable of doing amazing moves and entertaining matches. i think u dnt know anything abt "wrestling".

  • pull his hair! lol

  • Credit to both guys, they both made it a lot of fun to watch.

  • what ROH show was this from? and is it still on DVD?

  • bryan danielson is the best wrestler today, no one can stop him, he is a future bret hart

  • @MrDevilFunny no danielson is good, hes the future shawn michaels

  • wat a match db is coming

  • danielson is aweeeeeesome.

  • American Dragon is awesome. "Oh it's not supposed to bend like this?" lol

  • PLEASE DON'T TAP

  • lol

  • everyone has been saying "poor danielson, they are going to water him down/hold him back"

he isnt Matt Sydal who does crazy flying moves, the guy is a mat wrestler, he is PERFECT for WWE. the only thing that is going to change is his character, he wont be allowed to no sell peoples holds... he wont be 'the best in the world'

  • a mat restler is the farthest thing from perfect for wwe ... wwe like giant power houses , OR actors. they done like traditional core wrestlers anymore .

  • really? i kinda think your completely wrong. i think they are after athletic guys who dont take a lot of risks because they will last a long time.

giant powerhouses: batista, HHH, Taker, Kane, Khali, sheamus....

athletic toned guys: HBK, orton, rhodes, dibiase, kofi kingston, miz, edge, christian, bourne, punk, jericho, drew mcintyre, john morrison, yoshi tatsu, shelton benjamin, charlie haas, zack ryder, caylen croft, trent barreta...

but yea, you could be right.

  • nope im wrong , those guys you listed are talented as hell. perhaps what i should have said is danielson isnt perfect for wwe because even though he is just as good if not better then some of the guys you listed. they wouldnt give him main event slots because hes not one of the guys like batista , sheamus ,cena and those guys

but they could do very well with him, make him the next best wrestler in the world like kurt angle was for wwe

  • Are these macthes pre planned like WWE and TNA to as were the company decided who is going to win?

  • Their booker Gabe Sapolsky decided who was going to win.

  • Please don't tap! Please don't tap! haha!

  • Great Wrestling, REALLy enjoyed this

  • That was Dragon's first match before he knocked Christopher Daniels out with the most viscous roaring elbow I'd ever seen.

  • The way WWE is right now, I pray Bryan Danielson never goes. Bryan is too good a wrestler to have to job to Roidtista or John Cena. Plus, scripted promos with a guy who has sound mic skills is ludicrous. Let Danielson continue to be Danielson. No TNA either......anyone who saw Destination X last night would agree with me. Wrestling in WWE and TNA right now is at rock bottom, and I don't want Danielson subjecting himself to that mess.

  • lol @ dickishly

  • Danielson knows it and AJ Styles knew it too when they offered him a contract. They'd be in FCW for awhile come out in some shit gimmicks, win a few matches, then job to Cryme Tyme by month #3. TNA should fire Steiner, Nash, Sting, Booker T and sign this guy and other ROH guys. If any of them actually dont do drugs....

  • why do you guys like this guy Idon't see the greatness. I'm looking at his matches tell me one to look for I want to be impressed!

  • Wrestling knowledge.

  • He knows how to engage a crowd whether he's a heel or face, he's technically sound without coming across like a guy who focuses too much on moveset (him making the crowd lose their shit just by bending Azreal's hand, for instance), and he just seems to have the whole package.

  • my favorite sport.. Bryan danielson is an excellent wrestler

  • The WWE has tried to hire him, but he keeps on turning them down because he makes more money on his own. I heard that he might join up with them after his ROH contract expires, though.

Also, just because you're in the WWE, that doesn't make you a good wrestler. That's a very bias way of thinking.

  • The wwe would water him down. Hope he never goes there. I know the money is good. But is it worth selling your soul to a company that pushes more of the crappy wrestlers than the ones who can actually wrestle?. If only fans as a whole respected wrestling and not this three ring circus they call the wwe.

  • WWE showcases flashy wrestlers with flashy signature moves instead of REAL wrestlers like Danielson. Can Danielson sign with WWE? Yes, Regal will alway put in a good word for him. Also Danielson doesnt wanna go to WWE bcuz he wont be able to be himself & have 30 minute matches. Just look what WWE did to CM Punk, they limited him & it made him seem like a KENTA poser...

  • I'm a big time Cm Punk fan and I agree with you 100% me I thought it was too ironic how there move sets seemed to be almost the same (give or take a few moves)

  • That is stupid. Kenta Kobashi doesn't work for WWE either. He really sucks. C'mon, most good workers will never be in WWE.....they want entertainers. I'm not saying that negatively, but it's different, and Danielson is different.

  • Tell me. You didn't. Just wrote that.

  • i agree with what you say, but saying wwe workers are bad is harsh, they are all good workers, they just work differently

they work to make sure that they are at certain stages of the match when its time to go to commercial or show an advert, they are excellent workers, and are only allowed on tv if they can work

however, i do agree that with people talking of how class wrestlers like danielson are, i love this style and wish it was a bigger deal than it is

  • its ashame that his style will be a meer fraction of what it is when he gets to wwe...theyre so gonna hold him down.

  • I generally agree with you but saying that all WWE workers are good workers is a bit of a stretch. I'd say less than half are "good", most are just decent enough to work the unique style without too many fuckups. It's not that taxing or complicated of a style in the first place, which helps cover up the failings of the lesser guys. Works for WWE pretty well, even if it sometimes makes the matches blend in together.

  • i thought the lower card was actually pretty good but not in comparison to danielson

  • BEST WRESTLER IN THE WORLD!

  • please dont tap!! please dont tap!!

  • I love how Danielson is being a dick. Puts Azriel in his place lol

  • imagine if Bryan was in the wwe they would have him lose to cena so quick its not even funny

  • ...ironically, one of Cena's first matches was against Danielson on Velocity

  • The F'd up thing is he's had "tryouts" on wwe shows and did the job for Cena.Shit made me sick.

  • @kingplayboyisback Oh, the irony.

  • @kingplayboyisback thats wierd somehow u knew he was goin 2 WWE didnt u phsykic

  • @kingplayboyisback You were right

  • @kingplayboyisback funny you should say that

  • @kingplayboyisback His been in WWE a while now and not yet lost to Cena! haha

  • @kingplayboyisback Aside from that Velocity match, but that was years and years ago, that dont count.

  • If you don't like Danielsons heel stuff, you are either a gay, a woman, or a mental. Or a mental woman gay.

  • It's really fucking hard not to hate him when he's like this. He's great.

  • @andyrevell Ha, failure is your best friend, I'm a woman and I love Danielson as a heel. Let alone, I've been following his career for years and I am probably one of the few female fans that aren't liking him because "he's kind of cute". :)

  • @HollywoodDiva10 At least on weekends eh? Got yourself a nice little frock to hit all the scene bars?

  • @andyrevell "Frock"? What the hell does that even mean. For one, I love pro wrestling and I have my whole life. For two, you know not a damn thing about me. For three, I don't even go to bars, so ha! For four, you must think you're epic trying to mess with a girl on the internet. Such a big man.

  • @andyrevell Ha, failure is your best friend, I'm a woman and I love Danielson as a heel. Let alone, I've been following his career for years and I am probably one of the few female fans that aren't liking him because "he's kind of cute". :)

  • @andyrevell A mental woman gay?! That is the greatest insult combo ever.

  • @Darryl8986 Thank you! Just thought I'd cover all my bases. Wouldn't want to offend the mental women gays.

  • @andyrevell i LIKE DANIELSON ALL AROUND, HEEL OR FACE

  • @SadisticScott I LIKE SHOUTING AT PEOPLE WHEN IT'S NOT CALLED FOR!

  • @andyrevell I have an excuse... t's called binge drinking

  • where is "it's the final countdown!"??

  • Bryan Danielson is my favorite ROH wrestler!

  • ^ Mines Too, He's A REAL Wrestler.

  • He reminds me of Bob Backlund, and I LOVE Bob Backlund!

  • I like Backlund too, I perfer REAL wrestling over Sports Entertainment anyday (though I do watch WWE). I wish ROH was on TV nationwide...TNA & WWE wouldnt stand a chance XD

  • Well they didnt really give the Sheldon Benjamin Mama storyline a chance...It was over before it really started

  • What a fun little match. Azrieal is actually much better than he looks here, though.

  • When it comes to the belt is just doing what a number of superstars have done before to title belts personalizing it to show their LOVE not disrespect for the title! Back in the 90s the old IC title changed colors everytime u had a new champion When it comes to his moves, any REAL wrestling fan can tell that he's just putting his own spin on classic moves...

  • Your right, he could be worse, he could be Batista, The Great Khali, Black Dust, or even (scary music) Hulk Hogan....

  • As far as Hogan goes, you ned to put that into perspective. He was great for his time, time when their were five moves, and a leg drop was a sufficient finisher. But I agree with everything else you said.

  • LOL, as a side note, i just reread that, and my grammar was horrible, "Their should be there" and it should say "a time when...", ah well, I'm sleepy.

  • LOL!!!

  • but if anyone says that's okay because that is what brings in cash, then those people have no right to call themselves wrestling fans. because wrestling fans don't really watch wwe. entertainment fans do.

  • I'm a die hard Wrestling fan & I love WWE. I look to WWE for yes entertainment but also for wrestling gimmicks & feuds like they had back in the 90's. For more of new flavor w/ more innovation I look to TNA & ROH. ROH shows the respect that all wrestlers should have for one another. Both TNA & ROH have that new style, but it's not always TRADITIONAL wrestling. And as for your reference to John Cena...

  • The Age of the Fall and Jacobs vs Whitmer was the best storylin ever been developed, better than anything the WWF did in the attidude era, and it was done by Ring of Honor. Since that storyline, I think nobody can say that WWE has the best SLs without beeing a liar...

  • I never said they had the best storylines. Cause that whole Shelton Benjamin's Momma thing was bull

  • you want to talk about disrespecting the business? how about a chairman who openly challenges God to a wrestling match on live tv? how about making a legend like ric flair look like a complete joke on smackdown? or replacing the wwe championship with some kind of retarded looking spinning centerpiece and a horrible wrestler and actor representing it?

  • for all those pricks (wwe marks) who think that what dragon is doing is inappropriate and disrespectful to the business, need i remind you that the late great owen hart used to do pull this kind of stuff all the time to the younger guys. it is just a rib. an initiation test and a way to entertain the audience because if you listen closely the fans seem to be enjoying this.

  • Don't talk about Owen Hart. Danielson is the bets wrestler in the world anyways.

  • why, do you have a problem with that? i'm not badmouthing him or anything like that.

  • i can see in this match he stole some of tiger mask moves

  • No, he borrows them. Stealing is such an inappropriate word.

  • ***useing

  • And, it's not that people watch Cena, it's that more people watch Cena than anyone else in the WWE. And, by extension, more than anyone else in the country. He's doing something right, and you sure wouldn't see him pull a match like this.

  • WWE and TNA are the only wrestling feds with a TV deal, and TNA still isn't that well known, so of course WWE is going to get more viewers. Simply put, you're a WWE fanboy.

  • guy, nsync sold millions of records, the da vinci code sold millions of copies, popular doesn't equal good...your arguing a logical fallacy. he works for more or less the only game in town, of course people watch him...bad argument. the fact that you are picking on danielson and this match...man your just grasping at straws. anyhow, i am tired of this conversation...it's been fun though. god bless.

  • It's not a fallacy though. Because what is "good" is dependent upon the goal. The goal of professional wrestling has ALWAYS been to make money. That is not always the case in music, books etc. Now, if we were going to say that the goal of bands was to sell the most albums, then N'Sync would be great. But, there are plenty of artists, such as Pearl Jam, who care little about commercial success.

That's what we are doing here.

  • and what it says about cena is that he is a lowest common denominator proformer, and that wwe is a lowest common denominator product. people will watch it because it is all that there is.

  • But, more people watch John Cena, and pay to support Cena than anyone else in the United States.

    Obviously, something is working.

  • look, the last 20 years of pro wrestling has been a consistent exposure of wrestling as a fake...picking on danielson and this match is petty and trivial. also, i think they are telling a great story here...to nit pick about believability at this point in pro wrestling is weak. i can list you 20 times on any given raw or smackdown that is more disrestpectful to wrestling.

  • A good wrestling product works in kayfabe, if only during the actual show. That is not what is happening here.

  • But, what does it say about Cena if he's a "routine man" and STILL has millions of fans into his matches every week? He STILL have the arena rocking for the finishes? It means he's damn good.

Oh, and I'm a guy by the way haha.

  • The same goes with his waistlock, and his full nelson, moves that even I could make someone hurt with. His no-selling is not furthering the story of the match, it is occurring in spite of it.

That is what makes it different from a Hogan or a Sting. When they do their instances of no-selling, it is to further the story of the match, and to draw the crowd into the match more than they are. It is done to give the fans more of a reason to want them to win. That is not the case here.

  • Atomaunt, is no-selling is a problem because it does not add to the story of the match, not to mention it is inconsistent. It exposes the match as fake, instead of drawing the crowd to believe it is real.

For example, in the first part of the match, Azrial puts him in an armbar, that apparently hurts a little. 15 seconds later, he puts in another arm bar that doesn't hurt at all. So, we've already established his arm bars can hurt, but now it doesn't?

  • it's just about selling t-shirts in the wwe.

  • in all fairness, brett hart was a "routine man" also. the fact is, if you work for vince mcmahon, you are a "routine man"...sadly, it's just how he runs his business. furthermore, i don't believe for a second that cena has any imput on the outcomes of his matches...that's just not how the mcmahons work...unless of course your triple h.

  • and when u talk about in ring ability and how to control

a crowd,IMO cena is what the late great stu hart would call a "routine man", so if u want to see improvisation done to its finest , watch ROH or simply look up someone by the name of aj styles, jack.

  • Listen here john, you don't seem to understand pro-wrestling very much. If you did, you would know that Randy Savage's matches were heavily scripted, and very little was improvised. You'd know that Hogan, HBK, and Bret Hart all follow the same "5 moves of Doom" routine. You'd know that Ric Flair was one of the biggest "routine man" wrestlers ever.

  • slyfox, like i said earlier ur comments have some truth in them but are u seriously telling me that cena has 0 %

on the outcome of his matches given the position that he is in with the wwe and his relationship with vince?

  • Toophat, yeah, I'm pretty much saying that unless your name is HHH or HBK, your fate is determined by Vince McMahon. If he doesn't want you to have the belt, you won't have it. Now, he may able to call a few shots, like HOW the matches end, but in terms of who wins, Cena has to answer to VKM, just like everyone else.

  • one more point i would like to make is that this match, like all good matches, isn't for a bunch of guys siting around a computer screen, it's for the people siting around the ring, and from what i can hear the people in attendance seem to really enjoy it.

  • it doesn't benefit anyone for danielson to sell big. this match is perfect in the context of the american dragon character. now, if slyfox wants to make a better argument than "watch the match" i am open to his/her prospective. also, i agree with slyfox that it's not the number of holds an individual knows, it's how they tell a story...period.

  • ...that is essentially what you are seeing in this match. but even that is somewhat irrelevant. danielson's job, plain and simple, is to put on the most entertaining match possible without jeopardizing his character. i think this match is a great example of that...it's funny and a great use of time.

  • hammer locks, wrist locks, head locks etc. moves that, for the sake of believability, a lesser trained wrestler might not be as proficient at. it makes perfect sense. if an individual with a few years of karate walks into a gracie dojo and slaps an armbar on one of the gracies, it would not take much for the aforementioned gracie to maneuver out...

  • my point is simply that i don't believe slyfox is making a compelling argument. no selling has been a long standing tradition in pro wrestling (ie. hogan, luger, sting) and moreover, when you watch this match, really watch it, the moves that are being no sold a wrestler might not be as proficient at.

  • oh, and the above video is an example of how they used to do it back in the old territorial days . its called the paying ur dues period. also, i believe daniels is doing a good job entertaining the crowd. i mean thats what u stand 4 right? entertainment?

  • Not in this way. It's not about mocking the business. If you can't be entertaining without mocking your profession, then you don't need to be wrestling. I would have rather Danielson just squashed the guy, then completely no-sell the guys moves, moves that hurt in real life, and in all other matches.

  • Guys get over it, Ring of Honor isn't shoot, they have kayfabe and gimmicks too. Danielson is a arrogant heel who may or may not be the best wrestler in the world.

  • I couldn't agree more slyfox...

  • i'm confused about how this match is disrespecting the business...could you please clarify?

  • Watch the match. Then you'll see.

  • that just proves how fucken great danielson is,

  • Why? Because he mocks the very business that he makes his earning from?

  • What I meant to say was, Danielson knows his role as a superior, dickish heel, Azreial or whoever knows his role. No disrespect. It's like Muhammad Ali toying with an unknown boxer or something.

  • You didn't say it...

And, you can still be a dickish heel without disrespecting the business. You don't have to mock professional wrestling to do it, and if you do, then you're not worthy of time anyways.

  • this is why danielson is a douchebag. i'm sure he was a low-carder at some point. at least try to sell some of the opponents moves

  • It's a squash. Not a real competitive match. Danielson is a douchebag because he's the BEST DAMN WRESTLER IN THE WORLD!!

  • No, he's not. I'd take a Chris Benoit any day of the week over Bryan Danielson.

  • Well everyone has an opinion.

  • Danielson's the man.

  • I don't get it. What is so funny about someone making a mockery of professional wrestling, completely no-selling the same moves that make the greatest wrestlers in the world hurt? I understand this was a jobber match, but there's no reason to make a mockery of professional wrestling.

  • Well, it's fake anyway so...Who cares?

  • Romeo and Juliet is fake too. I guess we shouldn't demand the actors and actresses in that to try and memorize their lines, should we?

  • But did you get upset at the ending of Romeo & Juliet? Did you get upset that they die? Thought not.

  • Of course you do. It's a tragic tale. You care about the actors and actresses, and you feel their anguish, their pain. That's what good actors do.

Now, would you feel that way if the actors changed their lines and made a mockery of the play? Thought not.

  • this coming from a poser who thinks that cena is GOD'S gift to WRESTLING.

  • A poser? What the hell are you talking about? That doesn't even make sense.

    Tool.

  • but u do think that cena is the best 'worker' in the business, right? and cut the 'professional wrestler' horseshit.its your definition of a professional wrestler that doesnt make any fucking sense, asswipe!so the way i see it, it is POSERS like u who r

pissing on the legacy of wrestling.

  • I think that Cena is one of the better workers in the business and more so than AmDrag, yes.

And, how does my definition of professional wrestler not make any sense? It makes perfect sense, a lot more than people who think knowing a million moves makes a good wrestler. Hell, if I wanted to see that, I'd turn on collegiate wrestling or go in my backyard and beat up my brother. Professional wrestling is not about how many moves you know.

  • so not being able to cut a decent promo, having only 5 moves in ur arsenal, not giving other stars a chance to elevate themselves by jobbing to them in high profile matches is ur idea of a "good" worker?

  • Cena is great at cutting promos, it's not the number of moves it's how you use them, and he doesn't decide who wins and loses matches.

Promo, acting, in-ring ability, charisma, drawing, moneymaking...that's what makes a good professional wrestler.

  • BRYAN DANIELSON IS AWESOME LOL! poor azrial lol

  • the guy was great when he was Angel Dust

  • I'm not a fan of the whole "old school hooking" style he's got going, but he seems to have a great sense of humor, coming to the ring to "The Final Countdown".

  • that guy bryan has really good ground technique, it would be cool if he went to wrestle in mexico

  • wow some people are stupid, bryan is a great wrestler, no doubt

  • absolute class, i love these matches in roh, like when claudio comes out, HEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYY!

  • stupid shit, that's not even entertaining...

which wrestling fan would like to see "funny" wrestling like that...f'ing shit...

  • Apparently not the ones that make Triple H Tribute videos, lol.

  • haha classic Bryan

  • A beautifully one-sided match, with the excellent Danielson in charge throughout. Jobber wasn't bad. Nice old-school touches.

  • that dude jobbed like no one i ever seen. how do you do "Job Marks"? that is insane. THAT dude needs to bring the Job squad back if he is jobbing THAT hard. great upload.

  • Great match

  • liquidfreak, you are cleary a mark.I mean, what the fuck? Bryan Danielson is GREATEST FUCKING WRESTLER on the planet.ROH is the GREATEST FUCKING PROMOTION on the planet. What sucks "donkey nuts" is your far-fetched opinions on something you obviously know nothing about.

  • The best part about your comment, is how you accuse someone else of being "clearly a mark", and then go on to say that Danielson is the "GREATEST FUCKING WRESTLING", in the "GREATEST FUCKING PROMOTION".

So, who exactly is the mark? Your hypocrisy is astounding.

  • chris benoit is better than him

  • better than who...danielson?
