  • If you like snow and ice you should spend winter in Scotland lol. Winter 2010 was the worst in history.

  • I survived the great ice storm of 98 in Upstate NY all the way through Canada. I lived in NY right on the St Larence Seaway. No power, water, food, heat or TP for three weeks. Many people died. The freezing rain fell for three days! Trees exploded, great big power line stands - the big ones - bent and collapsed. It was scary and very straining on everyone involved. When the lights finally came back on I thanked God! I was so desperate I thanked an imaginary man!! Tough times...

  • wow, i kinda miss that. seems nice and quiet where u live so you can really hear nature!

  • Great! you had power and hot food, while your neighbors had granola bars in the dark. : )

I hooked up my Honda generator (amazingly quiet and reliable) to the fuse box and I had central heating, hot water boiler, lights and even Internet !

I am sure my neighbors were in bewilderment as they saw me through the patio window in my t-shirt, working in front of my desktop computer with the lights on. I even had the large flat screen TV on and watching the news.

Only house in my area ! =)

  • Thanks for the video. You take care of yourself. Your storm is on the way here now (Wisconsin) though we're just expecting to get 10 to 16 inches of snow. It is amazing to see the ice part of this monster storm that is reaching across this continent.
