Hi, I just got this camera, and I can't get anything to recognize the files. Its properties say MPEG, but no luck. What are you using to edit if you don't mind me asking? I tried movie maker and some other freebies...media player, nero, quicktime player...nothing sees the file. It was a low def file too... Please help, thanks!

My battery is the same as any other that comes with this camera. The battery can certainly last you all day- it just depends on how often you put it to use. Thus far, I have found it to last about 70 minutes- and by that I mean recording video, and playback. Certainly not 7hrs...

I donno man my mom has the Sr47 60gb camcorder and the one hers came with records at 95 min and I have the XR500V and the one it came with before I upgraded the batterys gave me 95.. and it could easily last you all day if you do 1 min clips here and there but not straight usage

Terrible camera. Lens flare is just horrible in sunlight and even worse when you use a wide angle lens. Even indoors under standard light. The lack of manual controls is laughable. You cant control much of anything, especially compared to the similarly priced Canon HF200. It has a tiny 1/5, 2MP sensor as well. The Canon is 1/4 3.89MP with a more quality lens. Avoid this camera.

It may...if your subjects are close enough to the camera that the light hits them- you may be better off getting another camera with a proper light if you plan on doing night shots. As well, from what I have seen/read, this camera is not the best at low light, especially night shots.

Trick of American marketing teams... that battery only holds about 90 minutes. Its the fh100 battery that can do 7 hours.

I just purchased this camera, damn it's pretty awesome! Up to 3 hours recording time (with a 16gb memory stick) with the HD-FH / Full HD option, which gives some damn awesome quality.

However, for your information guys; the battery that comes with this cam only lasts 90 minutes, it's the NP-FH100 (which is sold seperately) that lasts 7 hours.
