I am wondering how does this interface deal with real time mixing/playback. How many effects can you add to your tracks before overloads occur and the sound becomes choppy? Can you monitor your sounds with effects added while recording? Does it have an high pitched hiss/noise that you can hear, even when it's idle? Thank you in advance :)

I have this, and a Behringer Ub802(?), and, I can get this and the mixer to record into my freeware Kristal audio engine, but, I just can't get energy XT to work. Did you have this problem, or did you even install it? Another thing, how many of you people have even used this Behringer stuff? I lot of people I've met only slander Behringer because everyone else does, with no experience to back it up. Behringer mixers and power amps work great, I haven't found one that's refused to work.
I'd like this solely to hook up my laptop to a stereo amp with a proper connection. It's regarded as a decent piece of kit by those in the know, regardless of what the comment-trolls have to say.
I have a/b this versus a motu 2048 and m-audio firewire solo, and the behringer is every bit as good, as either, and the ASIO latency is sometimes LOWER.
I haven't put an oscilloscope on it yet, but subjectively speaking, the Return on Investment is HUGE on this piece. This is a home run for Behringer, and a must-have for anyone looking for cheap entry into a low-cost , low-latency asio solution
@ddavishunting: No, unfortunately it will record it as one complete mono track. How i record drums it with a couple of test tracks until everything sounds perfect then i do a final mono track.
Firstly this unit is stereo allowing the simultaneous recording of two mono tracks for eg. Vocals and Bass Guitar via a DI Box each or 2 overhead Mics for drums with 2 DI Box's. I actually use 2 of these units and record electric drums via one unit and Vocals and Bass into the other (DI) and with a Korg Pandora PX5D I record onto track 5. I use Cooledit Pro which allows you to choose Track one left for unit one, Track 2 Right on Unit one, Track 3 Left unit two, ETC
You could using 4 DI box's 4 Mic's to record your drums onto individual tracks. The outputs on the UCA222 or 202 Interface would then need to be outputed to a small mixer so you can pan your realtime monitoring and output to a monitor or headphones. All you you'd need to do after is mix your 4 drum tracks.
NB: the DI box's need to volume controllable for mic's idealy such as the ART TubeMP which has Level and Gain controls with the addition of a Valve PreAmp

Hi, i'm completely new to all this. However, ive recently purchased the BEHRINGER UCA222 U-CONTROL for win 7. Will this be fine for win 7? The reviews do say that it will work. The question is, I have thousands of vynil music and want to transfer to my computer using a turntable. Plugging the BEHRINGER UCA222 U-CONTROL into the computer is simple enough. Please guide as to what to do in order to transfer music from the BEHRINGER UCA222 U-CONTROL to the computer?
Will this work just as well with a PC as opposed to a Mac just as well as the UCA202? Im looking at both of them, this one for the software. What do you have to say about the software, if you've used it?
Hey Karl, thanx for your info about Behringer UCA. I have few additional questions: when you plug it in USB port, will it mute sound from computer`s internal sound card? Can I use it as an external sound card and hear all the sound produced by computer, on Behringer`s output (cinch or phonejack)? I mean when I play some backing track in the background, can I play my guitar on top of it and hear both on Behringer`s output?
i hav a mackie 1604 vlz pro mixer..if i plug it into this will it record into garageband..or do i need a new software..if i do any recommendations?..also wut kind of interface can i use to record a band in different tracks? thanks
@slovak200: If that program allows for the use of usb devices then yes it should probably work. It works for garageband so most likely. Good Question though.
Anyone who is more into this technical stuff: can you please tell me whether this audio interface is suitable for beatmaking? I have an M-Audio Oxygen 49 MIDI controller and what I want is a low-latency audio interface so I can monitor what I am playing with my MIDI controller during recording.
@n1tmare: I notice no latency effects with this unit. I get a great sound with this with no problems. You can monitor with the headphone out before it goes through the usb. For the price you cant beat it.
@WorkingManStudios Yeah? But what's the point of buying this thing if I can monitor without latency on my onboard sound card :) The reason I need an audio interface is that when I add more than 4-5 synths in a track and the sounds get glitchy which is lame :))
i have the exact same computer and i've been using my line-in port with my mixer. i've been noticing random high-pitched squeals from any sound i listen to after a while. had no idea at all i could have damaged my soundcard. definitely going to pick one of those up.
Any other brand will do: m-audio,motu, tascam, yamaha, presonus, e-mu, focuswrite ect ect. The quality of behringer is quite poor and therefore doesn't match very well your KRK's.
you can buy them from practically any music retailer. It all depends on what computer/operating system you are running. If you have a mac then just use garageband. If you have a pc then get audacity for free, or purchase qbase. As for an interface i would stay away from m-audio, too many problems. if you have the money go with apogee. If not just get what you can afford.
Well no there is no difference between the two. One is red, one is silver. One comes with software you may or may not use. One is $10 cheaper haha. The only reason i got the more expensive one is because it was on sale for the same price as the silver one, and it has better ratings for some reason.
ay if i bought this sound card would i be able to trick virtual dj by buying a virtual dj vinyl replacement and using it for my direct or belt drive.. ?
Can somebody tell me if i can use this with a virtual dj software in order to preview cue mix on the headphone output while playing back a song on the line output, please!!?? Cheers!
@humbertozea i really want to know this too ... cuz maybe that headphones output are only for monitoring the RCA input & output , maybe is not 4 chanels (2 stereo RCA and 2chanel on jack)
To reply to your questions here: I am not familiar with this dj software. I know i can monitor my signal through the output headphone jack that is on the device itself if this answers your question
That I can find, not a whole lot. The website states that they are both plug and play but, the 222 comes with more software and plugins and i have heard it works better on mac. I have looked at the website and the only difference i can find is that the 222 give you free software and stuff. So basically its down to color choice haha. I got this one because it had better reviews on more sites. Hope this helps.
