    Lucy...CutestCavies

  • Wow! Your cage videos never fail to impress!

  • your cage rocks!

  • Wat r ur piggies names

  • i want your cage!!

  • This cage is awsome <3 !

  • How much did this cost

  • can you please make a video how you built your cage please

  • what size was ur colophlast base for upper level and lower level

  • LOVE THIS!

  • how much did this all cost

  • Great setup!! well done!!!

  • The black and white guinea pig look pregnant .

  • I love your cage. The key chain things for opening and shutting the cage is a great idea. I'm gonna use that one. I am in the process of renovating my C&C cage right now and I really like that idea. Why do u have a top on your cage? (other pets..cats maybe?) Anyways..great job :)

  • I wish i hade a cage like that but i dont have anoth room ='(

  • Where dis you buy your coroplast?

  • @DeannaCharles I bought it at a place called Fast Signs. If you go a place that makes sign you should find coroplast.

  • @AJors1034

You know this is really funny because I walked into a Fast Signs and asked them if they could sell me a full sheet of coroplast and the girl there said no and that I could find them at Fry's. She was either trying to get rid of me or she wasn't very intelligent.

I think if you find a sign shop nearby, you should give them a call first and see if you could get a quote on your purchase.

  • Really. I suggests going back in there and asking again. I bought my coroplast about 2 years ago so maybe there policy has changed, but im thinking that she didnt know what she was talking about. a piece cost me $20.

  • @AJors1034 I ended up finding another shop closeby that would sell me a piece for 20. So I'm good. Whether their policy changed or not, I'm not willing to go back in there again.

  • sweet cage

  • I'm getting a guinea pig really soon and I can't find coroplast anywhere in my country. So I need to find an alternative for coroplast. That polka dot thing is fleece? Does that mean that it can't get soaked? And what's the thing that absorbs under? Maybe i'll be using cardboard wrapped in shower curtain as the base.

I've also noticed that there's no poop anywhere? so how did you do it? THANKS so much!

  • yes the polka dot thing is fleece and i keep it in there for a week and then take it out and wash it and then put it back in. on the bottom of it is a waterproof pad, so i think you would be alright with card board. i purchased it at piggybedspreadscom. and as for the poop, i sweep it up with a mini dust broom and pan. it works really well.

  • How often do u sweep it out?

  • How did you get the upper level in coroplast(custom cut???) and how did you get your bed spread in a C shape on the upper level plz comment quickly because I am getting 2 guinea pig soon PS i love this cage so much!!!!

  • I bought the coroplast as a sheet and then cut it myself. as for the bed spread, those I ordered from piggy bedspreads but she no longer does custom cuts for cages.

  • Thank you so much for the recommendation of bed bath and beyond!!! they r sooo much cheaper there than they are anywhere i've looked!

  • yeah they are much cheaper

  • can you show us a vid on how you made the doors to the cage??

  • well i dont have time to make a video, but its easier than it looks. Zip ties are really what holds the cage together and the doors. basically I used the grids and attached them to the stable part of the cage using the zip ties. I pulled the ties pretty tight but allowed for a little room so the grids could move up and down without the zip ties snaping. i hope this helps lol!

  • wt is the polk a do thing an where did u get it

  • its a bedding type system. basiaclly fleece on top with an absorbant layer next and then a waterproof layer on the bottom. i purchased it from piggybedspreadscom. i recommend it!

  • heyy x how may grids did you use?

  • i believe i used two packages of grids

  • did u use cardboard for the sides?

  • no its called coroplast. you can get it from stores that makes signs.

  • Never mine at my comment below I figured it out with the cable ties and not connecting it to the grid.! I wanna say thanks for helping me! I'm finished and it looks exactly like urs.! Except mine is for boy piggies and I don't have the extra side 1x2 since I don't have the extra space.! But anyway thanks.! My piggies love the extra room and they also say thanks.! :)

  • Yay, I am glad you were able to replicate my cage! I am sure your piggies love it!

  • Thanks.! How do u make the two front grids lift up.? That's the last thing I gotta do.! :)

  • Its kinda hard to explain, but I simply attached zip ties/ cable ties to the top. You cant have them to tight otherwise they will break. but yeah i just used zip ties to tie the two grids together and then attach the two grids to the cage with zip ties. hop that makes sense!

  • Thanks! Last question, what size coroplast is at the top.? I have the grids set up but what size coroplast at thebtop since one grid is missing n stuff.

  • you know i am not sure exactly what size the coroplast was, but i did get the same size as i did the bottom. For the top you just have to measure more precise.

  • So the bottom is a 2x3? Then another 2x3 on top.? Then a 1x2 on the side.? Correct.? I'm trying to build this on top of my 2x3 cage. Please reply I need so much help lol

  • yes it is a 2x3 on the bottom with a 1x2 on the side and then the top is a 2x3 with one grid missing where the ramp comes up. it will be your back middle grid. i think you can see that in the video.

  • What did u make your ramp out of, and how did u make it? I have 2 guinea pigs and i decided that i want to make a C&c cage and i'm trying to figure out an easy way to make a ramp.

  • well i went to menards and got a 2 x 8 piece of wood (it was only like $2). i cut it down to the length i needed and then sanded it down. after that i covered it with fleece. works great and was really cheap to make.

  • I ended up not making this cage :\

I am still using some of the ideas though :)

I will still show you what it looks like once its done. (:

  • yes please do. i would very much like to see it when its all finished!

  • Where did you get the hay racks? What section of store?

  • i got the hay racks at fleet farm for about $3. there it was located in the farm section.

  • do u NEED two guinea pigs??? please help im getting a guinea pig very SOON!!

  • do you need two guinea pigs. No. however i originally just got one guinea pig and then deceided to get two and the first guinea pig was extremely happy when i got the second. so in my opinon i think you need two. they get very lonely, very easily. plus two is not much more than one.

  • how many grids did u need to make this?

  • it took two of the packages. i dont remember how many exactly.

  • it took two of the packages. i dont remember how many exactly.

  • I absolutely LOVE your cages you build. They are so organized and just adorable! :D

  • How many panels of the cube shelving did you have to use to make this cage? i love your cage by the way.

  • How often do you wash the fleece? And would it absorb all their pee?

  • i wash the fleece very week and a half. and the fleece does not soak up the urine. you should put towels down first to soak up the urine and then the fleece. the urine runs through the fleece and is absorbed in the towels. that way when your guinea pig walks on the fleece the fleece is dry for them.

  • Where Do You Stay I Need Help Making One Like Yours No Copyishh (;

  • i live in wisconsin lol. i can try to talk you through it, if you would like. much easier to make than it looks.

  • I was wondering, do you have any newspaper underneath your bedding or are you using those piggybedspread from that lady who sells them online?

  • no i use no bedding or newspaper, i use my own fleece in combination with the piggybedspreads.

  • `Coool.....Coraplast!

  • Awsome...im a new guinea pig owner...i realized you leave it open in the middle at the bottom. Do they ever try to jump out? Do you ever close it? is It helpful?

  • I always have to bottom close unless im cleaning, giving them food, or taking them out. and no they have never jumped out because i think they know they are high off the ground. and yes it is VERY helpful when cleaning the cage!

  • does it smell?

  • no it doesnt. i usually wash it every two weeks and by then end of the second week it kinda starts to smell. but really if you washed it every week and a half or so you wouldnt smell anything

  • lol, luv the cage ^^ i had hamsters, fish, a bird, but i got my first GP today :D me and my mom named her Tina <3 her fur is so long and fluffy (:

  • wow how long does it take to clean ur cage by urself, looks like a lot of work

  • honestly its not hard to clean at all. I sweep up their droppings twice a day with a little broom and dust pan. it takes me maybe about 5ish minutes. then for cleaning the fleece, i simply just put it in the washer and dryer and then put it back in their cage. its very easy!

  • hmm well dont u have to take apart the cage to get the fleece or to put it back?

  • i had a question,.......what is fleece for ? iz it lyke a replace ment for bedding??? or in it something u put under bedding.wat is it for.......? cuz i'm thinking about getting a c&c cage and just wondering wat the heck is fleece ? :/

  • Fleece is to replace bedding, because you would need to buy like a whole pack of bedding every week just to clean a C&C cage! Plus fleece is better for them (has to be 100% polyester), and is reusable. I recommend it!

  • yeah like they said below, i use fleece to replace the bedding cuz 1stt of all, bedding would just be to expensive to fill this size cage and i just found bedding to be very messy. all you really have to do is buy a piece of fleece big enough for your cage and buy a crib sheet, like for babies. the fleece allows the urine to wick through and then the crib sheet will absorb it. i highly recommend doing this.

  • I LOVE THIS CAGE.... if I get guinea pigs I will make one like this (like the style), and how many grids were used?

  • i believe, if i counted right, lol, that 28 grids were used

  • thanks :)

  • I love it! I might be making a c&c cage today :)

  • lol did u make ur cage 2 look just like the ladies from piggy bedspread?? lol i dont blame ya...its an awesome cage...ow did u make the ramp?? can u make informational vids on piggies~ i love this vid! srry i just read how u made ur ramp! kool!
