baseball pitches cross the plate at a downward angle of about 7-8 degrees. Softball 4-5.. IF you swing level to the ground you will not be swinging on plane with the pitch. Simple geometry.
That's the problem you have worked with mainly t-ball players. You say I'm uneducated but you are ruining their swings you will hardly ever hit a ball with a level swing on higher levels than t-ball. I am a sophemore and I hit 3 home runs and had a .475 average my freshman year so I definately know technique for a swing. So you cannot call me uneducated. You are uneducated for making this machine, watch a major league great swing and tell me if they swing level.
this has got to be one of the worst products i have seen a baseball swing is not supposed to be level the swing is supposed to go at an upward angle to stay in the same plain as the ball if youre on the same plain as the ball you can still hit with power even if you are early or late with more line drives a level swing only has one place to hit with power if you miss it becomes a barely hit ball or u miss completely
You have no idea what you are talking about. I have successfully trained many T-Ball players in the past two years. If you had any real intelligence you would not comment on something you are uneducated about.
@LevelSwing You may train T-ballers, but the guy is right, 1st off, how do you teach a level swing if the pitch is thigh hi and the bat starts above the shoulder? The only thing that even closely would resemble a level swing would be a pitch that is at the level of the hands. But your comment to layton, I guess you would call ted Williams uneducated about the swing as well, cuz that is exactly what he taught (and did).
@LevelSwing The quality swing is one that starts at the top of the zone (it has too, thats where the hands are), the bat descends into the zone and hopefully starts a slight upward ascent just prior to making contact. (a slightly downward angle at the ball is ok as well). In other words, the swing is an arc. Your swing may work on a tee, that the problem with a tee, it doesnt teach the correct bat path at all.
nope you have no intelligence Layton is definately right, you may get t-ballers to hit good but when they get to upper level baseball....you have just screwed them
what if the ball is not level or is high or low? don't you need to tilt one way or the other? in which case it not a level swing. The kids are all bat dragging
