Sup, nice run on 1943. Have you ever heard of RetroUprising. com? I'm not trying to spam you or anything. I'm simply sending out a friendly invite to a great site I play at. If you're interested look us up. We also have a facebook page.
@CandyHam Get the ROM and load it up in MAME and beat it, like I did back in '02. It takes hours to beat, but this game has a sweet ending! Makes you feel patriotic and stuff.
i use to stop at a local store when i was a kid on the way home from school to play this game just about everyday...and boy would i get mad if someone was on the machine...lol
Love this game, only managed to finish it 4 times on one credit. I usually die on the yamato boss... too many little planes around that last bit before you get to the boss.. arrgh
1st stage,in the surface area, you need shoot the first "pow" many times, turn this in "AUTO",takes the only 3WAY in the scene, after this you take the "AUTO"....
@DuuuuuhWhaaaa of course, that arcade unit was a bit more powerful then a genesis, and capable of displaying way more colors then the NES could.
the NES used a Ricoh 2A03 (6502) 8bit CPU at 1.79 mhz, and a PPU (picture processing unit) at 5.37mhz. it had 48 colors and 5 grays, only able to use 24 colors per scan line. a bit slower then the arcade unit.
Recuerdo que hay trucos para tener armas extras cuando comenzaba cada misión con tiempo maximo (60 segundos) y luego lo cambiabas por otra arma (desde shot gun hasta Laser).
@Goodguy33 It doesn't matter that the Japanese made a game where you brutally defeat the Japanese navy at Midway. United States made Battlefield Vietnam (where you can play as Vietnamese and defeat the US) and you know what happened in the Vietnam War.
@Goodguy33 It has to be historically accurate, doesn't it? Which it is except for the date, the Battle of Midway took place in early June 1942. I don't know why the game is called 1943.
Is the music heard in the Ayako stage (before you fight the Ayako itself) heard in the NES version of the game, as well as the second "visual forces commencing attack" screen tune?
which emulator did you use?

@shadowmaster0111
MAME. There is another emu but I forgot the name. It specialized in capcom games.

Isn't there a version of this where you get upgraded weapons, like lasers and missiles, however, unlike the kai one, your still the p38?

My favourite is the Auto Gun.

Music improved drastically in the game 1943, making it several times better than the game 1942

I still think it's hilarious that the Japanese made a game where you brutally defeat the Japanese navy at Midway. .What is this, community service?
Goodguy33 2 years ago 28
@Goodguy33 While we contemplated why they did it, they deposited our money in their bank. 1943 was a hit game.

@Goodguy33 I also recall Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault selling really well (for an FPS) in Japan too..

@Goodguy33 It says on the beginning that it's illegal to play the game outside of the US and Canada.
