Special relativity is a hard fact to dispute, especially as without it our GPS would not work. I would agree that it may need refining, but it does not need discarding, the very concept is ridiculous to a physicist. Nothing has been presented that even remotely threatens the validity of this theory. His argument is based on an observable fact, that he tries to dispute. I could almost believe this was a Christian science channel. :p

@guydecervens That is not true at all, we knew long before CERN that the speed of light could be altered. However we had only previously been able to slow it down. Light actually travels slower through water, and we have had it as slow as 38mph through rubidium.

@guydecervens I do not think any probes have crashed in to the Sun, Venus and Mars for sure. But that does not show us anything, as accidents occur. The fact they made it in to these orbits alone stands testimony to the power of maths. The equitation E=MC² is correct, even if its application is not as universal as first thought. The experiment that shows that time slows down for particles/matter at velocities close to the speed of light (c) has been done in every particle accelerator on the planet. Muons are particles with a decay lifetime and at the LHC muons are accelerated to close to c. At these speeds their decay lifetime increases significantly because they experience time more slowly. The universe trumps your common sense!

When you get up in speed, there are some differences in Newtons physics, which are explained by Einsteins relativity theories. It is good to see that others have adopted the basic argument I have been promoting for several years at my network site. I finally have the relative c across inertial frames issue is resolved. We all accept that the speed of light is c in every inertial frame of reference. Since it is c in every frame, there is a conflict with it being additive to the speed of the frame. It should be clear that anyone who thinks common sense can be used as an argument against relativity theory, has no idea of even the most fundamental part of it. The effects predicted by special relativity are barely detectable below speeds of about 10% of the speed of light. That's 30000 kilometers per second! What reason is there to think our common sense would tell us anything of value about such speeds? None.

Speed of light found to be constant through SN1987A and emission of em rad from high speed mesons. Low orbit satellites do have a measurable difference in their time as predicted by Einstein's equations. Jet's flown around the world, travelling in opposite directions with atomic clocks on board have also measured with very impressive accuracy a difference in time predicted by Einstein's equations. Einsteins theories are accepted for their continued success in predicting how the world works.

This man does not understand the topic he is discussing.
Special relativity is a hard fact to dispute, especially as without it our GPS would not work. I would agree that it may need refining, but it does not need discarding, the very concept is ridiculous to a physicist. Nothing has been presented that even remotely threatens the validity of this theory. His argument is based on an observable fact, that he tries to dispute. I could almost believe this was a Christian science channel. :p

@guydecervens That is not true at all, we knew long before CERN that the speed of light could be altered. However we had only previously been able to slow it down. Light actually travels slower through water, and we have had it as slow as 38mph through rubidium.
What is interesting about CERN is they have accelerated light to faster than 186000 mps, which at first seems remarkable. But lets not forget, it is a particle accelerator and its job is to accelerate particles ironically.

Thus current THEORIES on gravity are wrong which may explain why so many deep space probes crased into the sun because the 'scientists' miscalculated gravity because they BELIEVED Einstein. Einstein never based his THEORY on experiments, just ideas. There's a lesson for all scientists including 'Directed Panspermia' believers and 'Climate Science' believers.

@guydecervens I do not think any probes have crashed in to the Sun, Venus and Mars for sure. But that does not show us anything, as accidents occur. The fact they made it in to these orbits alone stands testimony to the power of maths. The equitation E=MC² is correct, even if its application is not as universal as first thought. As for a cosmological constant, well we have been looking for one of those for a long time now, and still no luck. Physics is in crisis and has been for some time.

You should look up about the two slit experiment, in short it means that things can act as both waves and particles. And this revelation in itself does nothing to discredit E=MC². The actual point is the "C" is wrong when in comparison to the real nature of light as it can both be particles and waves.
Read up on the "Standard model" as this is fundamental what we are trying to prove.

As Tom Bearden & others have pointed out, Einstein failed to use Maxwell's original equations & used Oliver Heaviside's streamlined version minus the scalar coordinate. Consequently, Einstein comes up with the bogus notion that bending light requires a large mass when, in fact, mass has nothing to do with gravity, at all. The result was an oversimplification of the universe.
As Dr. Pari Spolter proves, Newton & Einstein were frauds.

Even if they were wrong which they probably weren't, doesn't mean they were frauds, you can call Fermat a fraud for claiming a proof for his last theorem, but Einstein and Newton only expressed what seemed right to them and which now still seems right to a lot of scientists.
Einstein never needed the totality of Maxwell's equations, he only needed to know that light travels at exactly the speed of light in any frame of reference.
Do you know that GPS wouldn't work without relativity?

Relativity scientists use GPS for validation, but GPS does NOT operate on relativity.
Maxwell's equations are NOT the sum of it's parts. Without the ORIGINAL equations, Einstein's claim to a unified field theory is not possible.

The Kinetic Energy equation of Ke=1/2 MV squared, is absolute nonsnese, and violates the first law of thermodynamics. According to that equation, a simple lever can create energy out of nowhere by amplifying velocity of a smaller object from the motion of a larger slower one.
Since relativity is based on this equation, then of course it's poppycock.

So far Michelson-Morely has NEVER been tested unidirectionally, it's always been ASSUMED that the beams were moving at the same rate in both directions, even though it's technically impossible if the sources and targets were moving relative to one another.

I can't comment on Petr Beckmann but this guy doesn't understand what he is talking about. The experiment that shows that time slows down for particles/matter at velocities close to the speed of light (c) has been done in every particle accelerator on the planet. Muons are particles with a decay lifetime and at the LHC muons are accelerated to close to c. At these speeds their decay lifetime increases significantly because they experience time more slowly. The universe trumps your common sense!

@TheFrameHunters there are right and wrong in mathematics (and physics). But the constraints when Newtons physics works is when you calculate with small relative speeds. When you get up in speed, there are some differences in Newtons physics, which are explained by Einsteins relativity theories. Newtons physics still works within the old borders, with low relative speeds. When we can observe which Einstein doesn't work, we make up new way of calculation, like with Newton -> Einstein,

It is good to see that others have adopted the basic argument I have been promoting for several years at my network site. I finally have the relative c across inertial frames issue is resolved. We all accept that the speed of light is c in every inertial frame of reference. Since it is c in every frame, there is a conflict with it being additive to the speed of the frame. The solution is simple.

Just because Einstein did away with the Aether, doesn't mean it really does not exist. Michaelson and Morley were unable to detect it by measuring light at right angles from a source. So what? Many scientists today wonder if it does exist. As well, Einstein said his "biggest blunder" was introducing a cosmological constant. Many scientists again today wonder if it was actually a great idea.

According to my knowledge, the Lorentz transformations and time dilatation have been experimentally detected with particles when they have been accelerated to reach a high enough velocity. This corresponds with the example of "a guy going to the outer space and getting younger", and supports Einstein's theory.

It should be clear that anyone who thinks common sense can be used as an argument against relativity theory, has no idea of even the most fundamental part of it. The effects predicted by special relativity are barely detectable below speeds of about 10% of the speed of light. That's 30000 kilometers per second! What reason is there to think our common sense would tell us anything of value about such speeds? None.

@Griexxt various aspects of it are no doubt physical law.As an encompassing theory,it may be subject to errors or oversights which may render it as obsolete as Newtonian gravity.I suspect that GUT lies in oversights that would force astrophysics to regress several decades (unless you buy the contrived string theory);or the"theory of everything"doesn't exist which may require mathematical "proof" through e.g. chaos theory. If Al was wrong, it was in oversimplifying, not overcomplicating.

@eulex10 I mean there is no reason why we should think our "common sense" should tell us anything about speeds that high. Which means our "common sense" is a poor guide in criticizing or even understanding Special Relativity as the people in this video try to do.

Speed of light found to be constant through SN1987A and emission of em rad from high speed mesons. Low orbit satellites do have a measurable difference in their time as predicted by Einstein's equations. Jet's flown around the world, travelling in opposite directions with atomic clocks on board have also measured with very impressive accuracy a difference in time predicted by Einstein's equations. Einsteins theories are accepted for their continued success in predicting how the world works.

@egokick My point is about what you refer as "evidence". It should be evident the second possible device is more accurate or "evident" than the interferometer. Superstring theory suggest we are living in a membrane of 11 dimentions with specific laws. Maybe there is another membrane with different laws. Or perhaps we are living in a dream of a dreamer therefore is a waste of time as Buda said to think about "evidence"....

@tricknowledgy Newton does not accurately describe systems where the differences in mass / velocity are extreme. However it still holds quite well for our every day world (I can still calculate the amount of force in a falling apple if I know its acceleration and mass).

@EXoTjC You may have evidence that the earth is flat locally... and for local action (like building a house) the earth can be treated as flat. However if you are extending your "the earth is flat" to cover the entire globe then the evidence is quite against you.
