the truck actually operates at 1600 RPM when doing a parked regen. if you are going 75-80 MPH all the time, you pretty much won't do a parked regen. the exhaust pipe gets up to 1200 degrees Farenheit and the exhaust filter would be emptied all the time if you are at the right speeds. if the truck is in the city all the time, it will have some problems.
The best way to clean the entire exhaust system is to delete the DPF and delete its regen programming. Better fuel economy, reduced emissions and increased engine lifespan. No down sides.
i understand the possible frustration over the DPF, but tell me how many drivers turn there truck off when there sitting at a dock or something waiting to get loaded or other wise. your flipping a switch, lets not get to lazy people.
Had prostar in to shop twice now..regen not working properly and have loss of power while driving...rpm won't let you downshift..have to coast to side of road. Feeling ripped off!
