  • My dad is the best male on the planet, and my mother is the best female on the planet :)

  • I like your background in these videos. Its subtle and makes your faces stand out. Quite engaging.

  • Yeah i prefer not to have black bars on my mobile while watching YouTube because the most and important information is in the middle, look at your videos you can zoom in a lot and not mis anything so no problemo!

  • My sister says true manhood is if you can hold a sword and actually use it. I like the idea od the screen

  • we had a old tv but got a new hd one. sad part is that it won't play in color;(

  • not until he got his HD television lol

  • ahahahaha a throw back! I am so using that word!

  • I prefer full screen O.o

  • And, at that moment, someone driving by outside blew the horn.

    It was chuck testa.

  • I love the bars. I set it to the black bars every time.

  • my dad hates the bars, he says he is missing half the show because the top and bottom are "missing"

  • Wide-screen all the way. i don't mind full-screen, but i rather watch wide-screen.

  • ok, why the 16:9?????????????????

  • @777purplepunk its a reference to the tv

  • @VeryCupboardy ohhh! wow, haha kay thanks

  • Thumbs up if you saw this video

  • I'd rather lines, for sure~ Widescreen no matter what. My boyfriend likes fullscreen. I dunno if it's gonna work out...

  • I'm just gonna say that I don't want wide or full. I want entire screen. I want to see everything but eith the screen filled with the picture.

  • You guys are very persuasive, I will never watch anything full screen again.

  • "if you feel led"? haha, is this a Bible study??

  • im sorry but i like fullscreen!

  • Rheeetttt....you guys will get a TV show.....*future noises*

  • If you're a man by owning a HD Television then I'm a man and i'm 12!

  • @gamefreek24the2d same here but im a girl!

  • 2:00 Link ur soo cutee :)

  • I'm from the future.... You guys have a tv show :D I watched it :)

  • @kaleegrl112 what channel?

  • @buubles15 IFC :D

  • @kaleegrl112 ohhhhhh ok i found it

  • wide screen

  • I hate people who hate the black bars... They're racist.

  • i dont like any black lines i want the whole screen filled

  • I like full screen. Cuz black bars distract me. I don't see why they can't make it wide and full at the same time....

  • I am concerned by this talk of television for two reasons 1: will it mean that the more rhett and link there is on television the less there will be on youtube? and B: is "Internetainment" compatible within a televisual environment? Also naming my two points as 1: and B: was a deliberate choice for my own pleasure.

  • I hate the black bars because I always get distarcted by them during the movie!

  • I've had the same argument with my friends. With widescreen, you see all the picture. You fullscreen people might as be watching it through one of those wrapping paper tubes.

  • its trending...

  • Full screen

  • "Not until he got his HD television." (Holds look for 10 seconds.)

  • I like widescreen better than fullscreen

  • My TV is like that (whole TV filled, I mean). I don't like it because I can't see the TV logo, but it's Dad's choice. -_-

  • I like full screen more than widescreen

  • I'm sorry for being creepy today. LOL

  • Comment removed

  • our HDTV zooms in widescreen, well stretches it across the whole screen, as an option.

  • I love ur guys' mic

  • My dad's a dad!

Thumbs up if yours is too!

  • @KarinaaJessicaa

    :( mine isn't

  • The same think happened with our blu ray player.

    Rhett's dad is 64? I'm 15 and my dad is 60.

  • @afissy Plaayyyaaa dad.

My dad is 55, and I'm 18. Lol.

  • @STITCHEDSakura My dads 42 and I'm 14 :O

  • @afissy im 10 and my dad is 42

  • My mom prefers to do the zoomed in thing. It's not so much of a problem for me except when there's text on screen that gets cut off. As for the picture, if I don't know it's there I dont miss it if that makes sense.

  • it's like when they started putting radios and things into cars, to apeal to some of the older folks they would put out ads that said things liek "no computers!"

  • at 1:40 it's like link is staring into my soul.

    kind of creepy.

  • i dont like the widescreen, it annoys me to see the black on the top and bottom. maybe i should invent a "Widescreen Filler" somthing that keeps the entire a picture but covers the black areas with smal sized intresting video or comic of some kind

  • I dont like wide screen but i did not know that it took off parts...

  • Full screen anything is a huge pet peeve of mine. When I watch a dvd that only has a full screen option, it's all I can focus on.

  • Why dont they just make widescreen TV's? You just waste the extra room

  • 16:9 all the way

  • I hate the zoomed in stuff, I got an old TV in my bedroom and I never go 4 : 3

  • my mom and I like the DVDs that have the option of widescreen OR fullscreen in the menu...I think all the DVDs should be like that

  • i was fully converted to widescreen after watching Ben Hur and Lawrence of Arabia on TCM. For any classic movie, which are my favs, there is absolutely no excuse. 16:9 widescreen always!

  • funny, 11 dislikes

  • I hate tv's like that.. I'm a wide screen girl!!

  • I used to prefer the full screen thing, but after I got used to it, I can't really go back, even though I have an older TV.

  • The market is dieing : ( Full screen is awesome : )

  • I prefer the black bars on top and bottom, haha

  • it had the black bars because it wasn't on hd u need it on hd for no black bars

  • "It's a market that's dying. Literally." hahahahaha

  • I used to like fullscreen. but seeing as how much more is visible with wide screen i forced myself to get used to the black bars. :D

  • I have a 32" tv at home and i just download movies in 720p...once you go HD you never go back.

  • I prefer fullscreen for 4:3 regular TVs, but 16:9 for Widescreen HDTVs

  • I don't have a wide screen hd tv yet, so I prefer the full screen on that tv. However, when we replace it and get a wide screen, then I'd prefer the 16:9.

  • I used to work at a video store, and there are tons of people who enjoy there full-screen dvd's. Granted they are all older people, and Link you were very smart not to try and explain it to your father-in-law,because its like beating your head against the wall ! LOL! I would spend countless time explaining why its better to watch widescreen, but after I would explain it to them they woold give this look like I just told them santa wasn't real, and they were three ! LOL!

  • yeah my dad is the same way " we paid for 42 inches of tv, and damnit we're gonna watch 42 inches of tv"

  • I used to like fullscreen better cuz i thought the screen looked squashed down in widescreen. now the black bars on the sides really annoy me.

  • 6:09

Link has HUGE hands I just realized lol!

  • HIGHFALUTIN!!

  • When I saw 16:9 manhood, my mind went straight to the gutter and I started thinking of growth ratios...

  • go to epicsleds.webs.com

    still a work in progress

  • 21, or 2021, is when you start saying it 21.

  • Link is such a tard...a CUTE tard ;)

  • yeah, TVs and computer monitors can be a little sketchy when it comes to knowing how the output will be; cause sometimes a screen is completely filled if the video is a 16:9 HD video, or sometimes the horizontal black bars come up, or sometimes the widescreen option makes it shrink to play in 4:3 for some reason

  • Hahaha, I love at 2:03, how Rhett's face is like, "what the crap are you doing?"

  • I like full screen

wide screen use to bother me a lot because it's small

but I don't mind it now

I just don't think watching things in full screen is missing that much information, it looks the same to me

  • I would die if you guys didn't get a TV show. :'(

  • WIDE SCREEN ONLY. No better way to go, once you realize how much you miss from full screen.

  • kay, i am by no means old but i hate wide screen. i have no idea why but if i get a movie that only comes in wide screen i can't focus on the movie. i just keep thinking, why is this wide screen!? I don't know, maybe I'm old at heart.

  • I prefer full screen, but once I get used to wide screen (every time) I like it better.

  • I work at Wal-Mart. '-_- Old people hate wide screen tvs/movies.

  • my dad is 60... O3o?

  • you can get that close to me link ;)

  • I forgive you for being creepy Link. Haha

  • i have never chosen to watch full screen.

    widescreen is so much better..

  • Got the paper with you guys in it the other day! <33

  • i like 16:9 res.

  • the Irony here being that this youtube video is accompanied by black bars in widescrees mode...

  • i really want to c ur kids, lol!

  • got one

  • "I think it's a dying market... literally" , HILARIOUS !

  • My dad HATES wide screen. Most of the time i don't really notice whether its wide screen or not...

  • 5.56 Rhet - "you don't have to get that close to me" lmao

  • I have an older TV, but, I was at a restaurant that had a giant TV, but, it was not in HD, so, it was pretty fuzzy at some parts, (sorta like if you stay on 360p in the widerscreen option here on Youtube.) So, I realized that even though I have a smaller TV, the image is clearer for non-HD TV.

  • i hate full screen! widescreen is better.

  • What frustrates me is that I have a 58 inch HD widescreen TV and some "widescreen" movies still make black bars on the top and bottom, (so they are wider than our tv) when you pay that much money on a great tv, and then the black bars...

  • Is IFC the International Food Channel?

  • Comment removed

  • I think I'd pay money to be one of Rhett's children

  • @mushroomsoupbowl who are you Madonna?

  • LOL Throwback.

  • here in australia when we watch and american tv show in HDMI it has the black lines down the side but you change it so its off HDMI and the black lines go away but its not clear and u lose about 25%

  • "...not until he got his HD television".

  • "I think it's a dying market, literally." lol

  • my dad has said on multiple occasions that he has no idea why widescreen exists.

  • I hate it when my parents put it on full screen!! I want to see everything!!

Plus I'm pretty sure our television IS widescreen, but they still insist on having it zoomed in!! GAAHHH!!

  • best bromance ever

  • @fibonacci227 hell yes!

  • I hate having info cut off. Widescreen ALL the way! And AWWWW rhett has kids!!!! How old are they

  • We have a widescreen TV, but we still get the stupid black bars above and below. My dad hates it, so he zooms. I get slightly upset with him.

  • I hate not being able to see the whole picture, therefore I hate full screen. The black bars don't bother me if I get to see the whole picture. Then again, I don't own a TV so it doesn't even matter.

  • God I know that problem with the aspect ratios.

  • KIRSTEN HUTCHINSON!!!!!

  • is it just me or does link look like dana carvey in waynes world?

  • We used to buy fullscreen, until we realized it was detrimental to the quality. :/ Now my Dad's a real man and has a widescreen so it's all good. :P

  • velvetgrapefruit > Removing the black bars means zooming in on the image. When this is done the edges of the images are cut from the screen.

Black bars on top and bottom allow the viewer to see 100% of what the filmmaker intended them to see, if the film was originally shot in widescreen.

When converted to fullscreen, sometimes characters or elements within the frame that enhance the artistry of the shot are actually cut out because they are that close to the edge.

  • Yes!!

    Widescreen. Always.

I filmed a movie a couple months ago and nearly cried when I realized I had forgotten to change the camera's settings to widescreen.

So my film is now stuck in perma-fullscreen mediocrity.

I'm happy to hear that was not your problem.

  • I am 16 and have a HD tv......does that make me a dad?

  • 16:9 FTW

  • Link constantly makes fun of Rhett. It's funny to watch.

  • We made my dad a man this year by buying him a wide screen HD TV

  • actualy (certainly in england), the vast majority of TV is 4:3, and i have a 16:9 display. so i just set it to show all 4:3 with the black bars on the left n right, and then automaticaly fill the screen when 16:9 content is being viewed. i think that people buying 16:9 tvs should be aware that its realy only movies that are shot in widescreen, whereas tv shows tend to be 4:3

  • Quite frankly, I never know what I have until I pop it in the DVD player! It doesn't matter to me since the movies are geared to point your eyes where to look little sidebars aren't important. If I am watching a play on DVD, that has to be in widescreen so that I can see the whole stage.

  • 16:9 annoys me. :/

  • i just mean..why are the black bars in 16:9 significant? grrr this confuses me the more i think about it lol.

  • i'd google this but i don't even know what to type in. what did you mean when you said that if you take off the top and bottom black bars then it'd take away 25% of the image? this grapefruit's brain feels quite velvety.

    yes yes i'm a massive noob :D

  • it just messes with me if my screen isnt full.

  • I liked Widescreen before Widescreen was trendy. Everyone thought I was crazy.

  • I don't perfur it but I like it

  • urg!!! i hate wide screen!!

  • LOL 2:00 link's face hahahaha and then Rhett laughs at him

  • This just reminds me of the older people in my family. I love it. hahaha

  • i prefer full screen. is it really a dying market? i feel like it's better. what is the black part supposed to be?

  • haha when im 64.

  • what i hate is shows that are filmed in widescreen and when they go to 4:3 they add black bars at the top, bottom and both sides

  • It's 11, just ask Frezned!

  • I never really knew there was a difference...

  • I just realized that link sounds like Ross Perot.

  • So no one was ever a father until they invented HD TV's...

  • I have to ask.. why do they not just make TVs the shape of widescreen!?

  • I already watch the movie on youtube with my big bro! :)

  • intimate sound

  • i have an old one and i want to see the hold thing

  • it's trending................. i love that!!!!

  • Does anybody else think this sounds like a podcast?

  • NO! It's '11, just '11!!!

  • 21:9 tvs are the best tho! cant beat em... all the best films fit the screen completely from how they were recorded originally - so no black bars and no zoom!

  • Link, I like your creepiness today. It pulls the video together.

  • i am one of those people that go to walmart and get the full screen movies! ha ha you just said the story of my life!

  • Screw flat screens... paint the wall and buy a 1080p projector... 146" screen baby!

  • I have a question: As most photographs are 4:3, would it be preferred to make all that 16:9?

  • Your dad is 64? Mine is 65 and I'm only 20...... we might be closer in age than I thought.

  • I hope you can show us the pilot soon.

  • Does anyone know what brand that rather good sounding mic is by chance?
