@SP1234ification Most if not all of the pools on the pre-US bases were built by Sadam and when we took the base we took ownership... I was at Balad between April and October 2011 and the pool closed the end of June...

I never saw anything like this from 05/06. Was at a large fob (not ballad). I did hear rumors of these phantom pools but i never saw one. Spent my entire deployment mainly working and a little sleeping. we had 2 people who won the lottery for a 4day in qatar toward the beginning but only happened once. This video IS NOT the norm, esp for army/marines.

my primary base had a "pool" too, never had water in it, never was open lol, not sure why they wasted money building it

Without aerial superiority, the land forces would suffer larger casualties and the advancements in bombs, fighters, and support craft make them more efficient and killing enemies.

This is the big Pool in Balad, rite next to the gym, and the track I should know I was there,. I never forget that place
