  • love you charlie

  • Greatness

  • I was at Ft. Carson Colorado at the same time Charlie was stationed there....we never met...we both were just another soldier...

  • This guy never gave a shit about trying to be thought of as "cool". His family raised him right apparently. Seems he was just being himself, and it shows. A great singer indeed.

  • my favourite man, sounds like he did 40 years ago.

  • I liked Johnny Paycheck's "Take this job and shove it ...". A great singer with an attitude LOL.

  • Charley is good, but the best version of this song is with Kris Kristofferson.

  • @storerauen Ms. Joplin owns the best version by leaps and bounds. Glad Kris wrote it but Janis sang it like it was written to be sung.

  • takes me back to my young years listening to this with my late brother inlaw it was good enough for me then and is now heart fealt memories RIP IK

  • By far the best version, the man was made for Country music, the greatest voice in his genre.

  • The ending was superb. What a great singer!

  • i love him getting marrid soon and need him to be my wedding singer

  • Is this on one of his albums?

  • Yes, this man have a greate woice, one wery good country singer:)

  • @qbulb i am a bad person i guess. i do love country music though, and thats what this comment section is for. sorry i offended you i'll take down the comment. peace

  • @putdownan8dude ...Actually you are a very nice person. Most people tell me to f.. myself or to f....off. I tried to remove my comment too, since you were nice enough to remove yours but the remove part was missing. Sorry about that. Speaking of country music one of my most favorite singers is Merle Haggard. He has the greatest voice ever. Charley Pride is very good too.

  • @qbulb merle is awesome. i also love johnny paycheck just about more than anybody. he and merle were like brothers. if you haven't checked paycheck out i would suggest old violin as a good place to start. god bless you too

  • @putdownan8dude ...I'll take my comment down, too since you are so nice about it. God bless you.

  • I hadn't heard his version. He does a nice job. We knew he could sing.

  • Great Picture

    In colour

  • *imagine*

  • been a fan since I was a teenager (and sigh, that was a good while ago) I was listening to country when all my friends were into Elvis and Rock and Roll. LOL

  • an american icon mr. charlie pride

  • "I was listenin' to the Opry when all of my friends were diggin' Rock N Roll & Rhythm and Blues..yeah I was Country when country WASN'T cool"

  • I grew up on Charlie, will always love his music.

  • love charlie love all his fans thanks posting

  • 'Wow' my favourite country singer, dressed in my favourite colour, what more can you ask for, Thanks for sharing.

  • I think this was on " Live at Tiger Stadium " Charley is my hero .

  • Man, that suit must be hot! i love classic country

  • Not as good as Buck Owens version, but very well done anyway

  • i thought kiss a angel was his only real song i guess i need tolook into what was his ive always liked this song

  • He's very special.

  • I love this song!!!!

  • good stuff!!!!

  • my parents favourite ever song and artist

  • Good old charley one of the best iknow ive seenhim 4 times in concert..

  • great job Charley

  • that suit is bug time

  • kris is the best

  • Great Voice!, Love that suit.

  • His voice is so much fun to listen to as it is not grating and tiring. He seems so respectful to the back up singers as he faces them and acknowledges them.

  • he's a lengent...his voice will last forever

  • Kris Kristofferson WROTE IT...Janis' version is the one that I think of most.Charley Pride brings his own take to it...Each to their own taste. I agree with you - there is no "best" version. It's just personal taste.

  • Why do people seem to think that there has to be a huge argument over who does the best version? I just like the song, whoever sings it. Janis and Charley's versions are both great, but for different reasons. Get over it man...

  • Charley Pride & Johnny Cash...The best versions to this song...thank you for posting:)

  • out this world

  • Actually, Roger Miller, a songwriting buddy of Kris, was the first one to make this song a hit.

  • anyone saying Kristofferson did not write this song? he did, and many more, i'm sure he like all of the versions, considering, he profited from all of them

  • Janis's version of this classic song is the Absolute Best. All the rest are country miles behind.Period.

  • Right up there with one of the earliest versions of the tune by Gordon Lightfoot, a couple years before Janis Joplin's recording.

  • Hey thanks. I like it !!

  • THE BEST VERSION(.)

  • Kris Kristofferson have done the best version!

  • I've seen other videos of Charley but I never saw him dance while he was singing--like he seems to to here.

  • not as good as the original but charlie carries it off
