@phrozen17 The scope used is an older model quick detach A.R.M.S. mount which allows a shooter to still utilize the iron sights just below the red-dot sight. The mount also follows the theory that its better to have a high optic so that the shooter can get to the optic quicker and doesn't have to lower their head down uncomfortably to get to the sights.
@GsxRaider Certain states do allow for civilian ownership of NFA fully-automatic weapons but you must first pass a background check and obtain a tax stamp from the the BATF.
fact though in a extreme terrain or deployment fix sites are always best unless you have time to fix your sites during war lol i still love how fully auto is overated semi auto quick accurate shooting will always prevail
nyahahahaha..need to lean forward....blahh--blahh blaahh..yeah..the sight..why get a digital sight..wen basic sight have not been perfectly masterd yet..hayhay..
The argument for optics can sometimes be that they offer quicker target acquirement due to the red dot, with heads-up type optics, they allow both eyes to remain open, with higher mounted optics, the shooter is able to respond faster by not have to tilt his neck down towards the iron sights, and with magnified optics, they offer more precision as well as observational capacity.
Personally, I use both sights and this MP5 is set up to where you can access the standard sights.
The maximum range for a MP5 is about 150 meters, but most would say handguns and sub-machine guns have an effective range of 50 meters. The shooters were at about this range plus most of them have not had any prior experience shooting handguns or sub-machine guns.
Yo! Its me John, the guy that was talking to you about the MP5/10 mag setup. Nice to see you on youtube! great vid and nice MP5. If im ever in the area ill make sure to visit your shop.
isn't that reflex scope like 6 inches higher than the barrel? Is it supposed to be like that?

This was the first time any of the shooters had fired a MP5 or even a fully automatic weapon. So it was a learning experience for them.
Thank you!

single shot is best, unless it's a very close combat situation.. for example, the pistol was more accurate. (even at 3 shot bursts...eh)
tipusultan6 2 years ago
Part of the problem with the accuracy with the MP5, was that the optics were not sighted in properly.
Thank you!
XcaliberTactical 2 years ago
Bah, why put an optical sight on an MP5 when the standard sights are really nice.

@XcaliberTactical I agree, the red dot sights are much faster to acquire than iron sights but I still love to shoot with them

You are wrong. You can tell right off the bat that's it's an MP5 variant by looking at the front sight.

The scope on the MP5A5 was pretty badly off and had to be recalibrated, so even in semi-auto I don't think it would have been much more accurate.
