I can be witness to Jacks "zip jobs" He knows his sh&%!!! I now own "394 sleeper"check out vid!! got it off him through e-bay!!! Jack Thanx so much fer"ugly betty"Thats what I call her now!
I like them. It is toooooo bad they (Husky Engineers) did not spec the 394/395's with the 2100 crank configuration??? A couple pounds less with the same power. That would be an animal saw. Of course you can get a big bore kit and add ~ 6cc's > 99 total. Equal displacement just different ways of getting there. The 395 actually has a bigger rod bearing than a 394 which will handle the stress of the BB kit a little better in my humble opinion. Are your saws zipped?
I can make a 460 / 046 run like a 372XPW > 76.5cc versus 75cc. The 390 is more comparable to a 660 / 066 in displacement and power, it will smoke a 460. Plus the crank case design and stroke is very good for making power on the 390.
If your are interested in a "zipped" saw let me know.
I have seen your video of your big bore 460 it was very impressive also how much would a setup like that cost? and how reliable are they? I cut timber and want something that will last a long time please excuse my lack of knoledge i have always run stock saws
Here are the three; at idle 3300 +/-, short full throttle blast w/42" bar and chain out of the wood 15000 +/-, while the bar is buried in a 4' red fir butt log 12750 +/-.
