  • I'm so happy she mentioned the topic of how people always ask whats in her hair or what she uses for her hair. Just because it works for her doesn't mean it'll work for you. My friends ask me what I use to get my curls and softness but it's like i can't really help them a lot because they dont have my same exact hair texture

  • im so glad I found you!

what is the best way to find out what your hair type is?

  • btw, in actuality, the hair and scalp can "breathe" under sew-in if the braids are left in for months because of new growth pushing the braids off of the scalp. the last month in a half there will likely be enough growth / sleeping on the hair for the braids to do this.

  • oook. i'm like a year 5 months natural and i'm collar bone length and i just remembered the main reason for going natural and it was dprincess28.. thanks a lot again.

  • I just wanna say i love all of ur videos, i been tranisitioning for about 9 months now, its all because of ur advice and the help of your videos, thank you so much, now im able to deal with my hair much better. Next month i plan on cutting off all the relaxed ends and ill finally be free of relaxers =) yaaay lol thank you so much best wishes. <3

  • well i want my hair like yours how do i get it that way

  • i been pretty much going natural since november 2009 and its not easy at all ! i tried going natural during highschool with wearing braids for 2 years but then i gave in and relaxed it :[ now im doing it during my first year in college going on my second year in college and i been rocking the weave styles for the most part, im not sure if wearing my hair out would look nice since it's short on me :/ do you have any suggestions? your videos are really inspiring me to keep going :D

  • Glue is bad when you RIP out your head instead of using remover,

  • Why are there rules? If someone does not want to go completely kinky, they don't have to. And it is 100% possible to ease you way into natural. There are different degrees of relaxing. If some breaks their new growth down for five minutes to smooth the kink, it will still be kinky. Just less fizzy (depending on the hair texture. I would not recommend it for tighty kinked hair, because it tends to look like dog hair. But hair that is in loose ringettes, all it does is smooth it. To each his own.

  • Okay this is getting me mad as hell. What does her ethnicity have to do with anything? When you keep asking her this just because of her hair, that's insulting. That's basically saying that you doubt her background because either she has lighter skin or decent hair. I mean seriously, STOP asking people their ethnic background all the time >.<"

  • @Dark0Malkavian: I agree. This is 2010. People should know by now you can be 100% black and have curly and or long hair. I get the question so often though that I try not to be offended by it. My channel serves to educate, so I guess that's just something I've resigned myself to do.

  • @DPrincess28 It's ridiculous! I'm not 100% black and I do have decent hair but I just find it hilarious how I'm still being bashed everyday. Plus it's sad because black people as a whole are the first ones to judge me. I'm BLACK the moment anyone looks at my skin but the moment they look at my hair, I'm automatically pushed into the OTHER category. So, it's like I'm a different ethnicity depending on the situation or the event. I hate being judged! I'm just ME, love it or leave it!

  • @DPrincess28 yeh but im Puerto Rican and i have hair that they think is nappi and they treat me like if im black smh

  • @sfefa101 ignore the ignorance of people who are naive. people say the most dumbest things, and just ignore them, and hair is beautiful rather its thick or short or thin and curly.

  • WHAT IS YOUR ETHNICITY??? IF YOU DON'T MIND ME ASKING!!

  • @twigz36 now why does that matter?

  • ur so inspirational, im def. going natural!

  • O u av a texterizer?

  • r u fully black and is ur hair relaxed

  • If done properly ANY weave can be deemed safe...Gluing (or bonding) weave wont cause damage to hair if properly protected i.e. a stocking cap or appropriate removal (professional or more specifically glue removal shampoo) so downing weaves in general is not effective if you think someone will mess your weave up... learn how to do it youselves and save the trouble and the expense

  • how long did it take you too grow your hair that long

  • i think she said 6 yrs in Vol. 1 Part 1

  • hey i'm considering transitioning, but i'm a bit afraid of the process, my hair in it's natural state is a tight curl kinda like micheal jackson back in jackson five, to be honest if i had curls like i would have never put perm. but if u know anyone with tight curls like mine and has gone through with transitioning, i would really appreciate it you could have them over and share their hair journey with me thank you

  • I use to wear ponytails a lot when I had a relaxer. I use to wear it tight because all my hair wouldn't stay in place. I think that it may have damage my hair. The back of my hair didn't stay down. I am not trying to get my scalp to feel better because it still hurts from braids and relaxer.

  • Does your hair afro up? Your hair looks more straight in some areas. How do you get your hair to be bouncy?

  • Thank you!!!

  • I am considering a texturizer, but am kind of afraid. my hair is curly lik Michael Jackson in thriller so its hard to manage sometimes.I hav NEVER had any sort of chemical treatment so im not sure hw my hair will react to this.will being bi-racial(black and white) effect hw it wrks ?my friend had hair lik mine and got a perm and now its just lifeless and thin and dry all the time and i dnt want hair lik tht. i luv my curls, but they consume so much time. any advice or alternitives are welcome.

  • i luv ur vids..ur the best

  • Thank you!

  • i love you. !

    you are my hero. (:

im only 14. and i want longer healthier hair.

    so thank you ! ! (:

  • Aww, that's so sweet of you to say hun. Glad you find my vids helpful :). XOXO

  • I want to get my hair sewn in but im afraid of damage should i still get it??

  • finally, someone with the exact same hair texture as me..i can relate to everything you say. Your beautiful by the way

  • wow!thnx!! i put a texturizer in my hair thinkin tht it would just b natural just mor manageable. i've stopped now after about 2 years and i can tell its all ready growing out cuz the roots r very curly! i dnt even remember my hair being this curly! if i had known it wuz a type of relaxer i wouldnt hav let my mom do it! it wuznt bad but i want my curls back!!

  • Good Information. Oh, I was wondering how you styled your hair when you were transitioning? Also how long would you say it would take for a relaxer to grow out? And also how long did your's take to grow out when you had your last one in 2003?

  • what shampoo and conditioner do you use?

  • the same thing happened to me; i transitioned for 6 months, but decided to cut it really short anyway...it's hella cute but my stylist put a relaxer/texturizer on it...it loosened my kinky coils beautifully and i received lots of compliments but i wanted to go all natural....oh well; i'll just re-grow my hair again and start over.

  • Your hair is so nice. I really like the curls. Have you ever roller set your hair to get a straight look when ever you wanted it that way to keep from using heat?

  • I was wondering what type of hair do do you use?

I wasn't sure if you did a video on hair dyes and I was just wondering if you used natural dyes or what exactly.

    Your hair looks great tho!

  • You obviously weren't paying attention to the issue I was addressing. A texturizer is not the same thing as going natural. I wasn't "knocking" texturizers. I was simply addressing a young lady who said her stylist told her that a texturizer was a way to ease into natural hair. You can go from relaxed to natural by ceasing getting relaxers period.

  • Even if the stylist is "a natural hair" stylist beware. I went to one of them to get my big chop and hey chopped off way more than what needed to be but. Listen to or at least consider what DPrincess28 is talking about. The girl knows what she is talking about.

  • What's your hair type, because I think we have simliar textures and I'm unsure of where I'm at?

  • good job in keeping that heat off yo head! That's inspiring

  • i used to use glue on hair extensions and i cant get the glue out =/ do you knwo whta i can use to get it out? <3

  • Lots and lots of oil. When I had a full head weave, the young lady used glue on the closure part (It was on top of the weave, not my hair, but it was still a pain to take out!). I kept soaking the spot in oil and it eventually came out. I think they sell the remover--which is an oil, at beauty supply stores.

  • thanks girl so much

  • before i became a natural, 2 years ago for my senior prom i got my first weave [glue in, only 4 tracks]. i couldn't even keep it in a week before i decided to get it out of my head. it was a tedious process and took me about a good 3 days to take out the hair and glue [due to my lack of experience with weave]. not only that but one track pulled out about a good half-inch of hair out of my head. thank the lord i was blessed with long full hair that covered it. never again!! lol.

  • I've used that Style n Shine on twist-outs. So it will be interesting to see your review.

  • I like your hair curly. You have a pretty curl pattern. Something seems to define my curls more is bentonite clay. It's all natural and it can be bought at any wholes food store.

  • i am very proud and happy that your hair is getting back to tip top shape. and also i just want you to know that you are a very smart and i hope and pray the best for you and ur hair in the coming months.

  • Thanks hun, that's so sweet of you!

  • I love your hair texture. What products did you style it with in this video? Also, what is the product that the subscribers are referring to below? Thanks, great vid!

  • Thanks hun. It's the same product I talk about in the video.

  • Great Video and love the makeup look!

  • u are beautiful

    skin hair , plus intelligent

how do u get such smooth skin

    great videos

  • Thanks hun! Muuah!

  • hey girl i have a question. i know you workout & so do i. i can't do cowashes though because i only wash my hair once a week. what is another way that i can keep my scalp clean? should i get dry shampoo or are there any other options you could give me? thanks!

  • Hey miss. I've heard of folks using witch hazel, baking soda, and baby wipes on the scalp to keep it clean without shampooing, but I've never tried any of those methods. I highly recommend rinsing the hair and or doing co-washes, but other than that, I can't really say. Sorry ;(

  • To cleanse your hair and your scalp you can do a Bentonite clay treatment. Of course this is not something you do daily or even weekly. More like once a month (at equal tiimes of the month to make sure it's actually been a month between treatments) or even further periods apart. It does not strip hair like some shampoos may do undercover. Always test it though, each head is different. :)

  • you need to go back to the store and buy like 3 more bottles of that. I used it before...great stuff, and then everytme i went back to the store...sold out. then they discontinued selling it cuz they couldnt keep up with the demand. while you have a store that has it...get as much of it as you can.

  • Girl, I was thinking the same thing! But then I was like, "Calm down," you don't even know if you'll like it yet, LOL!

  • oh you gonna like it. and if you cant find it anymore...you gonna be mad. if i knew where in cincinnati i could get like a case of it, i would buy it. Walgreens and Walmart stopped carrying it up here. went to the beauty store and they jacked the price and then said we wont have this product long....and now they dont.

  • they also try this lie: a baby perm will help you transition" a stylist will try anything to keep that money coming in.

  • i bought that gel a few weeks ago. but, i tried not to use it too much bc it does have alcohol in it.

  • Everything that I've read about heat on the hair scares me so it will be a long while before I do that so good choice. I think your hair is soooo cute curly anyway, but it's pretty when you straighten it too. :)

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks for the advice, I fired my stylist..... and i got some products that I like ...LOVE LOVE H2o products

  • Girl, you sure are right. I tried that Silk and Curl creme gel on my hair last summer when my hair was shorter, it was good for some curl def., don't remember why I didn't continue. Guess I was still searching for that " Holy Graile". I haven't used it for a min., maybe I'll try it again since I still have a 1/2 bottle left from last summer. Nice vid as usual, your hair looks cute !!

  • Thanks!

  • thanks for the info about the texteruser. i was told it was diff from a relaxer but what you said really makes sense

  • Have you ever thought of blowing your hair out to get it straight instead of flat ironing? I have a tighter curl pattern than you and a blow dryer and round brush do the trick for me, so I'm sure it would work for you.

Just thought I'd throw that out there because I know you're trying to avoid heat. Well, it's still heat, but not direct heat :)

  • You always look so nice. Your hair clips are cute!

  • Thanks hun! Those are little girl clips. I was afraid they'd make me look too young, but then I thought, what the heck! ;)

  • You're welcome! Lol

  • As always, you do an awesome job.

  • Thanks!

  • nice vid
