one factor being forgotten into quality related aspects is the culture of the users or country to where the software is sold. quality is very subjective and the level of testing to be covered on a certain software will surely depends on the priority relating to time, cost and preferences. software testing is really very hard that's thy there's no such formal discipline or courses in schools.
James or Pradeep speaks about good stuffs. However, the way they convey their message is quite unprofessional and hurting.
Also, James Bach cannot comment on the quality of testing in India or Asian continent.
It's the clients from his country or continent who demand such kind of methodologies. I dare to say this, when he dares to comment on our testing. Understandably, there is an issue with the way testing has been seen. But it's the professional's duty to make us understand in a proper way...
Tester's mean salaries is lower than dev, but the top 25% gets more than the top 25% of devs. That means...there are a lot of bad testers out there and testing...is not easy.
No doubt. James Bach is definitely the man as far as software testing goes. Reading his articles and watching his videos really make me want to learn my craft.

Do politicians ever read their documents before cramming it down the public's throat via laws they vote into being? Health Care Bill, anyone?

James Bach loves saying that almost every testing text book is full of mis-information.
Has he read every software testing book in the world? I doubt it.
Watch his body language when he says it.
Does he really expect people to beleive only he has some kind of secret knowledge about how to test software ?
