Anyone with broken bones, chest pain, stoke symptoms always come first. There are only so many ER docs available at one time, so you just have to wait your turn. And yes, they do see more than 1 at a time.
Do the U.S. hospitals not have wait times sometimes, or do they all have an unlimited # of doctors available at an instant. I myself have had to go a few times (broken arm and teeth at work, broken ankle, chest pains, and have always been seen very quickly, with a pretty busy waiting room.. I am Canadian too, in a city with a 1 fair sized hospital and the nearest large city is Edmonton, 300 miles S.E. of here.. The health care here is excellent.
