that season was a big step for us, i knew we werent gonna go far in the playoffs, but it lifted alot of weight off my shoulders to see my rangers make the playoffs that year. and then its funny to see how all you devils fans brag about this so much, and then look at what happened last year. 12-0-2 against the devils. when you play a team 14 times in one season+playoffs, i'd expect at least one win in regulation, ya know?

They should try winning more than 1 Cup in 60+ years instead of being more concerned with popularity. They take Gomez from the Devils, the Devils lose Rafalski and they are still going to win the division while the Rags scrap to try to make the playoffs.The Devils will have more Cups overall than the Rags in no time. And the Broadway Bozos started way back in the 20's. LOL.
As for "devils fans are more obsessed w/the Rangers than their own team"- I read "Devils Sweep Rangers" and wanted to see it. Maybe the ranger fan was hoping that the past was some how changed. MSG does not sell out everytime (just look @ all the empty blue seats!)- as for #'s of fans, Of course! NYC has close to 10 Million people living right around the corner from MSG! And it is one of the 'biggest' cities on the planet. (Again, it's heart, not numbers).

Rangers keep buying whomever is on top at the moment; be it Gretzky or Lindross or Jagr or etc... Just shows how great ice Hockey is. You can not have 1 great player win the prize. You need a team.

Devils fans are more obsessed with the Rangers than with their own team. When I would go to a Devils-Rangers playoff game in Jersey, my friends and I would walk up to the box office on the DAY of the game and get tickets easily. Devils fans are few and far between. Ticktes are MSG would sell out instantaneously. No matter how many Cups the Devils win, they will NEVER surpass the popularity of the Rangers in the area....
