Black Convey is a a Drone construct in the image of Optimus Prime to spread fear on Decepticons in battle,hower is stron as the original Otimus Prime.

So Black Convoy is a Autobot Drone and not Optimus Prime(Convoy).

This would be better if it had a working Black Convoy trailer. It is a pretty cool figure, though. I like the black on this figure. It looks good on him.

I think the reason of why does it have an Autobot insignia instead of a Decepticon, is because, to trick the other Autobots that Black Convoy is an Autobot. It would be easier to destroy the Autobots then.

The tradition of black recolor history started itself back in 1978 when a Japanese toy company, Popy made a black recolor of Brave Raideen, an anonymous super robot in their Chogokin line which is more limited than the regular version and somewhat gears towards older collectors. The tradition continued until now when Bandai reintroduces us to Black Raideen as a Soul of Chogokin toy. I was never into repaints but if if was a black-colored Raideen, I'll definitely be getting it exclusive or not!

this is my understanding of it.I know it may seem a little odd that black convoy has red eyes and a autobot mark on it but he is not a autobot. He is a decepticon. the reason why they put a autobot mark on it is because he has a power to cange his color to look lik optimus. so if optimus is out black convoy can com in and find out what the autobots are planing to do or when an attack will happen. like i seed this is my under standing of it.

@oceanaire39 Not even a little bit correct. This figure represents one of 21 identical drones which are modelled after Optimus Prime. They all have the black armor that Optimus Prime donned in the similarly eHobby-exclusive THS-01B toy figure. Most are controlled by Flipsides, one by Daniel.

Not all black repaints are evil, and not all black Optimus Prime repaints are evil. Some are just black versions of Optimus Prime, like the original Jafcon one is, the one that started the whole thing.

This video is showing the "Hong Kong" version, that is, the toy as sold prior to the printing of the comic.

You are wrong. The "Hong Kong" version is just the pre-release version. It was sold without the comic, and was released almost 3 months early.

The official version through E-hobby contains the plaque AND the comic.

which is just as good as the real one apart from the hands and feet are different colours and the energon axe is clear

Since the comic has come out, it has been determined that this version of Black Convoy is meant to be an "Eldroid." This is supposedly a drone in the shape of Optimus powered by a human, possibly Daniel Witwicky?? Don't quote me please, but try to find out more for yourself!

I do not actually own a loose MP-02 so it wasn't hardwired into my memory. However, it is fairly obvious that MP-02 is not a white version of Optimus Prime, it is in fact naked Magnus.

I own the Car Robots Black Convoy (Japanese RID Scourge) and he has inverted autobot symbols on him (That why I got him) Personally I consider Black Convoy to be an Anti-Autobot in differ to a Decepticon. Wonder if anyone else shares my point of view on that matter :3
