NRDC is sloppy in it's approach to Action Letters. It turns out they don't send letters but instead posts the letters as "comments" to government agencies who are required to post all comments. Those comments are posted online as pdfs with you name, address, email address and yes your phone number. This is the dirty little secret NRDC fails to tell you. So if you don't want your personal info picked up by web crawlers then don't sent action letters for NRDC. If you complain NRDC stonewalls you.

Clearly what we need is for the entire population to be behind these "Green" ideas, but the sad truth is that it's highly unlikely we wont until we've done damage that everyone sees rather than reading or hearing about.

I love Sigourney Weaver. She was on a tv show to talk about acid test and the guy kept on bugging her about avatar, avatar. Sigourney just stops and goes, "listen, i can come back in december to talk about avatar, but i want to talk about something more important, acid test." I swear the look on that man's face...slap!
