Jesus didnt rebuke them because of their prosperity, he rebuked them because of what it had done to them.The desire for more was in Eve before there was a devil. In fact, it wasn't until the possibility for multiplication existed that the devil even showed up in Genesis. I'll go so far as to say that increase is a command given by Jesus. If christians use the gifts God has given them, rewards are guaranteed, 100 fold...What is wrong with that and how does poverty glorify God? Mt 19.

I just found out about this man on YouTube a couple of weeks ago. No offence to Bro Ravenhill and no support for the far out prosperity preachers but that is not exactly the rebuke Jesus gave. He was not rebuking them for having prosperity but rather because they thought they had it all because of their prosperity, not seeing that money and things is not a substitute for spiritual wealth. If God was against prosperity then he is against Abe, Isaac, Jacob, David, Solomon etc. He - God made them all very wealthy but they did not set their hearts or faith on it.

The devil is getting what he wants, Preachers are arguing with each other, and forgetting that not everybody is "a hand", or "a foot". Not everybody has the same measure of faith, of love, not everybody has the same gift. Preach Jesus, preach the Word. Stop arguing.

because the prosperity became greed in their hearts, and they worship the love of money. living abundatly doesnt mean rich, but no lack of a job, no lack of food, no lack of a roof, clothes etc. But there are people who suffer persecution, and they lack those things, yeti believe they dont need to endure. He is strong for them. When Jesus is the center of your life, nothing else matters.

@ovidiutu Indicating he was rich in Heaven, gave up Heaven and all it's glory and became poor when he came to Earth, so that we might also attain riches in Heaven when we get there. Matthew 6:19-21 Spiritual prosperity, not worldly [Read: Financial] prosperity. The Earth by the way, will be destroyed Revelation 21:3-5 and note also in the beginning Adam and Eve were naked, not clothed in expensive cloth. That will be restored.

taking a 20 second clip can SO be taken out of context. what verse is he reading from too? that's one sentence in the Bible. the Bible also says there is no God, in Proverbs. but we must read the *context* not take it out of context. a vast problem that people have when discussing prosperity, in my humble opinion, is taking things out of context. we need to read the context of all phrases, in the Bible and out, those of politicians and of God's. all words need to be taken in the context.

Prosperity is a blessing of God no doubt on that. It is not at all wrong to be prosperous through a honest business or a job but when one breaks God's word in order to prosper it is wrong/sin. The worst is when a preacher preaches on prosperity with a motive to make more money and live in luxury,

If Ravenhill had preached this in a mega church he would not have been invited back. Life teaching and wealth and economic prosperity has replaced true Biblical sound preaching of the Gospel and has perverted the actual meaning of what Church is for.
