@JxT1957 Yea man it sucks.. Looks like they got away with it though. Its been about a month and still nothing. The entire layout: all gone. I've started over though. Keeping the new Lionel set pretty small and building a little HO layout as well. Just three locos and a handful of cars for the lionel so far..

can any 1 help me. one of my lionel swiches is constantly on. like its always trying to flip the points even when theres no controler hooked on the swich. so if any one can help that would be nice.

if its fastrack or a regular lionel its probalbly a wire is loose or the little momory board in it is broke just take off the layout flip over and onscrew see if all wires are tight or if board is broke could just be a bent wire from the switch to the track

you build it yourself or hire a professional to build it for you, but that can cost thousands.

well, you dont "go and get" a layout, you build it yourself! Typically you start small(4x8 is a good starting out size) and then work your way up while along the way learning about the wiring scenery e.c.t. But be prepared to spend some money, especially if youd like sum 1 else to do it. All part of the hobby.

MTH is far superior quality and it is made in Asia as is Lionel. Lionel has not been build in the USA for years. In fact MTH now build Lionels tinplate. After they were sued by MTH for trade secrets and lost, they almost went under.

I'm pretty sure it's for the power, so the engine can move, the outer to rails just guide it. On the bottom of the engine and some of the other cars, there is a little wheel of some sort.

The track was originally 2 railed, one side negative and one side positive. This became a problem when you set up the track to turn around and merge with itself because the negative rail would touch the positive rail and it would short out. They solved this by adding a middle rail. The middle rail is positive and the outside rails or negative.

The difference is Lionel made in USA, MTH made in CHINA. Lionel been in the USA for many years. MTH started not to long ago, very different quality.

Lionel was the last hold out of the train companys to still make trains in The USA but they are currently sub-contracted to factories in china. MTH has ALWAYS been made overseas, they currently "own" factories in china Korea etc
