You guys realize saying "I have a quadcore cpu" is like saying "My GPU has 2GB DDR5 memory!"
Yeah, big fucking whoop. That means shit all in terms of actual processing power. I mean yes, quadcores are faster than single/dual, but that doesn't mean they're all equivalent.
Love how people keep thinking it's your computer's fault.
It's not. My GTS 250 GPU, dual core @ 3GHz CPU can run this piece of trash smoothly, mostly because I keep my task list clean. A quad would be more than enough, IF ONLY the developers actually bothered testing for compatibility.
.
The game is a mess. It chews up unnecessary memory and CPU, it doesn't clean up after itself, it was basically designed on a high-end machine with no regard for the majority of the medium rigs out there today.
ive got a GeForce 550 ti, Windows 7 64 bit, Sabertooth P67 motherboard, i7 with 8 cores of 3.4 GHz, 8 RAM of memory and 500 GB of Hard Drive and i run on 50-70 FPS with max graphics settings on all the settings
I run this game smooth as butter on a dual core Athlon (2.8), 4 gigs of ram, and a GT 240. You have something on this machine conflicting with this game, that is the only explanation. Whether its your drivers, settings, whatever. Also go into your graphics settings for the game and flip it to high then back to low then back to high (letting it load all the way up each time). This helps with alot of machines for some reason. Though this should not be running this bad even with that issue.
@nervecentral Hey, I Have litterally the same rig as you haha and i was just wondering before i buy this how much fps and what graphics setting are you on?
giv eit 2 to 3 months this game will b done for, reason being, bioware is gonna do nothing about this, and hasnt said nothing about the topic so meain,no fix, gg.
I am seriously impressed that you became a level 50 with that crappy fps rate. I'm mainly having fps issues in pvps where they are between 1-24 on low settings. I've tried almost everything and while my machine isnt really top of the line it far exceeds the minimum requirements.
Running the game as administrator, compatibility mode, etc already makes a difference for many people. What I've found on google/forums after hours of browsing how to fix it, I can make you a full list of things I've tried and send it to you if you like, maybe 1 of those solutions will fix something for you.
I've had severe FPS issues that made it unplayable on a laptop that has around recommended specs. In Warzones I'm forced to play on 1280x800 instead of my native 1680x1050 resolution. However with the fixes I just listed, I managed to get my FPS up with around 300%. I suggest you to play around with client_settings.ini and test which settings improve what. Yes I know others have issues, so do I. However, you can do a lot yourself. It can already make a difference if you update your cpu driver ;)
You are not alone. The kids in my Warcraft guild who begged me to buy this game are all back on Warcraft because they have the same exact problem. I suspect hundreds of thousands of people whose systems far exceed the minimum requirements are experiencing this problem. It is inexplicable that I can run Rift, Skyrim, and Battlefield 3 on Ultra, and can't play this game on low settings due to the same FPS issues you are having.
Don't tell him to get a better computer when you know nothing about graphics cards obviously... he has a GTX 560, a card that should be able to run this game smoothly with no problems at all, and yet he and countless others are having FPS issues, even with top end rigs. Just look at the forums, there are topics with thousands of posts relating to this issue.
@Chokeasmurf47 i just built a pc about a month ago for this game i got an i5 2500k 8gigs of ram windows 7 64bit and a gtx 550 and i avg 50 to 70 fps sometimes i get up to 100 the lowest it goes is 30 to 40 but it almost never goes that low
@Chokeasmurf47 There is obviously something wrong with his machine. I get Higher Fps than that during 100v100 battles on ilum.. He should look into his issue. Its not 100% the games fault.

How about get a better computer? You can't complain if your hardware is already slow and your computer is stuffed up with spyware from browsing porn. I ran SWTOR on an ancient machine built back in 2005-2006 and still got 12+fps.
@danny0587rs I have almost the same setup, quad core, 8gigs ram, win 7 64bit, but i got the gtx 550, i've never had any problems with the framerate or the game looking like it does for you. something is obviously not right on your system.
Did you even google for fixes? For example, All on high then on low so it creates a missing file and fixes your fps. Upgraded DirectX? Running as administrator? Tried Game Booster? Running in XP SP 3 compatability? Disabled Visual Themes? Disabled Desktop Composition? Tried turning off shadows? Updated Drivers? Tried playing around with graphic settings to fix it? Or did you by accident fuck up certain driver settings? (force AA for example)
@kjarli Tell that to the several hundred thousand individual posters who have cited the same exact problem on the customer service forums. We have tried hours upon hours of tweaking our more-than-proficient systems just to run this game in a playable state to no avail. It wouldn't be as bad if Bioware would make a comment regarding this known issue, rather than ignoring it, and leaving players in the dark as to whether or not they can ever play this game.

I dont see your processor speed, but anything less than 3.0ghz will bottleneck and slow your system,

@Talven81
all self fixes have been tried.
This is not my first issue with the game that is server side.
Running a quad core processor with 8 gigs of ram, and GTX 560 video card with 2 gigs of DDR5. Also running under Windows 7, 64 bit.
