@XxAngiexXRPI I wouldn't say Sonic's model went under a drastic change either. All that changed was the length of his spikes, his eye color, height, and his shoes. Most of those make sense though cause you would think someone would go under changes in appearance as they get older, also the changes they made to him are so minor that it isn't worth getting mad over, he still looks basically the same way as before...
I played this for my iPod, so I know a little bit about it. I will say that it's definately not as good as some other sonic games, because it had too much original 4 sonics, but I do have to say that it is EXACTLY like the originals, besides the homing attack. And if there is, and you don't like it, DON'T USE IT! It is yet another sonic game of the bunch, but this one is different. This one, while playing it, reminded me of the classics.

I seriously can't take the fanbase anymore. When this game was announced all I heard was, "SOWIK HAS GWEEN EYES! THIS IS THE WORST GAME EVAR!" The fanbase has got to stop. I bet they're still people complaining about Generations by saying its not sonic because it has "HD graphics." I've even heard people say that they wished Sega would make a 16bit 2D sonic game instead of Sonic 4. Now when Sonic CD got a remake people complained about the timeline, AND questioned why Tails was playable. WHAT!?!

Sonic generations is the perfect sonic game really and they proved that modern is better than classic for me because he has speed, platforming and 3d. i love it. Sonic 4 was lazy but it wasnt downright awful. The sonic fanbase sucks.

sega has made some sonic games in recent years that are not great the only one that i hated was sonic 06 the rest were a pass. I did buy sonic 4 and it is a great game. "Eggman" was Robotnick's original name. The American Sonic team just changed it becuase they thought "Robotnick" sounded more intimadating. I have the classic collection for the DS and he's called Eggman there too. I always thought Sonic & Kunckles was Sonic 4. So techinaly wouldn't this new game be Sonic 5? That's just me though. If I was into the newer games or the games at all (I got into Sonic via the cartoons) I would probably call them all in the order they came out.
I think Sonic 06 is the scapegoat of the series. Because when it first came out in 2006 the people including video game critics and fanbase would then bashing, insulting, verbly abuse, and throw their "evil ways" onto the game. Basically a scapegoat could be person, place, or a object. People need to look the damages of scapegoating, not only Sonic 06 is the scapegoat but the fanbase who are bashing, and it could harm our community. I got every chaos emerald and beat this game and all, I didnt pass judgement until I beat the game. but Im still dissapointed, it's not a worhty sequel to Sonic 3.
Oh and I didnt even notice that they changed the color of Sonic's eyes, it would make more sense to have the eyes the same color as sonic 3 since it's supposed to be a direct sequel

@TheDevilBreaker dude Mario is not that great they give you the same thing over and over again thats the problem with nintendo, a perfect example is Mario Kart Wii it has all the same stages from previous Mario Kart games they even tell you which Mario Kart it is from. the only different games they made are the party games the sports games and the 3D adventures and that changed with Mario Galaxy 2. but on the other hand Sega has done something new & different with every Sonic game.

Some people don't know the term "Classic Sonic." And also, I see nothing wrong with Modern Sonic in Sonic 4 ep 1. I mean really, Hyper Sonic had green eyes and used the homing attack. And look, see the color eyes of Super Sonic from Sonic 2 to Sonic3andKnuckles? Black to green. Modern Sonic got that change. I see nothing wrong with Sonic 4.

Listen man, we all have our opinions as you are stating yours. I share the opinion that Sega has been trying hard yes, but has tried to juggle too many characters and ideas and ended up breaking some (like Knuckles and Eggman/Plot Development). I think what Sega needs to do is to after generations spend more time per game instead of getting it out before the holidays and just create a game like Sonic Adventure 3. I hope they can pull their stuff together because the Sonic series is brittle now.

I loved Sonic 4, it certainly lived up to it's name. It definately reminded me of the classic genesis era. But people go around saying that Sonic has sucked for over 10 years. I guess they havent played Sonic on the GBA or DS.

i am a hardcore sonic fan. i own and have played almost every sonic game and people complain about Sonic 4. If people complain about Sonic Generations then i will go crazy. I have never had a problem with a sonic game and i never will. i love the classics and the newer ones the same.
I actually own a copy on my IOS, and it was a good game. The only problem I had with it was, after a few months of owning it, it eventually crashed. But still it was good. I ALWAYS knew this game had potential from the start.

Sonic the Hedgehog 1991 was the first game I ever played and I loved it and grew up with him and still love him. Btw Sonic generations looks awesome! :P

Just look at the new Castlevania game, "Harmony of Despair," for those of you that haven't heard of it... They did pretty much what Sega did for this game, they put the 2-D gameplay in, but left the 3-D-ish models for the characters, and you don't see all of the Castlevania lovers rageing. GET OVER IT
@ArchyTheNub Something to add to that comment, the only things different--other than making the models 3-D in the Castlevania game--was giving you Co-Op play with X-Box Live(Its only available on the Arcade X-Box, btw) and leting you zoom out from your character to see the entire castle, which can be useful because some of the stage bosses take up half the castle, but the Co-Op play with live makes the game to easy, since they dont increase dificulty for every new person in the level.

Because the kids who grew up playing them are much older now and they think that they are not giving them what they asked for and they have been doing it at least 90% of the time! I mean god damn, people are older now but they are even more babies then they were when they were kids! Ok seriously. Quit saying original model. There's no such thing. Each game through Sonic1, CD, 2, 3 all had different models. They almost completely redraw it for Sonic 3 even and here you are saying original model. Sonic 4 is fine, but you are wrong in this video.
Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles as the ONLY characters...? Sounds boring to me!!!! People need to realize certain things. You can have Sonic be as 2d as possible, but the game can still suck. there can be GOD forbidden glitches, extremely laggy areas, and very slow anthropomorphic animals(Sonic n' friends)! sega has made some sonic games in recent years that are not great the only one that i hated was sonic 06 the rest were a pass. I did buy sonic 4 and it is a great game. I think sega knows they havent been making the fans happy so they went back to what did make the fans happy but the sonic fanboys are still pissed off I hope sega does look at what they say so sega will find out they are just looking to bitch and stop trying to impress them with pass games and start making classics again.

"Eggman" was Robotnick's original name. The American Sonic team just changed it becuase they thought "Robotnick" sounded more intimadating. I have the classic collection for the DS and he's called Eggman there too. I always thought Sonic & Kunckles was Sonic 4. So techinaly wouldn't this new game be Sonic 5? That's just me though. If I was into the newer games or the games at all (I got into Sonic via the cartoons) I would probably call them all in the order they came out.

I think Sonic 06 is the scapegoat of the series. Because when it first came out in 2006 the people including video game critics and fanbase would then bashing, insulting, verbly abuse, and throw their "evil ways" onto the game. Basically a scapegoat could be person, place, or a object. People need to look the damages of scapegoating, not only Sonic 06 is the scapegoat but the fanbase who are bashing, and it could harm our community. People need to use their common senses, who are we as fans.

I wouldnt call the game bad but def mediocre. Sonic 3 was better, Sonic 2 was better, Sonic 1 eh Im not sure Ive never beaten that one.
I got every chaos emerald and beat this game and all, I didnt pass judgement until I beat the game. but Im still dissapointed, it's not a worhty sequel to Sonic 3.
Oh and I didnt even notice that they changed the color of Sonic's eyes, it would make more sense to have the eyes the same color as sonic 3 since it's supposed to be a direct sequel

@TheDevilBreaker dude Mario is not that great they give you the same thing over and over again thats the problem with nintendo, a perfect example is Mario Kart Wii it has all the same stages from previous Mario Kart games they even tell you which Mario Kart it is from. the only different games they made are the party games the sports games and the 3D adventures and that changed with Mario Galaxy 2. but on the other hand Sega has done something new & different with every Sonic game.

Some people don't know the term "Classic Sonic." And also, I see nothing wrong with Modern Sonic in Sonic 4 ep 1. I mean really, Hyper Sonic had green eyes and used the homing attack. ok i am a DIE HARD sonic fan. at age 3 sonic the hedgehog 1 was the first game i ever played the same month that the genesis came out and i have stuck with the blue blur for most of my entire life. i think 4 turned out amazingly and for the most part i loved alot of the others that came out (06 for example). the "true fans" need to quit bitching about this. episode 2 is coming out and im buying it...on day 1!! Listen man, we all have our opinions as you are stating yours. I share the opinion that Sega has been trying hard yes, but has tried to juggle too many characters and ideas and ended up breaking some (like Knuckles and Eggman/Plot Development). I think what Sega needs to do is to after generations spend more time per game instead of getting it out before the holidays and just create a game like Sonic Adventure 3. I hope they can pull their stuff together because the Sonic series is brittle now.

I loved Sonic 4, it certainly lived up to it's name. It definately reminded me of the classic genesis era. But people go around saying that Sonic has sucked for over 10 years. I guess they havent played Sonic on the GBA or DS.

Sonic 4 does suck! They should've stopped after Sonic CD, leaving the series on the highest note possible, and leaving Sonic (the iconic Sega character) on a Sega console!! The series up to there were by far the greatest Sonic games made!! Other than Sonic 3D which was the worst in the Sega Master System/MegaDrive era, when Sonic turned 3D on the later consoles, he took a one way ticket to Shitsville!!

I actually own a copy on my IOS, and it was a good game. The only problem I had with it was, after a few months of owning it, it eventually crashed. But still it was good. I ALWAYS knew this game had potential from the start.

I totally agree with this guy... People are fucking ridiculous, they want the old models back and everything even though nearly EVERYTHING is 3-D now. Don't like the new sonic? Don't play the game. Just look at the new Castlevania game, "Harmony of Despair," for those of you that haven't heard of it... They did pretty much what Sega did for this game, they put the 2-D gameplay in, but left the 3-D-ish models for the characters, and you don't see all of the Castlevania lovers rageing. GET OVER IT

@ArchyTheNub Something to add to that comment, the only things different--other than making the models 3-D in the Castlevania game--was giving you Co-Op play with X-Box Live(Its only available on the Arcade X-Box, btw) and leting you zoom out from your character to see the entire castle, which can be useful because some of the stage bosses take up half the castle, but the Co-Op play with live makes the game to easy, since they dont increase dificulty for every new person in the level.

The games haven't been entirely bad, people just keep looking for a reason to hate it. As Ive played and Beaten Sonic 4 I love the game myself. But again, I am part of the minority.

I know Sonic fanboys are going to attack me, but first off; I am a Sonic fan. His image was altered because he grew up by 5 years, according to a web search I did. So stop bitching about him getting his modern build for the game.
