To be fair, that solo is done by Eddie Van Halen and it is one of the best solos of his career, which is saying a lot. There is nothing simple about the solo it is pretty fast and technical. Fall Out Boy does a great job of covering that song, and while that solo is noticeably absent they deserve credit for rocking the song as well as they did. Plus I doubt AbsoluteZ3RO could play it(prove me wrong if you can.)

I love Fall Out Boy, their music is great, but I can't agree they are more talented than Green Day. From a musician point of view, I can easily see that the songs are not made to be singed by a man, some notes are too high, and Patrick is deploying incredible efforts to reach them, making them sound bad when playing live. You can also see that Fall Out Boy's lyrics are always in the same subjects, always talking about girls. No, they can't be more talented than Green Day.

True,the songs are written by Pete and the songs that do sound good most of the time in live shows are written by Patrick,but not necessarly every live show is bad by Patrick,it's just they are way over doing him. Some of there songs are about how the media is turning them into sell outs and they don't have anything to do about it. I dont think either band is more talented, theyre just different.
