I'm a big fan of Mos Def but he's wrong in "Rock n Roll". Elvis and the Stones never claimed to invent rock and roll, they just took credit for the stuff they DID invent. They weren't mere rip-off artists, they were unique in their own ways. "Satisfaction" is a lot different than any Little Richard song, and the Stones should be given credit for their horn-like guitar sound, which they DID come up with on their own. It's not "stealing", it's artistic inspiration. Mos Def's brain is overrated.
