  • muse are unreal leave it out

  • Thanks, dude! :)

  • Kudos for putting the video up, but you really should be using your pinkie.

  • Dont make a tutorial of a song you can't play properly. Use your pink, don't learn beginners wrong :/

  • when i first heard about this song i heard it as plug in bitch so i went into the music shop and was like gimme plug in bitch........ that night i got laid!

  • you have small hands.

    me too.

so its hard for me to try this. :/

  • MAte are you indian?!

  • @firex148

indian? no, I'm mainly white with a little mexican.

  • i like your work! do you have any other videos.?

  • @roxani94 check my channel haha

  • the notes are the same... but the position doesn't sound right. I found a great tab at ultimate guitar dot com. For Guitar Pro 5. Well... your almost there dude... just keep on practicing!

  • theres a wayyyy simpler way to play it... your moving your hand too much.. just keep your hand in the starting position and use your four fingers.. and use 3 strings

  • You should always start young..

  • Can I... date you? Just wondering.

  • i liked it but not explained enough.

  • um if u look at other vids they play it diffrently :/

  • what key is it played in

  • it is one of the amazingingiest songs in the wold

  • the riff notes are wrong, but it doesnt sound any different

  • it sounds wrong........maybe its just my speakers.........

  • wrong notes kid.

  • The quality of the video is rubbish! :(

  • what i wanna learn is the part right before the riff. the weird electronic sound stuff. how do you do that?

  • @KenSkaii I'm not sure, actually. If you find out, feel free to let me know as well =)

  • @duck97

what worked for me is to use a coin as a pick and just drag it along the strings upwards...

I think a regular pick might work too.. not sure :/

  • @duck97 he does the thing ur on about with the plugon cord it wobbles it near the speaker giving it a weird feed back sound :) enjoy

  • @duck97 its done by matthews guitar, he has a synthesiser built onto his guitar, which he uses alot for awesome lines and shizz :)

  • @duck97 the sound before the riff is imposible to play it's a fuzz factory pedal. it's a really expensive pedal is't like 250,- euro it's hand made and hand painted. the fuz factory pedal makes a random noise witch you can't controle that's what makes it the coolest pedal ever :p (ps sorry for my bad english I'm only a dutch guy ;) )

  • @suddendeath04 thanks, I'll keep that in mind...man, I have so many things I want to buy that I can't afford.

  • @KenSkaii chaos pad or an effects studio or a combination of effects pedals.

  • @KenSkaii its a bunch of pick slides

  • @KenSkaii it's a fuzz factory that matt has built into his guitar, quite pricey apparently to get one though. A good alternative may be a pitch shift pedal probs

  • @KenSkaii Bellamy uses a Kaoss Pad strapped to the bottom of his guitar, youtube it, they are amazing.

  • @KenSkaii you just tap the strings and use a fader peddle

  • @KenSkaii Probably just feedback or matt's MIDI controller

  • @KenSkaii

You need a Fuzz Factory pedal by Zvex effects. You play around with the stab (stability) and comp (compression) dials. Both the gate and drive dials I normally have at the 12 - 1 o clock position. Hand painted Fuzz factories are about £200 ($316) and machine finished are £130 ($205) at present. Obviously if you wire the pedal into your guitar it saves bending down to the foot pedal to turn the dials. Manson's guitars sort this custom install. (Matt and Chris of Muse use them.)

  • Why do so many people play it without their pinky on youtube? It seems much harder.

  • @kinversoni I would but I knacked my pinky mountainboarding. Damn hurts to use it :(

  • @kinversoni it is

  • using your pinky helps alot

  • before you make a tutorial, play the riff right lol

  • dude muse are unreal what are you smoking ?

  • I learned the riff like a month after I got a guitar. The first time I played it perfectly I broke my first string too

  • HOW did you get the intro wrong!?

  • this song IS one of the best what are you talking about

  • jajajajajajajajajajajaja

  • the intro is so wrong ¡¡¡¡¡

  • good vid, some parts are wrong though

  • Are you usin a flanger pedal?

  • @ShaunJ4Y1873

If you're new to guitar, I don't recommend this being your first song, because it's tricky. But you can try it.

  • Great stuff man. You helped a lot, and you're insane with that tune!

  • Hey ive just got my first guitar and this is the very first song im learning is this ahard song to learn for a beginner?

  • @ShaunJ4Y1873 yes. itll take you a very long time to be able to play it at full speed. definitely start with simpler songs.

  • yeah i can play the intro quite well even tho im just starting out but not at full speed yet lol but i think im good enough just 2 practice this song easier songs will just b 2 easy xD and ye this tut has helped a lot ty could u make 1 of say stockholme syndrome coz thts a song i wanna learn too

  • @ShaunJ4Y1873 woah how long have you been playing? you don't sound like a beginning to me, if your a beginner you've got a lot of potential.

  • this song is acutally meant to be played differently... it sounds alots smoother and is actually easier to play the normal way. peace.

  • gay!

  • Magic mucker nice & slow .

  • mother fucker, learn to play

  • MUSE R GREAT AND SO IS THIS LESSON

  • learnt the speed of this within an hour, great video, couldnt find decent tabs for this! thanks :D

  • This is not actually how matt himself plays it.. You've made it a little more difficult but whatever works is fine I guess.

  • wow man...Thanks! great tutorial for song....YES!

  • there's a much easier way to play this. you can keep your hand in pretty much the same position throughout the entire riff.

  • Agreed, and by the way, look at the top rated one on ultimate guitar- dunno where this version came from :P much more difficult and unnecessarily so. That's Matt's secret- it all sounds showy, but its actually all in the pacing- the riffs themselves aren't that complicated once you break them down- which is why they are so appealing.

  • Thanks a lot!!!

  • thanks, the best tutorial i´ve found for this song

  • great for making tutorial for this song!.. i enjoy it

  • Really great man ive bee trying to find a good a followable lesson on plug in baby for a while. the ones on ultimate guitar sounded off. thanks again man

  • Cheers, this really helped me lot!

  • Thanks everyone!

  • best tutorial

    awesome job :D

  • i got that same guitar strap! i got it today!!!!!!

  • Wow! thanks a lot for the video, you're awsome!

    :)

  • o.o!!

  • Hopefully one day I can be able to do something like this .. I don't even know how to play one chord yet and I've had my guitar for 4 months :P

Anyways, you have the best tutorials! So clear :D

  • thanks =)

    good luck to ya!

  • i play for 3 months and i can do the initial part of tornado of souls. Chords are different from scales, chords are more hand muscles and requires time, scales or riff like this u must play it slow and in one week u got it in full speed! its about automatic movements! so try it slow and go faster!
