what does that gesture when you have both hands hold up two fingers and you tap them together like on 0:07 and 0:15 mean? i see that a lot everywhere else
I am teaching myself to sign ASL because there is nothing available in my area and I don't know if there are any deaf or HOH people who would be willing to teach me.
I understood a bit of what they were saying, but not very much.
It's a wonderful language to learn, but it's best to meet some deaf people and get all the practice you can if you want to become fluent. I used to interpret many years ago, and I had many deaf friends, and even a deaf roommate so I got lots of practice. That helped me tremendously.
It's much different from English in that ASL has its own grammar and syntax. Of course, you can use SEE, or "Signing Exact English," but that's not what the deaf community uses.
IDK why people are giving you the thumbs down thing because you are correct. In ASL when asking a question you put the question word (who, what, when why....) last or in both the start and end of the question
I Love the convo. made me Feel nosey, but this isn't ASL, it's ESL (English Sign Language). American Sign Language doesnt' sign every word spoken. But nonetheless... :-) it's pretty cool!
This was so cool to watch! I'm teaching myself ASL in school this year as one of my classes--it's good to see what is possible and what I have to learn.
@Dragonas77 kandegal on the comment right before mine said he can do that sort of spelling but he's deaf and blind. SO I thought, if hes blind..how did he watch the video
@xXxEVILxWAFFLESxXx just because you're blind doesn't mean you're deaf. Sign language is usually for deaf people (those who can't hear) and people who can't speak as easily. They can see perfectly fine.
@Soso4729 I know this, I sign, I was responding to the comment left by Kandegal that said I ca do tat sori abut spelling imma deef an blind. So i was curious how he watched the video to know that

I like watching this and having no idea what is going on because I know other people do and feeling that clueless is nice.
