You should put a plow skids on both sides so the blade doesn't rest on the ground as you plow. You could have it raised about a 1/2cm.

i have a murray wide body mower like that and it has 0 traction. filling the tires with antifreeze helps some. are you planning on putting tractor type tires on it?

Very nice, Jay! You should consider about changing the lifting mechanism to stepwise lifting- otherwise you might get stuck someplace with uneven ground.
