The truck stop's site also touts support of REXANO, if that tells you anything. The REXANO people have the mentality of animal horders, no regard for the animals, just the possession of the animals.
I checked out the truck stop's web page. They're basically claiming that Tony is going to be moved to "a wild game preserve somewhere" and that he'll be endangered there. Pretty absurd, but there's a lot of misinformed animal lovers signing his petition, believing that Tony is either going to be put in a canned hunt or is going to suffer emotionally by being pulled away from his owners.

Its funny I was just at that truckstop today and this movie sure does has a bunch of lies first of all there is a concrete floor and if the tiger is on the concrete floor its because it wants to be. There is a huge are of grass and stuff for this animal to roam. This is also one fat cat it looks better thanmost cats Ive seen at zoo's. funny you should mention being black in LA. did you know the owner of this truck stop has a tow service, and one of their wreckers has(or had) a noose hanging on it. this was complained about and they said, 'so what its been there for years'....yeah. anyone can email me for link to this story.

Who said he looks peaceful? What the narrator is saying is at her tiger sanctuary (Big Cat Rescue with 3 acres of land running water pools for them to swim, grass and soft earth underfoot) HER tigers look peaceful (the playful Lion and white tiger with grass underfoot were at her santuary...the lion and white tiger with concrete underfoot were not).

Locking a tiger up in a parking lot as part of a freak show for truck drivers is insane. A parking lot is not remotely like the habitat the animal originated from.

You can never completely domesticate a wild animal, you might think you can but you can't it's as simple as that. I'm not saying we should close down all zoos, good zoos that provide large enclosures, good diets and enrichment for their animals play an important role in education and conservation programs. Still when you take a tiger for example that would roam hundreds of square miles in the wild searching for prey, mate etc... it's sad to see them in enclosures no matter what the size.
Then when you see a tiger "living" in a concrete "enclosure" at a truck stop, breathing in the fumes and listening to the engines all day, a sane person would know that there's something wrong with this.

i stopped in there a few days ago out of curiosity.the tiger looked so fucking miserable being in such a confined space.i must say that it's not a safe place for such a beautiful creature.i hope Iberville Parish will wake up and stop ignoring this issue.

This situation made me so disgusted I had to stop there myself on my way across the country and film it. I had a little chat with some of the employees who, as soon as they saw me filming, told me to leave. They turned out to be rude, paranoid rednecks with no thought whatsoever about the tiger's situation, just their own selfish wants.
I hope they read this and see what I think of them. If you are reading this, owners of Tony, stop your greedy, self-serving ways and let Tony go!

Shameful. An animal like that has an incredibly sensitive sense of smell. To be trapped downwind of gas pumps and idling diesel trucks for 8 years is sublime torture. It most likely has brain damage from the perpetual fumes. I'll bet they wouldn't treat their family dog that way. The owner is ignorant, backward, greedy, cruel, and irresponsible. Throw him in the cage for 5 minutes and see what happens.

The truck stop's site also touts support of REXANO, if that tells you anything. The REXANO people have the mentality of animal horders, no regard for the animals, just the possession of the animals.

I checked out the truck stop's web page. They're basically claiming that Tony is going to be moved to "a wild game preserve somewhere" and that he'll be endangered there. Pretty absurd, but there's a lot of misinformed animal lovers signing his petition, believing that Tony is either going to be put in a canned hunt or is going to suffer emotionally by being pulled away from his owners.

The council voted 11-1 to allow Tiger Truck Stop
owner Michael Sandlin, to keep Tony — a decision that directly opposes parish ordinances restricting private ownership of exotic and dangerous animals.
Sandlin now qualifies for a permit from the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries that will enable him to legally keep the 550-pound tiger — that he has raised since it was a cub — at his truck stop for good.

If he truly loved this tiger, he would want the best for him. A tiger was not meant to live in a squalid cement cage. Hopefully, justice for Tony will soon prevail and he will be living out the rest of his life in comfort and safety at Big Cat Rescue.

Its funny I was just at that truckstop today and this movie sure does has a bunch of lies first of all there is a concrete floor and if the tiger is on the concrete floor its because it wants to be. There is a huge are of grass and stuff for this animal to roam. This is also one fat cat it looks better thanmost cats Ive seen at zoo's. I also went to talk to the owners and I found out the reason why activistis are wanting the animal is because of its white gean that it caries wich is very valuble

No car and truck fumes, no concrete, no moldy water dish, and no signs posted to remind people not to throw objects at him. sabrina went to lsu when she got sick they were doing every thing to get her better and by the time they found the cure for her she was dead about a week before. my mom remebers when she was a cub she was my fav. it was NOTHING to do with where she lived..... and tony was her mate and where he lives is all he knows if u took him away from there he wouldnt know what to do with himself you ppl are so Stupid.. they went there rite after a hurricane thats why it lookd bad stop being assholes

What the narrator is saying is at her tiger sanctuary (Big Cat Rescue with 3 acres of land running water pools for them to swim, grass and soft earth underfoot) HER tigers look peaceful (the playful Lion and white tiger with grass underfoot were at her santuary...the lion and white tiger with concrete underfoot were not).

Locking a tiger up in a parking lot as part of a freak show for truck drivers is insane. A parking lot is not remotely like the habitat the animal originated from.

I posted a vid of Tony and just got some furious comments from a trucker who used ugly foul language and threatened me. Why? I don't know. I simply have a different opinion. I guess he feels threatened that the tiger at one of "his' truckstops might not be there for him to gape at while he refills his truck with diesel.

You can never completely domesticate a wild animal, you might think you can but you can't it's as simple as that. I'm not saying we should close down all zoos, good zoos that provide large enclosures, good diets and enrichment for their animals play an important role in education and conservation programs. Still when you take a tiger for example that would roam hundreds of square miles in the wild searching for prey, mate etc... it's sad to see them in enclosures no matter what the size.

Unfortunately, Tony the Tiger has been condemned to live at the truck stop. The Iberville Parish Council decided to amend the 1993 ordinance.

They just approved him to remain there, however we are still looking to save him from that wretched life. Please join us on facebook at Save Tony The Tiger and sign the petitions noted. i stopped in there a few days ago out of curiosity.the tiger looked so fucking miserable being in such a confined space.i must say that it's not a safe place for such a beautiful creature.i hope Iberville Parish will wake up and stop ignoring this issue.

This situation made me so disgusted I had to stop there myself on my way across the country and film it. I had a little chat with some of the employees who, as soon as they saw me filming, told me to leave. They turned out to be rude, paranoid rednecks with no thought whatsoever about the tiger's situation, just their own selfish wants.
I hope they read this and see what I think of them. If you are reading this, owners of Tony, stop your greedy, self-serving ways and let Tony go!

Use your internet access to learn something, look up the facts and you'll see what Tony's home SHOULD look like, with water, trees and clean air, without trash or rocks being thrown at him!

This is so sad ... is there no end to man's inhumanity? Tony deserves better. I hope the Louisiana WIldlife and Fisheries Department succeeds in removing him to a better life at Big Cat Rescue!

This is just absolutely disgusting. How anyone could allow this Tiger to remain in such deplorable conditions is beyond me. Allow this beautiful animal to live out its remaining days experiencing things that our 'civilized' society robbed him of. If they need a mascot then what is wrong with a synthetic toy tiger. The real macoy should be in his natural surroundings. Not locked up where he is unable to rest and is breathing in vehicle fumes all the time. The so called owners should be locked in Tony's cage 24/7 and see if they can survive.

Shameful. An animal like that has an incredibly sensitive sense of smell. To be trapped downwind of gas pumps and idling diesel trucks for 8 years is sublime torture. It most likely has brain damage from the perpetual fumes. I'll bet they wouldn't treat their family dog that way. The owner is ignorant, backward, greedy, cruel, and irresponsible. Throw him in the cage for 5 minutes and see what happens.
