I admit comparing this game to MvC wasent so good since MvC spawned from the cross overs that capcom did with marvel first one of them being the famous X-men streetfighter ( <3 ) the characters did come from this game design . All in all good review....hope I wrte that all down correctly since im tired as hell -__-;

@hecatomb I compared them because some of the concepts the Marvel vs Capcom series uses had their seeds planted here. Hyper Attacks, Melee Combos, Marvel characters being placed in a straightforward fighting game, etc. I also compared "SVC Chaos: SNK VS Capcom" to the MVC games due to their similar concepts.

On that note, as much as I enjoyed the MVC games, I'm rather perplexed that a third installment. Then again, the Mega Man games have shown Capcom doesn't know when to let a good thing die

@ImpulseKid86 u mean u should compare Marvel vs capcom to xmen, since xmen came out before mvc1, it would make more sense. You cant compare this game to MVC1 since MVC1 wasnt even out yet

i give this game 4/5. i love this game. as for the last review you gave about the bosses, you gota be kidding me. juggernaut is ridiculously easy, i mean you gota try to lose to juggy. a helpful tip is to spam projectiles. magneto can cause some trouble if you are a beginner.  once you learn high hit combos, he's pretty easy. especially if you know how to infinite.

Fox ruined the X-Men franchise by focusing on Wolverine all the time! It was disrespectful to REAL X-Men fans! I wanted to see Cyclops, Beast, Storm, Colossus, and Gambit but unfortunatley Wolverine recieved all the fucking attention! It was bullshit and just plain stupid and wrong for Wolverine to be the sole focus in all three flicks. Worst of all the third one should've been about Cyclops and Jean!

the 60's, 70's, and 80's era of X-Men comics as well as the cartoons Pryde of the X-Men, the classic 90's X-Men series, and X-Men Evolution all depicted the characters as a team of equally important characters but sadly the movies focused solely on Wolverine and now he's getting a spin-off, why they didn't just call it Wolverine IV is beyond me!

Its the opening theme tune used in the X-Men animated series from the early 1990's. I used to have a clean version of it but I ended up losing that, so I had to use the one you hear during the credits.

Marvel Super Heroes used a more refined version of the original X-men COTA V.S engine that felt more stable, with tighter controls. The Marvel Super Heroes engine was then revamped again and later used in the rest of the games released with the Marvel characters in the Capcom V.S. games.

For those that don't know, this was the first game to use the V.S engine that would later be used in the rest of the V.S. games by Capcom (X-men vs Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom ect.)

It was pretty primitive at the time since it was the first version of the engine, and was perfected in my opinion when they released Marvel Super Heroes. If you play Xmen Children of the Atom and Marvel Super Heroes, you'll see some differences, but the overall feel is the same.

I used play this one on the Arcade and I had it for the Saturn. The AI was insanely difficult, practically ruined the game.
