I just finished a school project on the Russian Federation, and I have to say they are a country in recovery and their economy is slowly on the rise. Also, the countries government is planning on becoming a technological super power, so it is possible that we could see more advanced tech coming from the Russian Federation. It would also be nice to see them develope some Environmentally friendly tech as they plan too.
i think after this project is finished we can compare it with the US hig tech jetfighter the JSF....this program takes about 100 billions dollar....i think the result may be shocking........
The JF-17 can be compared with a american F-16 but not with Russian 4th and 4.5 Generation Jets! Pakistan would even lose against India just because they're using Russian Su-33's! American, Russian and European Jets are an other Level...too high for flying Crap like the JF-17 :D

(continued from below) opening in the aircraft appeared so i could apply for it and hopefully make it with the test pilot experiance on my resume. i stoped being a test pilot at the age of 26. which i than had to go through a 9 month training course until i could begin the simulator. i turned 27 eight months into the course. i have now finished all my training and am now on active duty. i actually have to fly out to an air base along the atlantic two weeks from now.

The project 1.44 it only test base for improvement of technologies of a new fifth generation fighter. Some of these people talk like they actually tested the airplane themselves. A fighter is only as good as the pilot behind it. It's like that for any man operated machine. The gap between F22 raptor and Mig MFI is probably very small, judging by the fact that Russians reference from American designs, and Americans from Russians as well. So it comes down to cost. However, I believe the F35 JSF will be superior to these 2 aircrafts due to its vertical takeoff and landing capabilities.
This is probably a fairly capable aircraft, even though only one has been built, and this test flight looks very short. I am a little skeptical of the "plasma stealth" idea...that seems a little farfetched.

The XB-70 was cancelled, because the US thought ICBM's would be a much cheaper and safer way to bomb the USSR, if it had to; and they thought correctly. The XB-70 was just too expensive, on top of the accident where the one fighter flew into the XB-70 and made it crash... that sent the deathblow to the prject. It was a total aeronautical engineering SUCCESS, though.

(continued from below) opening in the aircraft appeared so i could apply for it and hopefully make it with the test pilot experiance on my resume. i stoped being a test pilot at the age of 26. which i than had to go through a 9 month training course until i could begin the simulator. i turned 27 eight months into the course. i have now finished all my training and am now on active duty. i actually have to fly out to an air base along the atlantic two weeks from now.

Just this and I agree that we finish this argument. Everybody in Balkan conflict commited ethnic cleansing (as much as they could). But I fought against Milosevic since 1994 because of that. 70% of Serbs were against him (reasonably). USA airforce is superior to small countries, that is the reason of good "kill to loss ratio". NATO attacked Serbia with over 450 warplanes. Serbia had about 20 mig 29s. USA airforce haven't met the REAL challenge yet, so their combat statistics are irrelevant. I doubt that USA would attack Serbia if we had more Fulcrums and a bit more s300 systems. USA army is one of the most advanced, but when speaking of their operations, they are more bullying than actual warfare.

Some of these people talk like they actually tested the airplane themselves. A fighter is only as good as the pilot behind it. It's like that for any man operated machine. The gap between F22 raptor and Mig MFI is probably very small, judging by the fact that Russians reference from American designs, and Americans from Russians as well. So it comes down to cost. However, I believe the F35 JSF will be superior to these 2 aircrafts due to its vertical takeoff and landing capabilities.

You have to have the airplane knowledge of a 8 year old to think this is a eurofighter.... seriously, the eurofighter is the size of a F-16 roughly, and a MiG, pretty much any modern MiG is about the size of a F-15.

You only have to look at Russia's arsenal of anti-ship missiles (over a dozen models, mostly super- and hypersonic) compared to the US' arsenal (one obsolete, 30 year old, subsonic weapon system). You only have to look at the fact that most US companies use Russian rockets for heavy lift to orbit. It wasn't unsucessful because it was supposedly bad design. In fact, the XB-70 CRUISED at mach 3 (MACH THREE - THREE TIMES THE SPEED OF SOUND! YES, YOU READ RIGHT!) for a HALF AN HOUR in 1967. Russia / USSR could only DREAM to do such a thing even today, let along 1967. lol! US > Russia when it comes to aeronautical engineering. SR-71 = cruised mach 3 for over an HOUR!

The Mig-25 hit mach 3 over Israel, but landing in Egypt, it had its engines blown out. LOL! Sorry buddy, learn the difference. The REDLINE limit speed for the Mig-25 was mach 2.83! The pilots were even warned to not even go to mach 2.5 unless really needed. It was usually flown at mach 2.3.
Now, that's not nearly cruising mach 3 for even half an hour. And even when it hits mach 3, its engines blow out. Hahaha! Sorry, Russian engine tech. is garbage compared to the US.

The Mig-25 was brought to Japan in the 1970s by a defector in the USSR, and we took it apart. Guess what, we found nothing good, nor special... so we shipped it back to Russia, with love... in pieces. LOL!
Man, you kids are really dumb. The SR-71 was way more advanced than the Mig-25. Even the YF-12, which was the interceptor version of the SR-71, successfully flew at mach 3, just like the SR-71... only it carried AAM's, and successfully took out 3 targets with its AIM-47's.

The XB-70 was cancelled, because the US thought ICBM's would be a much cheaper and safer way to bomb the USSR, if it had to; and they thought correctly. The XB-70 was just too expensive, on top of the accident where the one fighter flew into the XB-70 and made it crash... that sent the deathblow to the prject. It was a total aeronautical engineering SUCCESS, though.

Well because I happen to have access to these reports and by the way, the Yak-141 was based on the F-15 and the Yakolev design team did in fact work alongside Lockheed during the development of the JSF, hence the resemblence to the Yak-141M, but Russia based their 1.44 on the XB-70 all by themselves, do you see my point?

no its wrong its going to replace the mig-25 and 31 in the near future the first order is about 25 aircraft in 2008

The MiG 1.44 is a technology demonstrator for the PAK FA and so is the SU 47 Berkut.
PAK FA will be built by MiG and Yakolev spearheaded by Sukhoi.

The 1.44 is just a technology demonstrator for the Sukhoi PAK FA. The Russian government cancelled it because it was too costly.

I have heard that the Mig I.44 only shown her aerodynamics, she didn't bring any operationnal equipment, and moreover flew just one time. Does anyone know what happened to this aircraft ? Did she go in a museum or has been scrapped ?

This plane is GREAT??? What makes it great? This thing is HIDIOUS and they are smart to have cancelled the project! All this plane is, is a modified XB-70 VALKYRIE, do some research!
