The New cast with Steed, Purdy & Gambit, were very good indeed. I wasn't born when the original Avengers was on tv but I've seen most of the episodes with Steed & Emma. How many seasons was Tara King in the series? She was nothing like Emma as a fighter. She was made to look weak & helpless in most of her episodes I watched. That's how I saw it which was a shame. She was beautiful but she should have been allowed 2 be more like Emma in imho. Lumley was tough as old boots in this new 1. Loved it!

Alright, that was admittedly good. It looked to me, though, that the two junior partners together were supposed to be a Peel or Gale, Gambit being the icy, ruthless side and Purdey bringing the playful sexiness. Much better than expected, thanks for the upload, and I'll watch more sometime.

The New Avengers incorporated 70's car chases and gun shots, also a liberal helping of cold war paranoia. It retained a modicum of the 60's Avengers' quaint surrealism, which rounds it off as unique in its time. The Professionals then did away with the genre's arty side to focus on suspense and Sweeney style tension.

The Pro's and Con's of the original and the new avengers. Con for the new, a similair storyline, pro it's in colour, pro for the new, Purdey shows more leg and cleavage, but Ms. Peel had a less british face than Purdey so an equal for that one, Pro for the original, Steed had more agility and humor, in the new he's more of a mentor. But the cars in the new episodes are awesome, love those Jags. Love the series, old and new(er). THX for the upload
