Well, I don't see any guys in this interview, so maybe it doesn't happen too often, but if I ever decide to go, I'm bringing a mother fucking weapon with me everywhere I travel in a foreign country.
Chromelug, no, the vast majority of rapes are white on white or black on black, there is no evidence at all to support your claim that blacks rape 38,000 whites a year.
Western movies and porn portray Western women as willing sluts, Third world men are watching this - western intertainment debauchery and getting the idea your daughter is a bitch in heat. at least that was my impression when I was a young men when I first saw porn - I was stunned, that there was such a filth shown in the open. It changed my view of women seeing them as sex objects.
@matrxmax , jews run the porn industry. If you look in their teachings in the Talmud, it says over and over again how gentiles should be killed if they aren't willing to be slaves and are no different than an animal.
This episode blasts PC so bad, how can people not see how biased this is? PC is not for everyone, but we have no better diplomats serving our country then those serving our country and those nations who have asked for our help. Not weapons or military but just a person who wants to make a difference in the world through education and shared experience.
@guido432ha the idea of peace corps is just awesome. I don't have any problem with that at all. Yes, the rest of the women did not say anything, but does that make it ok for one person to go through all that? No matter the mistakes these women and others make, the peace corps is responsible for their safety. If these people are ready to give up their freedom and rights like you stated, then the peace corps have to protect them and take these things seriously.
@skkyair I have so much I want to say. Yes it is horrible, but no PC can not guarantee peoples safety. They have done an amazing job for many years and yes there have been times when they have let people down. Can you not see that this episode is very biased though? As a Return Peace Corp Volunteer I can tell you we are all responsible for our own safety, where we go, how we act, and what we are willing to risk all effects our safety. PC cant walk around with you all day and night.
@guido432ha , that doesn't mean that Peacecorp shouldn't vigorously protect white women. Contrary to how the zionist media portrays whites in general as evil racists, the truth is just the opposite. In America, 38,000 white women are raped by black men every year. While white men, even though outnumbering blacks almost 4 to 1, do NOT rape black women hardly ever. The highest number in 20 years was 2005 & that was a total of 9 blacks raped. Even that was inaccurate b/c 3 were jews & 1 hispanic.
It is very sad and horrific things that these women went through. But my god could 20/20 be more slanted in this episode. notice that half the women on the panel do not speak because they did not all say horrible things. And if PC says 5 pm is late then be at home like they suggested. "The toughest job you will ever love." One hard part of being is PC (especially for women) is that you have to give up your american rights and freedoms that we take for granted.
I say if countries aren't willing to better themselves then FUCK EM.... Why should we help when they offer this worse than animal behavior in return...
They can rot in the 3rd world shithole of their own creation as far as I'm concerned...
And the peace corps and go fuck itself with its own idealism...
Well, I don't look at the PC with such admiration now because of what's been revealed to us: when it comes to protecting its victims of sexual assault/rape, that it's NO different from the military. They don't just keep it quiet; they keep it absolutely silent. That "official" should be ashamed as well. Her obvious lack of compassion is appalling, especially as a woman. At least the military brings our dead home in a coffin. The PC didn't offer anything but a cardboard box. What shame.
You know, I've watched this interview several times & keep coming to the same conclusion. Maybe I've been indoctrinated by PC, but the person most responsible for your safety is YOU. If I'm in a situation where I constantly felt threatened or at risk, I'm going to take it upon myself & remove myself from that situation. ...
well really in her defense. she was sexually assaulted on the first day and when she asked to be pulled out they did pull her out. the only reason she even joined peace core was to help others so was it bad of her to think about helping others. the worst part was that the day the peace corp went to poice she was raped to the extent that she needs help walking. its not like she only wanted to go that she probably found other routes only to find that the gang followed her.
and when the hell is 5 p.m. late in the night. its still broad day light at that time espcially in bangldesh. law enforcement is the worst in third world countries. cause no police officers gives a shit about their people it makes so many people mad that they cant feel secure or assured that law enforcement is there to protect them. its a sad fact that in some countries are gonna continue in that status cause law enforcement is the main reason behind it.
if law enforcement was good in these countries there is no way that 2020 would ever have to do such an investigation. if law enforcement was good than those thugs who raped her wouldnt exist on the outside cause they would be in jail. and that rapist who killed that girl woulda been in jail. it just feels as though its better to stay here in AC and TV and security than to go help those people cause of the huge risks they are in.
...I'm not saying the way Peace Corps handled everything was correct (in some instances it was downright horrifying & in others, pretty standard - there's only so much they can do)...
...but I am saying that certain situations can be avoided, though the blame lies solely on the perpetrators. It's just sickening to see everyone bashing The Peace Corps so heavily when 99% of what we do and are about is good. No evening reports on those things, though. Bad news sells better than good, though, so what can I expect?
absolutely awful. the Peace Corps ought to be completely ashamed and they need to devote, at the very minimum, a memorial to these women and other physical and sexual victims.
I've lost complete respect for the Peace Corps. I'd thought about volunteering after college, but I'm now discarding their existence from memory. Thank you ABC for investigating the Corps' lack of ethics and giving victims a platform to voice the truth. Also, thank you to to all the strong, courageous women who went public with their stories.
This video should be required viewing for any woman considering the Peace Corp. As a relative of a former volunteer I can tell you, what these women suffered is par for the course for PC. They will drop you in the middle of hell with nothing and no one for support, and if you come calling for help, there is no one home.
Hey when a person signs up for the military, he expected to be shot at. When you signed up for peace corps, you expect to be in danger. You are going to a third world country, what do you expect. If your an idealist and don't know what you are in for. Don't expect mommy do save you.
The peace corp does instruct them on how to be safe. Plus these woman should have not been walking alone. There is usually a buddy system in place.
Peace corps don't really do much, instead join a NGO.
@Starwins So you're doing what the Peace Corps did and are blaming the women? And you're proud of that asinine comment? They understood that serving in remote corners of the world was risky, what they didn't accept (nor should anyone) was the lack of support and total disrespect from the organization through which they served. The military doesn't set up their troops for failure, they have a structured system in place, and they're not afraid to drag anyone to a court of law.
It's sad to think that these types of things still happen and it's even sadder to think they are being covered up. My heart goes out to these women. I started filling out my application for Peace Corps last week, I don't think I will finish it. The least they can do is be supportive in such a tragic situation.
wow they just ship them off and no head quarters or something at the Host countries. atleast have an area to know that they would be safe there.
I feel so horrible for these women. The peace corp came to my college today. They made it sound great. But yes a woman I will never to this. I'd like to make a difference but this is just terrible. I'll just stick to American soil.... and learn karate or something.. sigh... it's 2011 and these 3rd countries are still like animals.
@SquishyCandyftw So ppl from developing nations are less human? Then why is it that today I read an article about three American teenage kids who set one of their friends on fire, over a $40 video game. I'd say that's animal behavior as well. Other teens in Florida killed a boy and hid his body in paint cans because they just "didn't like him." I divide my time between Miami and a "3rd world country" where I guarantee you, the accepted norm isn't animal behavior.
it's so sad that saving face and maintaining positive relationships with the Host Countries has become the priority. Volunteers have become a tool of the organization, and not its cornerstone. They need to start taking pcvs more seriously, and that seems to be a problem across the board. People who live in cities telling volunteers in villages that the volunteers do not know what they are talking about, it's ridiculous.
It is the animals of these other countries who are to blame, first and foremost. I don't care if you are poor, uneducated, don't rape women. If you do, there is something wrong with you and it would be better for the world if you died. Maybe the peace corps could find these men and execute them, or castrate them. That would help the women of these countries they are trying to help.
Well, I don't see any guys in this interview, so maybe it doesn't happen too often, but if I ever decide to go, I'm bringing a mother fucking weapon with me everywhere I travel in a foreign country.
