  • you commenters got it all wrong thinkin little feat is backin him up.yeah true but not like you think .they launched him. he's their potatoe

  • blue-eyed soul r.i.p. robert

  • This version makes "Little Feet"s rendition sound like a bad cover.

  • Happy Birthday Lowell George! Little Feat ~ where Mr palmer got the funk from for this one!

  • This man Robert MR. Palmer is one of the best singers I have EVER heard and I am a spoiled ole chick !I have loved him since he first popped out !

Lowell George and Little Feat produced & played on Sneakin Sally, I am just sure.

I miss RP and Lowell SO much.......

  • I would love to spend a day with you people. Would do my heart good.

  • 3 people have absolutely no taste...

    One of the greats.

  • Great stuff, from someone who never knew he played with the Little Feat people. Now, I sure can hear it!!! RIP Robert Palmer, gone too soon....

  • I have this CD. Should have started from "Hey Julia" through "Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley" as Dubmanic so rightly suggested.

  • just recognize!!!

  • R.I.P. Richie Hayward. You are gone, but not forgotten!

  • Two words: BAD A**

  • mos def roscoe!! Loved RP since he first went solo after Vinegar Joe. Funky stuff is his best, 80's stuff , not so much. Saw him at the Park West in Chicago around '77 and at ChicagoFest, which was the prescursor of Taste of Chicago, in '78. He did leave us way too soon. RIP Mr. P.!!!

  • Check the album credits and you'll notice Lowell George played on this version with

    Robert

  • cuz the funk is plaeyed by the Meters they were the backing band for this album

  • @etmeyutub ... but Lowell i splaying slide on this track.

  • @etmeyutub The meters make the sound great. Lowell George may have written the song but Robert Palmer's version is faster and better in my opinion than Little Feats' version. I saw RP twice in Baltimore and at Towson State. Little feat members were his backup in Towson. COOL COOL MAN he was.

  • @bil56 Agree with that . more funky and upbeat than LF version. Check out Meters - Funkify your life .

  • FUNKIN AWSOME

  • I don't care if you have to dance with the broom get up and dance

  • This song is one of a trio that is actually one song to affectionados. Sailing Shoes>Hey Julia>Sneakin' Sally Through The Alley. Classic stuff....

  • Hey Julia is a lot of fun

and it IS a great medley

  • love Robert Palmer in the 70's.... Some of his best stuff!

  • meters. lowell. palmer. funk. nice

  • You just gotta love this funk! And who would have known from the latter stuff. Most cool!

  • rip robert and lowell

  • I found this on lp at a thrifty shopper in Syracuse Ny for .50 cents, unreal. I grew up in the early 80s listening to Robert, Paul Simon, Steve Winwood, I wish music was good like this now. Im 38, and find myself going back to the "OLDIES". He died to soon, cant imagine what he would be doing now.

  • @msweetman1122 gREETINGS FROM UTICA !Lowell GEORGE WROTE THIS COCAINE GOT HIM YOUNG.

GO TO A LITTLE FEAT SHOW AND FEEL THE SAME STUFF THAT BUILT THIS SONG.

  • This album is a MUST HAVE for ANY music fan!! Palmer at his best! With Little Feat as a back up band?! How can you go wrong!

  • @KBFluff

I thought this was the Meters as the band.

  • The song is by Lowell George of Little Feat, but I think Robert´s backing band at the time was The Meters...

  • AMEN!

  • I think you mean The Meters as back up band. Only Lowell George played on a few tracks and The Meters were on all of side A. Side B was session musicians.

  • what a album cover>>>full of excitement and mystery i know the story behind it wow!!

  • You are the greatest Robert Palmer! I have loved you since I bought my first album...way back when...at least 26 years ago and I still love you...Great songs, great music, great look, great backup, great bands, just great!

  • the first three tracks on this album were some of the best things ever laid to magnetic tape. I have worn out several copies of it.

  • everything prior to his commerical success was GOLD! i saw him, first row center, at my local college in 1977 at age 15, my second concert ever... was AMAZING. crime he died so young.

  • I miss him Very much

  • so do i

  • I was very much in love with Robert. We had such a short time together

  • a juicy, lively, funky sweet delicious tunage sammich.

  • One of Yorkshire's finest

  • hey hey robert you was acting quite a funny and we sure would like to know what went on between your head!! bit it worked ive worn the vinyl out twice on sneaking sally through the alley much missed!!!!

  • Agreed.

  • Some of the best music of it's kind.

  • YES--it was and "IS"!

  • Damn... the funk is so thick on this one you could cut it with a butter knife! Any chance of you posting the complete song, starting with this one, then "Hey Julia" and finishing with "Sneakin' Sally through the alley"? This is great, but that would be even better!

  • @Dubmaniac yo FROM THE BIG U...YOU TEEKA..UTICA ..GLAD YOU FOUND THAT DISK, BABY. nOW...GET THYSELF TO A LITTLE FEAT CONCERT AND LISTEN TO THE BAND THAT DID IT FIRST...IT WAS WRITTEN BY A BAND MEMBER WHO DIED VERY YOUNG TOO.
