Shoot fighting comes from Catch as catch can with a slight focus on striking have some of the holds been changed to make less lethal for competition?....love your hooking videos, help me a lot against experience bjj practitioners...I bought them years ago
@Remanabera the only times i catch it is when it's tight against my thighs & solar-plexus.. and i start by having my applying arm pronated (palm down). Then when I squeeze everything 'into' my center (id est, gluts/pecs/delts/abs) all contracting - ... I simultaneously supinate my forearm (palm up) so that I roll the upper 1/4th of my fibula into the interosseuss tissue between his brachialis & flexor-carpi muscles of his anterior forearm. It works best combined with jujigatame attempts.
@KeyboardPacifist ... also, you have to "contain" his forearm by using your other hand to grip the distal end of the ulna, keeping his thumb downward and you will use this downward pressure in order to leverage the submission tighter. If you have weak pressure with the far hand... he will flop his forearm over or bridge hard in order to escape. Remember... if he manages to escape his arm upwards - you should immediately lock in the juji-gatame!
yeah, some of these are almost exact moves taught to me in shootfighting, but some of your moves like the step over toe hold, I never really took serious, becuas I noticed that most guys I couldnt catch with those moves, maybe because I am a super heavy 300 lbs then, now 260.
It's not that; one of our guys is about 300, a power lifter, and he can catch toe holds on takedowns and throws.
It's all about a good entry, one that isn't easy to escape from. And the step over generally happens when you're going for, say, a heel hook, and the guy rolls belly down. If you know that's what he's going to do, stopping his movement with the stepover is easy.
@cecchinecatch Hey buddy, you ever thought about coming over here to the UK and opening some Catch Wrestling schools (Preferably the south-eastern area) We could do with some!
The pain caused by this moved is done by two different aspects. First look at Tony's RIGHT arm. He's pushing down the opponent's arm. Second, look at Tony's LEFT arm. That's the one that hurts because of the force he's applyng. There are two forces going on here. I've done this technique not knowing it per sé. caem naturally one day because my opponent wanted to break the grip I was doing.
almost identical to a rear naked. except instead of pulling with your hook arm, you "roll" it. Squeeze your hook arm towards your chest and roll it (your thumb should be pointing up). At the same time push down with your other arm. Note make sure that the arm is really tight on your chest and that you roll your hooking arm! (these are the most common mistakes during application.) hope this helps
Hey Tony, I used this move when I was rolling and it worked great. The guy didnt' see it coming. he thought I was going for a regular armbar but I let him pull his arm away with his other arm to aid in the armlock even more and then used my leg to push down the lock even more. I can't wait till someone uses catch wrestling in the UFC. it will fuck everyone up because of the overuse of jits

Looks like a bicep slicer. Painful move no matter what the name.
