  • anyone else auditoning for the National Youth Theatre ? Like if you are.

  • @CorLuigi96 i am tooo :D i asked my dram teacher at school for some monologue ideas but none of them were really helpful so i might just do this..

  • Very impressive monologue. Had me lost in the story, brought out the characters and scenerio beautifully and all within 2 minutes. I find it funny how some of these comments foolishly think they know what the craft of acting entails'being natural' i.e adding a few um's and ah's in front every word is not what good acting is.

  • I did a monologue of the Cinderella story starring Hilary Duff. Please check it out on my channel and leave comments as well as ratings :D. Thank you so much.

  • terrible

  • I have to say its harder to perform a monologue without sounding unnatural then it actually is on a proper stage or scene because you've got the envireonment to make it feel more real

  • I had a go at the woolgather monologue after watching your version! Could you have a look, its on my channel!

  • for stage, this is perfect

  • good job i have to go a monuluge for my drama class i'm in 6th grade good example!

  • It was not overacted for stage. For a film maybe and maybe not. Good info. Thanks ! :))

  • Yeah, she acted too much

  • can you write your own monologue for auditions?

  • @elitestar yes u can...but try and keep it between 1:30 to a min unless they request longer

  • good thx i hav 2 make 1 for school any ideas?

this helped alot i didnt even know what a mono whatever is

    thx!!!

  • That was pretty good, I just may use this monologue for my audition, thank you

  • Wow that awesome

  • With a tears in my eye "I care about the birds.." so i hope you used it's feathers for a hat :)

  • one of my friends did this for her audition

  • Nice! Is this sample a film or theater audition?

  • Lulz at the 2 top comments.

  • Wow, you just have a way of reeling your audience in with your eyes ... spectacular!

  • omg this is a subject I'd normally push off but u made me cry

  • OMG, Dude Your Like the best actor ever i like started crying

  • i cant got to work until i see whatever movie she just did! AMAZING!

  • wow this made me cry because of the story

  • She's good

  • I hate her so much!!!!!!!!

    BUT HER SKILLZZZ ARE UNMATCHED!

  • Stop it.

  • good job. i put up a short monologue Its my first one tell me what you think ok

  • i almost cried...i hate the idea of ever hurting any animal!

  • @MyDSgamer its from the woolgatherer :)

  • One big huge problem here. When you act, you have to try not to blink so much. Casting agencies HATE it when you blink over and over...its distracting, and it takes away from your performance.

  • thats was amazing whats the name of this play?

  • @superfreddythecat Your kinda sending mixed signals, did you like it or not, cause your confusing me, i personally liked it, it will definatly help me for my movie auditions saturday

  • I want to act EXACTLY like you. You're absolutely amazing.

  • search "lovesongjunkyard" try part II

  • omg, this is so good! :)

  • that was........ omg!!! it actually made me sad and then angry! and then sad again!!! this woman is a GENIUSSS!!!!

  • not very natural, too much acting

  • @ruzickaw it is drama, you sort of have to exaggerate it a little bit.

  • @ruzickaw

It's unfair to judge people's acting ability from a video. Stage acting is never the same unless you are in the same room with the person.

  • @ruzickaw I find these sort of comments hilarious. Do you think good acting is adding a few um's and ah's before every word? Naturalism isn't what good acting is, anybody can be themselves in front of a camera and be naturalistic. What a good actor has to be is convincing and captivating in their storytelling. Being 'natural' doesnt require skill and isnt entertaining. So dont act as though you know ANYTHING about good acting. I am an trained actor and this monologue was excellent.

  • @Teezer44 If you find this monologue excellent you must on the same lavel as an actor as she is. Improve!

  • @ruzickaw In a position where people like you are sat behind a little screen commenting and watching my videos again and again...hmm, that isn't such a bad level is it, relatively speaking. lol

  • all i can think is how 'rehearsed' it is ... at the expense of spontaneity. she needs to take the next step which is to make seem immediate and all hers and only hers.

  • @histrionical ugh another Meisner disciple...

  • I thougt I was watching a movie! Excellent...

  • Great monologue! I thought the writing was a little unnatural sounding in the beginning, not the actresses fault!

  • hey could you please lemme know what you think of my monologues:

    youtube.com/watch?v=_kUmj4y5UvQ

  • She is very good..the reason she did not make it..is probably because nowadays Hollywood needs only trashy young blondes or bimbos...

  • STOP IT.. STOP IT.

  • Very good acting. Was browsing around for inspiration.I am preparing a long monologue that I will record on video. Is a long and very dramatic one.

I know the usual 2-3 mins one's but........can it go on for an hour or two and still be classified as a monologue? What's the longest monologue to record so far?

I would appreciate any tips and answer. Thanks :)

  • I am 15 and i have a role play assessment coming up in English, i have chose to do a monologue but don't know if i should do shakespeare, a movie or write my own, any suggestions?

  • you remind me SO much of Lily from gossip girl, like her mum maybe?? lol

  • @superfreddythecat ... you must think miley cyrus can act if you really thought someone this good was terrible. you couldn't pull this off half as well as she did, so back off all-knowing-actor. GAHHHH

  • Arent you the accent lady?

  • This ugly witch touts herself as helpful. But, ask her a question and see how her catty and jealous side will come out.

  • You're awesome!

  • wow i loved this!! i expected something bad or half assed but this was great!!!

  • dont give advice about monologues if you yourself suck at them. bitch

  • @superfreddythecat Oh whatever, don't be jealous of her just because she's so amazing and you probably can't act yourself.

  • @FoxFire365 i cant act, i admit it. but you dont have to be great at something to tell other people that they suck at it =/

  • @superfreddythecat

If you don't know the basics of an activity, then I hate to break it to you, but you have no right to criticize others.

  • @superfreddythecat im just being mean on purpose. im sorry, it was actually really good. =P.

  • Wow! That was awesome. : )

  • Ur a rly good actress and this rly helped thx

  • Wow..serious bird lover..

  • Oh my god. This monologue is so freaking sad.

  • Thank you, this video has helped me so much.

It boost my confidence you are a amazing actress.

  • wow that fucking sucked

  • oh yeah! i love this video. she's awesome. i idolize her a lot :D thanks 'coz i know now how to do our practicum. good luck to me then :)

  • Love tjis lady..aND HER BIRDS!!!!

  • YOU WERE BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Except I think some of the lines were wrong. I am going to audtion for my school to go to drama classes , so I got the script of the Woolgatherer and some of the lines are different compared to yours. Though nothing changed u are AMAZING~

  • Great advice.

  • Nice!

  • I love the passion that u have n this monologue is a perfect example.

I have a audition on saturday n Yet to find a monologue so do u have any for me that's similar to the example u gave ??????

  • Omg, lady, you are a great actress, why are you not famous?

  • I remember 4 years ago in my acting class my friend did this and ever since then it's been stuck in my head. It's probably my all-time favorite monologue. I have NO IDEA what the play is about, but just this monologue. It's haunting. It's awesome.

  • What is this monologue called? I want to try using that one

  • you are very good because i am auditioning for man M.A.C and i need movie lines for theater. ( Acting ).

  • Okay, I really almost cried. You're amazing, oh my God.

I'm auditioning and applying to a specialty program for the fine and performing arts at a high school in February, I hope I'll get in. But you were very, very good, in my opinion. I really did want to cry.

  • Truth is, I was one of the boys who were there last night throwing rocks....Just kidding. Great Job!

  • shes much better than the other expert village monologue guy

  • ds is FUNNY i ROFLED

  • that was really good!

  • Watch my first monologue video! Please? :(

  • Don't listen to this woman. This sucks.

  • WOW!

  • simply amazing! i could honestly listen to you all day!!

  • Thanks! I used this monologue I think 3-4 times and landed every role because they like how I was a guy and could pull this part off with my emotion. I've landed some roles on Disney, Nickelodeon, and now a local theater play thanks to all of your help! I'm only 19 but I can tell this is just the start of a very bright future for me and I have your videos to thank!

  • this isn't really all that effective...the acting is forced and indicated at times and there's no connection at all between you and who you are supposed to be talking to...its an actor in performance mode...not a real human being

  • wow, that was amazing, this example is totally gonna help with the monologue i have to write for english.

  • good stuff :)

  • Honestly the end freaked me out and i can't believe the zoo keeper slapped you

  • Great video. Going to be watching all the EV acting videos now! I've just started doing weekly monologue videos to expand range, have wider selection of ones to use (etc etc...) so I'd say I'll get a bunch of tips from this. This monologue is probably a bit effeminate for me which is a shame because it was really powerful. I'll have to give the play a read through!

  • I got an audition for james and the giant peach for the school play I am auditioning as aunt spiker and this was very use full thank you millions!!

  • Your emotions change so much that it makes you seem less genuine as a character. Just trying to help.It just doesn't seem like a real person.

  • am i allouwed to use someone elses monologue? like an author's monologue without permission? or can i just say who wrote so they get credit. answer ASAP

  • @ge2298

I'm not sure honestly, but everyone does. You're not going to get in trouble for doing it because you aren't making any money off of performing it.

  • :02

  • this was great!

  • That was really good. It was really emotional and you really got into your character. I could feel that you meant every word of it. How much background work did you do on the character?

  • killed it on point love it!

  • That was AMAZING!!!

  • Thanks man. What did u do for ur resume?

  • great work. you may also share your monoloquesand auditions at "acting town". it's pretty cool.

  • that interactive transcript is soooo cool!!!!

  • After all my teacheras taught me abut monologues i only now, understand by watching this video!!!

  • did u get it brandon?

  • Very sound advice. An audition is about you acting, not you describing your piece. Thanks for the tip!

  • What is the title and by who again? Sorry, i cant really catch what you said. TQ!

  • @brianong123 It is from the play "The Woolgatherer" by William Mastrosimone. It is a wonderful monologue but is sometimes over done at auditions. But it is a fantastic acting piece and gives an actor wonderful challenges to rise to. Need any more monologues, let us know! and @Expertvillage has great advice too, listen to her as well!

  • Who gives a damn about some stupid birds?!

  • I LOVEE this monologue!! And you did incredible!

  • I'm doing a monologue for an assesment at my college i recorded myself and there is alot of emotion in it

  • that was beast!!!!!!

  • NO, NO, NO!

    you did it all wrong!

you messed up on the monologue so much!

    please reread and practice more.

  • @loltaya Everyone has their own interpretation of the work. It's up to the actor to bring it to life as they see it.

  • amazing,

  • i've got an audition this saturday for disney channel, but we don't have to do a monologue. they are giving a script so i really hope i get in this. this is my life long dream and my career goal.

  • @brandonman24 i hope u did great!

  • @Madisita i did! they actually have called me back for a second audition today! the guy said i was his #1 pick!

  • @brandonman24 haha how cool is that?! i wish i lived in the US so i could audition, unfortunetely i'm from Venezuela, so.... yeah haha

  • @brandonman24 good luck ! i hope everything works out for you !!

  • @brandonman24 How did you get started acting? Did you go to a specific school or something? I want to start acting, and everyone tells me that I was born to do it, but I don't know where to go to start. Can you help me? Thanks

  • @Nonetho7 actually, i've been told i was born to act, too. we all have a natural born talent. i never have taken a acting class, however. im just really good at it, naturally. i actually won that audition but i couldn't move to Los Angeles. what YOU need to do, is go to google and search "acting auditions in (then type where you live)" that way you have a list of what is being auditioned. i'm very lucky, because i live near a hotspot and that is Orlando, Florida. good luck!

  • @brandonman24 omg congrats i wish u lots and lot of luck!! How exciting!!

  • @brandonman24 how do you get the audition? I thought they only had auditions in the summer.

  • @brandonman24

    good luck ya dweeb...

    seriously tho good luck

  • @brandonman24 really where did u get it

  • @brandonman24 were do you audition for disney channel ?

  • @brandonman24 how do you know where the auditions are?

  • @brandonman24 r u in Dallas?

  • @brandonman24

    HOPE YOU GET IT !

  • @brandonman24 How did it go brotha?

  • that was rlly good

  • awesome.. i had goosebumps sometimes..but at some parts it was a lil bit to cheesy in my opinion

  • Awesome.

  • Is this monologue copyrighted?

I'm trying to find a monologue to use in motion graphics assignment... Is it OK to use the audio only?

    Cheers

  • Exactly yeah I got one comming up for Disney channel

  • @originalpalmer How'd it go?

  • that was amazing....i actually watch it because i have an audition coming up...

  • @myrlandecharelus what are you auditioning for??

  • @xLSmile123 some professional class i needed to take from the University that I go.

  • Beautifully done! Thank you for this video!

  • What do you think of this monologue?

    youtube.com/watch?v=udD_KZWIC9s&feature=player_embedded

  • PLEASE RATE MY IMPROV MONOLOGUE!!

  • Monologue by Hell Mel

  • Comment removed

  • wow thats was amazing !!

  • @Tammylita so your criticism isn't condescending or twat-like? Okay. And I'm pretty sure someone who's as experienced as she is should know that a story monologue is a no-no.

  • Ehh... There's no separation of character between the slate and the monologue... It's such a beautiful piece but there is not nearly enough vocal and emotional interaction. You look bored the entire time. Plus if you're planning on giving an example monologue to help somebody in the pursuit of professional theatre, don't use a story monologue! There is no passion within stories and there's no connection to another ch
