Wow.. that's a lovely big runner bean plant! We tried growing them last year and we did get a few beans from it, but I suppose we didn't water them enough, so the plants weren't very robust as yours! I think we'll try again next year. Thanks for posting this video... gives inspiration for me to try again! :)
Hi Kevin, am not really an expert but a friend told me to line the bottom of the pots in autumn with kitchen waste e.g. cabbage leaves, potato peel etc. and give them time to rot. As the beans need a lot of nutrition when they bear fruit, this will sustain them all through the season. And 100% organic too.
Any tips on growing runner beans because these ones are massive even th plant lol mine are scrawny little things that grew up the bamboo cane which was tiny and grew back down and up over the plan several times
Hi, thanks very much for the advice, not being green fingered, we only grow these in pots for a bit of fun, but really enjoyed harvesting the fruits of our labour! Cheers
hey can i just give you a quick tip?. pick them when they arent realy big and tough otherwise they are hard and stringy when you eat them and are hard to slice.
Looks lovely ~ really enjoying all the green growth and orange flowers =D
