  • Thank you for uploading this. I have fond memories of seeing this car run in September 1969 at the first event held at Rockingham Dragway in N.C. Where is Danny Ongais now?

  • a ford 427 and mickey thompson as your mech what a winning combo

  • This is some truly bitchin' racing!

  • This is some true bitchin' racing!

  • Great video! Drag racing was worth watching back then. Alot of the cars could be built in a backyard garage; there was so much innovation. It is imposssible to do that today.

  • Awesome to see drag racing history like this.

  • back in those days mickey thompson was a legend.

  • The Flying Hawaiian!!! Thanks for posting this!!!

  • Danny on the gas! I had a one page poster of this car from Hot Rod magazine. And I saw it at Motor City Dragway!

  • I spent a lot of weekends at both Motor City Dragway and Detroit Dragway. Did you see Roger Lindamoods Color me Gone Charger in this video? He ran both tracks a lot with Connie Kalitta, Paul Stefansky, Terry Hedrick, and the Ramchargers Car. Good Memories!

  • I'll have to look closer. I remember the Mickey Thompson Mustang broke the 200 mph barrier.

  • Yes it did. Many times over.
