You need to change the title to 'Biggest Production Tractor Of The World'. The biggest tractors ever made were the Versatile Big Roy and the Big Bud 16V 747 but, in each case, only one example exists. However, the Challenger MT975B is the biggest tractor IN PRODUCTION today, so you must make that clear in your title or caption.
all manufacturer say their tractor are the strongest manufactured tractor your choice hwo to belive never heard a case seller say "john deer or new holland or challenger or whatever make" are better then their they are there to sell tractor
Someone told me one day "A good sellmen is a good liar!"
Biggest tractor in the world? Rather a misrepresentation on the stament to head this video. May want to check facts on the horsepower and just how big the world might be. Broad or narrow, the analysis here is rudimentary.
Thats a lot of HP! I run a Case IH STX 500 with the triples but it still spins out before it powers out. That's 500 HP so I'm not sure it 615 would help.
Why do people always talk about HP when it comes to tractors or large trucks? It's the torque that pulls those large implements. My friend's sports car has more HP than my truck, but it sure won't tow what my truck does.
Even the biggest tractors of the world seem inadequate for the biggest farms and ranches of today and in the future. Far bigger tractors and matching implements need to be built as farms and ranches get bigger and bigger. Tractors about the size and power of LeTourneau's L-2350 loader will be needed to handle the demands of today's and tomorrow's biggest farms and ranches which are as big as 100,000+ acres (and getting bigger year by year!)
@glenn3rd2004 tractors are limited by how much weight the land can handle, if you ant to grow anything in the soil after tilling there is not much point going in with a 60ton tractor, imagine the compaction of the soil.
@niallguitar what do you mean i would love to have a tractor to operate like that on the farm where i work with a set of 12 row kmc rip and strip and 12 row stack fold kinze planters on 30 in rows. man talk bout getting the job done. i need two of the one for planting and one for the 50 ft disc
the case quad trac would out pull that any day of the year in any condition.they are also unbelievable on fuel...a 375 hp quad trac out pulled a 450 hp triple tired newholland with ease...the challenger tractors are the old newholland design they were using before they merged with case and use the tractor they are today...
i owned 3 quads they really are amazing...no other tractor like that.i could pull through anything.never ever got them stuck...the rubber tired one where always beinf pulled out...i was pulling two 65 foot zero till flexi-coil air seeders with 10 inch spacing and a 2500 gallon nitrous tanks and a 360 bushell product tanks..pulled it like nothing was there and the fuel consumption was lower then any tractor i ever used. i would recomend it.the cat is no good.one track stops when turning ...
"the challenger tractors are the old newholland design they were using before they merged with case" Where did you get that from???? NewHolland was useing Versatile 4X4 tractors with blue paint before the merger..... Quads are good on fuel huh???? ever get it under 22GPH???? I reckon not. haha.

I dont care how big it is. If it isnt made in America its junk in my book. The Big Bud 747 is bigger and still in operation after 30 years. Lets see what this plastic computerized foreign junk looks like in 30 years.
Thats funny...isn't Fendt owned by what used to be AGCO...I think it is...and its now owned by a Canadian Company...Massey Ferguson...which also acquired a few american companies...Oliver, White, Allis-Chalmers, all american...so Fendt is a world tractor...But John Deere is the only company to never change hands...and thats why its the best ever...
@hwoods01 I'm just curious. Since you said that AGCO makes both Fendt and Challenger tractors, do you believe the Challenger MT975B can go 40 MPH (65 km/hour) like the Fendt 936 Vario Black Beauty can? I thought Caterpillar made the Challenger tractors (but I could be wrong). Also, how much does the Challenger MT975B and Fendt 936 Vario Black Beauty each cost in the United States? I'm considering a Fendt 936 Vario Black Beauty due to its advanced features and 40 MPH maximum speed.
hwoods01 is correct. CAT got out of AG equiptment back in 02 and sold everything to Agco. Even the rights to sell them on the same CAT dealerships as previous. Agco needed a large articulated 4X4 tractor since the AgcoStar line was dropped, thus the 900 series was developed. Massey, Gleaner, Hesston, Fendt, Spray Coupe, are also Agco brands.
@thebobandtomshowfan I believe ALL American and Foreign tractors in production today (including the Big Bud 747) are MUCH TOO SMALL to handle the demands of today's and tomorrow's biggest farms and ranches. We need to build FAR, FAR BIGGER farm tractors and implements to better handle the increasing demands of today's and tomorrow's biggest farms and ranches.
i was hoping he would've drove it through that muddy field behind the other equipment. nice machine, but not the biggest ever made, but probably is the largest in production today.
@rocintrucker83021227 you spend a LOT of money, getting oil field service trucks with huge cable winches to pull it out. Another tractor, even another Challenger MT975B, would have problems getting enough traction to pull it out once all four sets of duals dig into muddy soil enough to get stuck.
@Lasselkv28 Big Bud was only made to break the world record...these guys try to make the smaller machine with as much horsepower as they can shove in them. 615 hp in that big of a tractor is just amazing
This is the biggest one currently in production but the Big Bud 747 is the largest tractor overall (there is only one made as far as I know). However, even these tractors appear inadequate for the world's largest farms which can exceed 60,000 acres. Ag tractors built based on the LeTourneau L-2350 (with 2300 HP engines) and their matching implements would much better handle the demands of those 60,000+acre farms by reducing the man-hours, machinery, and fuel needed to handle the biggest jobs.
Challenger, John Deere, Massey-Ferguson, Fendt, Big Bud, and others all make good, powerful 4wd tractors but none of them are really big or powerful enough to handle the chores demanded of the very largest farms in the world (up to 60,000+acres). That's why I suggested that even larger, more powerful tractors based on the Caterpillar 994 and the LeTourneau L2350 machines (w/2300+HP) be built with matching implements to handle the demands of the largest farms (to 60,000+ acres) around the world
18 liter engines!!, Bud was doing that and then some 30 years ago. This is a nice tractor, & probably the most efficient Ag tractor currently made, but don't immerse yourself in the "its the newest, must be the greatest", hype, that is the norm in the tech sector, but that don't fly where application requires physical work to be done. Sorry......but thats the way it is.
Stop with the "Sound Byte" education. Is that why 99.9% of all Big Buds are still working in the field. It can't be strictly a nostalgia thing, because that would break the pocket book after a while. The Cat's Cab and ergonomis/controls are much nicer, but tractor for tractor the Buds can hang with the Big Cats. It's still a weight and traction thing. Buds have the weight, stronger mainframes, axles, you know the stuff that counts & allows these dinosaurs to be somewhat utilized.
The 16V 747 Bud is more efficient if you put the correct equipment behind it. That 16V92 Detroit is capable of 760-1100hp depending on injection size. This Cat's real advantage is the 18.1L engine. It's capable of being weighted up to 60Klbs, as needed, but dry weighted about 39K which is about par or little more than the Deere & Case/Steiger counterparts. The Series 3 Buds were dry weighted at 40-45Klbs. The 650/50 was at 60K dry. The Buds are strong enough to be a true rebuildable unit.
sorry but big bud has nothing on this tractor dude i mean come on that tractor is long gone and dead this one is new and has more stuff oh yeah you over post to much on this
The essence of efficiency is there with the Buds, because they built the weight to them. Especially at the extreme level I mentioned, now if they aren't doing the work, then no I would assume they wouldn't be as efficient, but with these tractors if they have the Twin Disc Pwr. Shifts, you can throttle back and shift up and use less fuel and be on par with todays more sophisticated machines. You are correct about their cabs, being antiquated, but they are roomy, just not ergonomic and modern.
You can go faster or have wider span equipment, that is the key to efficiency in the field and if the equipment is keeping up and planting correctly, why would 10mph be any worse. The Buds are dry weighted heavier with stronger mainframes than any current traction made today. Plus nothing matches a 650/50 Big Bud's frame and potential today. That is why he used and modified it to 950hp from a Cummins QSK23. He is also pulling 6400 gal. of liq. fertilizer and a 850 bu cart. Lots of weight.
Not wanting to burst BOTH Yur guy's bubbles. But the big bud is a 900HP Tractor, Biggest tractor ever built, strongest tractor ever built, and yu aint gunna get more power, more speed, or anything more out of a challenger. The 2 Tractors just don't compare. sorry!
your all saying the big bud is bigger yes it may have more power but which is more efficient, the cat also has the record for most seeded in 24 hours not the big bud, also ever sit in a big bud it's like a tank small windows can't see much out of it no comfort. the cat is comforable can see out of it and it can pull way better than the 9630 just the 865c never mind the 875c
Yes, this is the most powerful tractor currently in production. However, I believe the very largest farms (>5000acres) need tractors that are built based on the LeTourneau L-2350 loader used in mining operations and matching implements to reduce man-hours, machinery, and fuel required to complete the biggest jobs these farms demand. Bigger machines means less machines needed and less fuel consumed (and less global warming). Challenger, John Deere, and others, are you listening?
@glenn3rd2004 I have read at least 100 comments posted by you on various websites concerning farm tractors, construction/mining equipment, cruise/cargo ships, supertankers, tuba players, pipe organs, Serena Williams, and angry cats. I found all your comments pointless and baseless. Please refrain from posting comments on websites unless you do your research first.
we got a deere 9630 we got turned up to 705 horses...615 aint shit..and them 800/70/38 tires aint shit either our 710/70/42 might be a lil bit narrower but much higher
a few months ago i pulled an engine on a 9630 with the main cap bolts stipped outta the block we sent it back on reman the factory rebuilt it and it was tuned to 750 HP from factory
The bud is a one of a kind (I think) and as such it doesn't count as a production unit. Yes it is used in production, but not in the same sense as this.
Still got my 1966 John Deere 4020, rolled a wheel off the bearing today, Almost 50 years, and I've replaced a wheel bearing. I'll stick with the Deere's Also I just got an 8760 that's 20 years old, and she pulls like a bitch, love it.

The Buds are strong enough to be a true rebuildable unit.

sorry but big bud has nothing on this tractor dude i mean come on that tractor is long gone and dead this one is new and has more stuff oh yeah you over post to much on this
ashleebabe 2 years ago
The essence of efficiency is there with the Buds, because they built the weight to them. Especially at the extreme level I mentioned, now if they aren't doing the work, then no I would assume they wouldn't be as efficient, but with these tractors if they have the Twin Disc Pwr. Shifts, you can throttle back and shift up and use less fuel and be on par with todays more sophisticated machines. You are correct about their cabs, being antiquated, but they are roomy, just not ergonomic and modern.
badvalveseals 2 years ago

The 2 Tractors just don't compare. sorry!
playboypeas 2 years ago
your all saying the big bud is bigger yes it may have more power but which is more efficient, the cat also has the record for most seeded in 24 hours not the big bud, also ever sit in a big bud it's like a tank small windows can't see much out of it no comfort. the cat is comforable can see out of it and it can pull way better than the 9630 just the 865c never mind the 875c
ws6bird 2 years ago
i think ur right the big bud may have 85 hp more but the challenger is more efficient en more comfi i think
Hylkemans 2 years ago
its awesome that your a die hard John Deere fan but the big bud had 2 detroit diesel V8s, making 747hp.
THEuncleshank 2 years ago
Actually, the 747 owned by the Williams Bros. in Montana, pushes 900h.p.
MrCrazyman1313 2 years ago
close enough

Please refrain from posting comments on websites unless you do your research first.

okeedokee16 2 years ago 2
The bud is a one of a kind (I think) and as such it doesn't count as a production unit. Yes it is used in production, but not in the same sense as this.
snedie69er 2 years ago 2
It is one of a kind, and this could be the largest production tractor. I was replying to chickengeorg123.
okeedokee16 2 years ago
yes snedie69er big bud is a one of a kind they only made a small hand full of them but big bud is the only one that is still in working production

deere might cost a little more, but its worth it. they are very nice riding tractors and they last more than 20 years unlike some.
hondaredrider85 2 years ago
Still got my 1966 John Deere 4020, rolled a wheel off the bearing today, Almost 50 years, and I've replaced a wheel bearing. I'll stick with the Deere's Also I just got an 8760 that's 20 years old, and she pulls like a bitch, love it.

why pay so much when you only need a tractor to do a job. you dnt need big machines.
jakeywakey912 2 years ago
Depends on the size of your land, what the soil is like. Bigger farmers need bigger equipment in order to get the work done.
