  • you better have gotten an A on this XD

  • This was an amazing presentation, i find myself very informed on a culture i was already a part of, you introduced me to new things that i can enjoy inside the community and given me a sense of renewed vigor, i feel motivation and determination to not only enjoy my brony community even more, but to spread word about it to others over the internet.

Thank you sir fore this wonderful display, hat tips to you.

  • Sorry I can't add a question mark, my touch screen is damaged.

  • Where can I find a copy of the mix you used in the credits

  • good job all parts r so cool =3

  • brilliant job man

    i loved this

  • this was very entertaining :D great job man but waht was the name of that mashup at the end?

  • Pure brony pony poetry

  • i'm in the army and i'm a brony! haters gonna hate

  • OMG your videos just made my girlfriend a freaking brony!

    FUCK YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

  • 6:39 you quot that just ass good as i can spell (you get the message but not with the right words)

    lol

  • This guy needs a medal. What? There are no medals for outstanding achievements on the Internet? Well, somepony needs to make one. . . preferably one with access to a lathe and raw materials. . . Great ballad good sir!

  • You changed my life saberspark :'D

  • I did nothing "Special" to comunity... I'm useless...

  • @OfficialDsi0 are you blind? Check description of the video again

  • @Diamont111 No love? :P

  • What's the ending song???? I NEED TO KNOW!!!!

  • @OfficialDsi0 I SENCOND THIS!

  • @OfficialDsi0 I just found out xD /watch?index=1&annotation_id=annotation_996868&feature=iv&src_vid=bfo8Pywji_M&list=PLD68F5543C0A9CA8D&v=urnUYQt-9bc should do it

  • BRONY ON BROTHERS!

  • NOW THIS IS WHY I'M PROUD TO BE A BRONY

  • 1:46 Thats me!

  • @ntsevenfour Did you draw that? Or is it just one of your OCs?

  • @Saberspark lol not the picture =P

  • Well, maybe that will help you some day...

In criminal psychologie there is a phenomen called "Infantilism". In fact, computer gaming vanished any age for it. Everybody play computer games... And fall down into childhood. And there... Tadaaaam! They fit into MLP's target audience!!!! And why boys? Firstly, because MLP is similar to anime. Secondly, because feminism is in the yard.

That is my IMHO, but... I guess it is objective.

  • I officially became an open brony today

  • @acedce1 I may have to face up to myself, embrace friendship, tolerance and derpy (especially derpy) stand in the face of Fox news, haters and skeptics alike and say it loud, I'm a brony and proud!

  • @f10b9 It's fullest or "fit in"? That is what defines who we are

  • I agree completely with ecerything since part 1. People judge us because we like "a little girls show". Well does a "little girls show" help you through life, make you a better person, and change your life for the greater good? No? So since mlp does all that, it is not a "little girls show". Mlp is just a cartoon. But what you choose to make of that cartoon defines you, as a person and as a brony. So the question is: what do you choose? Do you choose to understand life, be able to live it to it

  • Fox news criticize everything. Are you even suprised they would criticize Bronies?

  • My Little Pony Friendship is Magic has a reference to The Big Lebowski.

A so called "girls show" has a reference to an R rated movie. Those moron brony-haters don't know what they're missing.

  • how can us bronies ever thank you?!?!

  • as someone said to me ''you must be gay, if you watch mlp and are a guy''. What was my reply you say? ''me watching mlp, makes me just as gay as you being a pschotic murder for watching 'manly' war movies. Besides I find it offensive that you insult the homosexuals, by saying I am one of them.''

  • As an anthropology major interested in internet communication - I have to say that this is completely awesome, to see a presentation so well-researched, well put together, and entertaining. Would it be OK if I showed the analysis of deviance section at a gender equality club meetings on my campus? Thanks!

  • This entire ballad was both wonderfully interesting and wholly informative, It's great to actually learn something about the Brony culture (of which I'm only a fledgling I'll admit), Great Job!

  • Who's the artist who did the picture at 1:43-1:45?

  • Where can I get a link to the pic at 2:08 ?

  • I salute you for your dedication to the community, sir.

  • Fantastic! Really enjoyed this and should be seen by all bronies as well as those who wish to non objectively judge us. Maybe there will be a day when a brony like me can come out of the stable, till then a brohoof to you sir for making my morning 20% cooler in 5 acts flat.

  • Wonderfully done. A great testament to the fandom and the show.

  • you sir are awesome

  • I tip my hat to you sir, this presentation is fantastic. Perhaps now we can just point those who wonder "Why?" to our fandom to your video.

  • For everypony wondering the last song (10:39) is Your gonna go far kid.

  • Wow, just watched the whole series, and this was really well done. Thank you so much for doing this.

  • Best documentary I've ever seen, my upmost respect is for you fellow Brony :)

  • thank you sir for creating a... well doc on mlp! love it!!!

  • 8:59 NO WAY!!! THAT IS MINE, AWESOME!!!!!!!!

  • @TomA6297 That one is my favorite :P

  • @Saberspark I am glad my work is out there and I am happy you like it :D

  • @TomA6297 Ya it's amazing!!!!

  • Sorry to ask this but i carnt find it whats the song in the credits Q.Q?

  • I read "Ballad of the Brony" and thought "If it isn't a song, I'm gonna click something else"... and now I'm here having watched all parts of it, lol.

Wonderful job on this, it was interesting and entertaining at the same time. Two thumbs- uh, hooves up ^.^

  • yes i keep it a secret by wearing a rainbow dash cutout in my hat and a Brony shirt "be quiet tho i dont want anyone to know" =P

  • Comment removed

  • /watch?v=t4B4XpSilIs

    For you :)

  • Wow, this presentation was just awesome!

Makes me even more proud to be a brony! /)*(\

  • 1:56. *grin*

  • That was a great presentation. Very well done!

  • Btw I do understand brines I have tons of fRiends that are bronies............. Too many...

  • A reason they don't like all of you is cuz you went from a normal human being to an odd happy guy loving a show for little girls. Jus saying. I WANT to be normal.

  • Awesome presentation, and I'm not just saying that from a biased perspective.

  • What was the VERY last song in the credits? something about rhyming "dance" and "chance"

  • @rylog8 If you're talking about the song playing during the credits, it's the 500 sub brony appreciation medley by NRGFORCE. It's based off of the song "Golden Age of Video".

  • I love the show...but what makes me stop in the middle of the day and jsut think is how brony's could possibly be the most tolerating loving and respectful group on the internet ever.

thank you Lauren Faust and your amazing team

    and thank you fellow brony's!

  • Way to support the franchise man

  • This made me so proud that I cried! TwT

If anyone out there can help me, I'd really like to know the song played during the credits. Thanks!

  • @Yasha13 i was teary through the whole thing! manly tears of pride, i didn't quite realise until now how awesome it is to be a brony, Brohoof! The song is brony appreciation medley, it's in the annotations if you didn't notice. also Saberspark, awesome job, i wish i was there to see you do that presentation live, how did people take it? did some cheer you on? did they laugh at you? anyway, this was great and i congratulate you on the work, may we all become bronies someday!

  • Oh, I was researching about the staff of mlp, the origins, and the fanbase, then I found this video which probably saved me about, 10 hours of studying...now...I need to get around to my many writing projects of mlp...ciao~! and thanks again! *Subscribes*

    -iamadogdemon the creative brony

  • well... this journey has been great with you, i am glad that this is on my recommendation vids and im so happy that i subbed you too see what youre going to post next, like us Bronies always say; Keep Calm and Brony On ^_^

  • Wanna know how awsome bronies are? John De Lancie himself pretty much said that we out fannon STAR TREK! BROHOOFS ARE IN ORDER!

  • YOU HAAAVE TO MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT THE TUMBLR PONIES!~

  • @TomHuronJr I completely forgot about them! UGH! Okay, they are on the list for the Community Spotlight. Thank you for reminding me!

  • Some one like me who is searching for what im good at and looking for the talent that i know I have. I signify with mlp! For the pure creative genius and creativity of the community! I can not draw, I can not make music, I canot be artistic. But the mlp fanbase gives me the hope to continue pushing forward and to find all the artistic value I have so I can find my place to create the art I so adore in the world and the fanbase! So thank you everyone for that hope! So I can one day create to!

  • waitwatitwaitwaitwait- staying home from work JUST to watch MLP:FIM? No. *insert huge rage-rant about stupid fox news people here*

Please can we just clockwork orange-style strap these people down and make them watch the show? PLEASE?? Saturdays are fun again because of it...

  • This was incredible Saberspark! I was browsing the PoW forums when I saw your thread, and I was immediately intrigued with this project. I don't think you could have done a better job than what was surfaced here. I wholeheartedly tip my hat to your creativity, and personal shout-outs to the entirety of the Brony community.

  • We bronies are here to stay my friend. We are here to stay!

  • Have all of my Applesause!

This was really great! *Subbed!* ;) I'll link this on a message board I hang on.

  • I came into this expecting to watch a bit of the first part. I ended up here, around a hour later. Easily one of, if not the most entertaing and informative school projects I have ever seen. That 110% was well deserved. Subscribed.

  • From what music is 10:39 taken?

  • Change that rocks the foundation of society itself? Let's do this!! LEEROOOOOOOY WIIIIIINGKINS!!

  • A very well made series of films that not only go in depth further than KnowYourMemes, but points out the flaws of both sides with a solid argument! there is no reason to hide what you truly love, this show just didn't happen to have a fanbase to start with. I am glad to be part of it and I do wish I had more talents than gmodding stop motion to bring to this community like music and art, but I do my part best I can. I personally thank you for this video and everything you have said is true!

  • Dude you made one AWESOME little video series! This is a Perfect video for explaining MLP and Bronys.

  • From 8:05 to 11:19 O_O . . . That . . was . . . INCREDIBLE!! The entire presentation was funny and informative but you achieved what few, if any, have ever done. You made a credits sequence an enjoyable wrap-up that compliments and demonstrates the point of the presentation!

  • I want to thank you for taking your time going through all this research.

It was a long watch, but really worth it.

Your voice is entertaining and everything was extremely well put together.

Gratz on your 110%, you have truly earned it :)

  • Im an anthropology major (WHO ADORES MLP!) and this has to be the coolest thing I have ever seen! This reminds me of a paper I did recently "The cyclical nature of deviance and social construction" and this is the PERFECT example of socially created deviance! I love this!!!!!! I want to have your babies lmao!

  • @boardertotheline O_o Thank you!

  • 1:53

Are you kidding me? Is that actually Seth Green here?! o.o

  • In which episode did the music at the end, right BEFORE the appreciation medley appear?

  • you sir. have my respect. *salute*

  • @VittleVoom FOR EQUESTRIA!

  • @LeQuack147 That actually sounds hilarious, especially if it goes something like this. Hater: Ponyfag! I'm gonna teabag your cor- (BANG) *Walks over hater's corpse* You: "Years of Applebuckin'."

  • Very informative, and comprehensive. Given the extent of it's somewhat grim past, I'm somewhat surprised something so different came out from it. Thanks go to Lauren and everyone else who made it, that it did happen.

Anyhow.. best spent hour in ages; watching this

  • Fox News! I am shocked! And I like you guys!

  • 1:51 OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!

GTPlanet bronies FTW! I made the one with the black and gold mane.

  • @fanofdiesel ^_^ Thanks for the art!

  • @Saberspark I only made that one pony, unitoone made the picture.

  • @Saberspark

Actually, that was my work =)

Thank you for this epic presentation!

  • Bravo! This is truly an excellent documentary on the show and its fanbase and I would say that it is so well put together that even non bronies could appreciate and enjoy watching this.

  • An excellent hour documentary about the history of My Little Pony, bronies, and how society views bronies in both perspectives of loving and hating the show. Lovers and haters of bronies who watched this, I hope you guys enjoyed the history and culture of bronies shown here. Bronies always accept new members to the herd with open hooves!

P.S. I hope you got an great grade for this project! It is A+ worthy!

    A faithful brony,

    Twi- er, Cmndrkool321

  • This was great, but you talk about bronies like they are all obsessed and stuff. I'd say most bronies are people who just "like the show". I see that you probably tilted this fanbase to the extreme side a little to make it a strong topic for your project, which turned out really well, except after watching this I feel "further apart" from mainstream society, like instead of just being a guy who watches mlp, I am a "brony".

  • @FRUMindsEye I understand. It's like saying that not all people who enjoy Star Wars are die hard nerds. I was just highlighting the fans who love the show, are openly supportive of it, and want to show their appreciation. There are definitely a large number of those who just dabble in MLP and prefer to keep it to themselves. Closet Bronies perhaps? Hard to say. If you watch the show and leave it at that, I call you a viewer. It's hard to draw a line though. Perhaps this calls for some research..

  • This was great, man. Thank you for making this!

  • HNNNGH need source for that first derpy pic from the end!

  • April Simpson: are you serious Aka you're full of shit

  • This video was quality wise as good as numerous other sub-culture documentries I've been watching past my life. Excellent work, that's all I can say.

As for the response where we can go, I'm quoting myself once again from previous cooments on EQD: We can basically go almost anywhere and beyond, just like the European cartoonist are able to do with Donald Duck (seek artist "Don Rosa" for example). However, due our modern technology, the material we produce and the distribution will be different.

  • wow just wow thank you for doing this

  • Gotta say, that was fucking amazing.

  • *brohoof* Amen dude, amen.

  • What is the last Tune in the credits? can anybody tell me?

Please. Please, Please, Please, Please, Please! *rarityface*

  • @TainakaRicchan

    Go to 8:07

and click the link in the bottom right corner of the video.

  • When this video ended, I started applauding. Now, I start on a crusade to get all my friends to watch it!

  • Quality of that video is amazing.

  • This was amazing! Thank you so much for doing this wonderful video, that was masterfully done and probably took a lot of hard work.. This sums up everything about how I feel about MLP: FIM without being sounding so crazy whenever I try to explain it to someone.

Now I have a sudden urge to make something pony related to wear so that someone will recognize my love for the show. And maybe make a few friends. :D

  • All of this. This is perfectly and exactly what the anime community had to pull up with.

I am a brony, and i like anime aswell. Deviant if you want, i dont mind, i just dont see why norms get annoyed by these interrests? Why is it so?

  • lucky me i like friendship is magic... i wouldn't go against the fandom for all butter in Småland.

  • This is absolutely awesome! This is not only a treat for Bronies but also an interesting insight into the phenomenon that is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and the Bronies for any other person! This is something I could probably see as a documentary! It has even made me feel a little more confident and unashamed of being a Brony! You have done a great thing by making this, you really have.

    Brohoof!

  • This was amazing I cant usually sit throught long vids like tthese when im this tired, but this was so interesting and knowledgeable that I couldnt go to bed till I watched the whole thing. Brohoof this was awesome.

  • God Fox News is the most Bigoted place ever! brohoof man brohoof /)*(\. i love every bit of it and it makes wanna spread the pony culture even farther!

  • *huge round of applause*

Brilliantly done, I wholeheartedly agree. You covered every nook and cranny of the fandom and I have to say, it was spot on. Fantastic. I hope this will provide a better insight for people who want to know more or are just curious.

Let's keep this going, y'all. Never stop the pony. <3

  • That Fox news clip was Fox 2 news, my Local fox station in St. louis, I recognized April Simpson

  • @gamers209 Unless she does other shit

  • 3:02 Canada's hauling out the "Pain Train".

  • Is there an MP3 of the ending song? Anywhere? I need it please, my body demands it!

  • @filiecs3

    Wait, got it. Nevermind.

  • Ah, that felt good. Excellent presentation!

  • I will love and tolerate any challenge before us bronies as we have before and hopefully someday the day will come when we wont be judged by others, but that day will only come when we all work together.

  • i have never been ashamed to be a brony, i talk about it everyday and i wear the merch and practically everyone who knows me knows im a brony. a lot of people think im really weird and jump to assumptions but i keep representing because i one, have never given two shits about what people think of me, and two, will always show pride and stand up for what i believe in and what makes me me. brony for life

  • After watching this I feel so amazing being a brony!

  • i dont know if i have ever felt more proud to be a brony then i was after watching this

  • See, this is why I love being a brony. For years, I felt alone and miserable in the world. But with the direct blasts of sugar every Saturday, and the companionship and support of the rest of the fandom, I'm not alone anymore.

Thankyou bronies, for probably saving my life. :)

  • This documentary put a big smile on my face and made me proud to be a part of this downright wonderful community!

The "Like" and "Favorite" won't be enough at all. Every brony should watch this!

  • I really want to get my friend to give this show a try, but I did some nice FiM little drawings for myself out of free time, and I showed him them... and he judged me and said ''My Little Pony is stupid, you shouldnt be watching it." He won't even let me tell him or explain whats its like, and just judged it right there. Because of him, I now scared of even saying anything about it to him, since I think hes too judgemental.

I wish I could show these videos to him... sigh.

    Loved the vids tho

  • @Klonoa7H You have my sympathies. It can be tough to handle stuff like that, and in particular to develop the confidence to stand strong in the face of opposition.

    Some points of advice:

1)Never be ashamed, never back down. Even if you have to start off by saying "It's okay not to like it", never show that that opinion makes it hard for you to talk about it.

2)Remind him that if he hasn't seen it, he can't knock it. If he doesn't want to watch it, that's fine.(Continued)

  • Youtube will not let me like this enough. These videos truly make me proud to be a brony.

  • Amazing videos. It's like you were saying what we were all thinking.

  • There are no words to describe how amazing this is.

  • Saberspark, you have done a beyond excellent job on this presentation! I almost can't explain the great feeling of immense pride I have for this community and you lead me to see that. I read a previous video comment that you responded to saying that if you could compile these Acts into a single video feed; I do wish to show everyone I know about what MLP truly is and that it's not another kid's show that a bunch of men watch. We are more than that, we are Bronies!Thank you for making this video!

  • As an outsider looking into your sub-culture, I must say, though I'm not a Brony, I think what you guys have is great and is a wonderful thing

  • The hatred directed at bronies is part of the fun for me. Hearing someone on Black Ops rage at my Applejack emblem just makes the whole day better.

  • Excellently put together! Your series was well balanced and interesting, and very informative.

  • just finished watching, oh my god i loved every single minute of it. i felt like i learned alot about the show & my fellow bronies that i had no idea of before. you did a fantastic job & i hope you got the best grade out of your entire class. of all the best possible things that could happen, this is THE. BEST. POSSIBLE. THING. i just cant wait to write to princess celestia about what you taught me today. so thank you very much for making this, and may celestia bless your life with friendship :D

  • HOLY SHIT. SAYAINTJIMMY IS IN MY BF3 PLATOON. We play all the time... Dude small world or something

  • @Wheelz567 yeah! He is my right hand man when it came to this project. I wouldn't have been able to do it without him.

  • @Saberspark I was watching this (linked from ISMBOFepicly's subscription), admiring its profound professionalism, loved the way you wrapped it up, then i see your credits when u mentioned jimmy and was all :o I KNOW THAT GUY (at least sorta, since we've only spoken over XBL). but still!!! WHY CAN'T WE ALL LIVE NEARBY!!! I would have loved to have helped you guys. I only know one brony IRL, and that's only cuz i converted him.

  • @Wheelz567 Saiyaintjimmy is baws for this dude.

  • heh, watching this... it's true that we are already "making the world more like equestria"

  • well done...I think this is the most meaningful thing i have seen in a long time.

  • Again, thankyou for having made this, this was awesome and made me rethink all this once more.

It made me realise to a new extent how much this community and MLP FIM has changed my life.. I never felt a sense of patriotism for my country/religion(or any group) in all my life..

But I feel pride and patriotism(I know, it refers to country, but ya know what I mean) for this community and I would stand up to people in RL to defend it. So yea...

Brony's, stay proud and let us admit who we are.

  • @Saberspark A great end to a great series of acts. Somewhere, I'm sure that the MLP: FiM staff will probably watch this and smile with glee knowing that there are as many dedicated fans that took the time to make a retrospective of a great show while also noting the history of Brony culture and where it may go in the future. Once again sir, great job.

  • WOOOOT BRONYDOM!

  • Finally, I have something to point people to when they ask why I'm a brony. You, sir, win ALL THE THINGS. #bronyandproud

  • 3:03 With all due respect, Canadians are still legally allowed to stand on the front lawn of the White House brandishing Clubs, Axes and Torches, if they want to wish the President a happy birthday.

  • There is not a single thing you did wrong here. AMAZING!!!!!

  • Do we HAVE to love and tolerate fox? Can't there be an exception?

  • Such a well done project! I applaud your contribution to the brony community good sir! I tip my hat in your general direction.

  • This whole thing is just simply amazing. BROHOOF!

  • Well, that described everything perfectly.

  • That was phenomenal! Was this done for high school or university?

  • im at a loss of words. I can see all the time and work you put into this documentary. Now, compile all the acts into one documentary; sell it via interweb. Seriously. Like, a dollar or something. You would make like.... dozens of dollars

keep up the great work man

  • Instant sub dude !

    TY :3

  • Thank you.

  • I honestly started to tear up toward the end of this. ;)

  • I always had a hard time explaining to my friends and everyone else why I like the show. This project has every possible answer and more.

  • A day may come when the love of ponies fades, when we forsake our show and break all bonds of friendship...

But it is not this day!

A time of intolerance and hatred when the age of My Little Pony comes crashing down.

But it is not this day!

Because on this day we watch a new episode!

By all that you hold dear in this fandom, I bid you bronies of the internet FOR EQUESTRIA!

  • Absolutely fabulous! Thank you so much for creating these! They'll help a lot when I try to explain the fandom to others!

  • you forgot the fan fiction!

  • Greatest credits EVER!

  • Oh my god, this was amazing.

After watching this project, I have to say I have a new-found respect for ALL of my fellow bronies, and has even taken me one step closer to coming out of the brony closet.

Keep on going, guys. We are SO awesome.
