Lol that sux. If u want some advice: On this map u should make the recruitable lv5 hero from sorceress guild ur main hero and put roland in a boat in the small sea map lake (summon boat). Roland will apriciate the peaceful days at sea and u have one less worry.

Having townportal and atleast dimension door is very helpful. Used phoenix and other sorceress mobs mostly for cleaning up, and towards the end upgrading giants as its very expensive. Armageddon and antimagic gives 1man army of giant

The key to the HOMM series is speed. If you wait too long, the computer will dominate you.

They key is to get money producing buildings first and then higher tier units ASAP. Go on the offensive as soon as you have a powerful army and retreat as necessary. Ultimately, the key is to learn from your mistakes and enjoy playing the game.

HOMM2 raised me. HOMM3 nurtured. HOMM4 was shit. HOMM5 is okay, but a little too munchkin.

On the contrary.

If I remember right, the AI had some moronic moves like blinding/paralyzing some of player's units and next turn dispelling it. It would repeat the same shit all over again wasting all of it's mana in couple of turns. I wouldn't call that 'excellent use of spells' really.

About the vid now: player could win both fights if he used spells effectively. He didn't even bless his titans after they got cursed.

It had an expansion set, I didnt bought it. Later, recently, i bought the Heroes Collection (homm1,2,3,4 & expansions) The expansion for Homm2 is... bad... very bad.

You can do the last mission without buying more than 1 phoenix and a few sprits... you can do the last mission using nothing but the army you can build up in the second last map... U just blitz the last mission in the time it takes you to sail to Archibalds castle...

I'd believe you, I beat it in under 200 days before. It's a lot slower than Archibald's though which can be done in about 160 (and is more fun IMO cause it requires more strategy.

No. Mass slowed griffins wont reach you in one turn which gives your titans time to shoot the heck out of them without being smaked bu their unlimited retaliations. You need to understand the basic concept of playing defense when clearly overpowered. NEVER attack first with low HP units (boars). Skip if you have to. Use Golems. Slow minotaurs are to be berserked. Dont waste a 400 dmg shot by ur archmagi pack on their 2 archmagis = HP 56. Elemental only when minos reach your side of screen.

that's not the case, try it again.

As a general rule of thumb, you should always play defense when your ranged units are much more numerous than the enemy. Playing defense means you begin the fight using "mass slow" and hit "skip" with most, if not all of your walkers.

The exception may only be a fight vs red/black dragons since they can't be slowed, and vs phoenixes since they can still reach u even when mass slowed.
