  • I have been watching your vids, awesome playing and fat tone vintage guitars.. There is a Levin for sale on ebay, LEVIN PARLOR GUITAR Vintage 1953 Model 28 Nevada Do you think this would be a good guitar for the asking price. Your experience with vintage parlors is much appreciated. Thanks

  • Hei, hei.

  • very cool sounding gitboxes. I need one!

  • @wordtide

Get one!! They're cool, old and cheap(sort of)

  • @BottleneckJohn I'd love one love these Levin's. Do you want to sell one?

    cheers,

    Rick

  • wonderful sounding little boxes played by a blues mamster. I really enjoy listening to your music. Have you tried republic parlor guitars? How much a levin would cost? I've got to get one those...

  • Hi John, loving these old guitars and have searched high and low but not many coming up in my part of the world, you clearly have too many wanna sell me one?

  • Hey, nice video.

What do you know about the new Levins? They appear to have some nice, handcrafted ones on their website, but do they compare to the older models? Thank you.

  • Thanks!!

I have no idea about the new so called "Levin" models?!

  • Mr. Bottleneck. I've been searching for the perfect starter to carry around with me to learn some bottleneck and finger picking blues. Naturally I ran into your stuff and have been amazed by the spirit in your music. Any recommendations for a first blues travel guitar for me? Been looking at a Republic Miniolian. Any guidance would be wonderful. And thanks for the inspiration man.

  • Hey RamblerCustom!

I'm very happy to hear those nice comments on my music, thanks a lot!

Well, a Miniolian is truly a great traveller's companion, it's light weight and sounds really cool. Sturdy too!

I guess a small bodied parlor size like these would be fine too..

Good luck and keep checking back this way!!

  • Wow! Many thanks for your very swift reply. Thanks your expert advice- means a lot. I've been looking at regular parlors too, as you suggested. Would you have any to recommend that are in a starter's budget? Something new or something vintage? Perhaps off of ebay? Thanks again! Ever get to LA or to the midwest USA? I'm goin to see Catfish Keith in Iowa City on Friday.

  • You always see a good number of parlor guitars on eBay, get one there, they can be really cheap too!!! GOOD LUCK!!

  • Very interesting videos! The 1918 is my favorite (after your cool voice!).

  • Thanks Vikingbeard!

Good to have you here watching my clips!

The 1918 is cool, my fav is the 1907!!

  • Hi John,

  • I like the way you playing you medleys !

    Great guitars....in your hands !

    Take care

  • Thanks!!!!

    They're great guitars indeed!!

  • Hi John....nice guitars....and they sound amazing!

I work as a Ships Agent here in Halifax Nova Scotia and we look after the Atlantic Container Lines (ACL) vessels coming from Gothenburg to Liverpool to Halifax etc and one of the European port calls is Gothenburg and most of the crew are from there as well so I guess I will have to be asking some of the crew if they could find me one of these fine examples of a guitar..

    Thanks

    for posting

  • Hey Kevin!!

Thanks for watching this, I really think that you should ask your buddies to find you a guitar while here!

If you want I can help out, you can buy one from me, haha!! :)

    Stay well,

    BJ

  • That maybe possible..how much and which one...can you send me pics?

    Thanks

    Kevin

  • I'll have a look in the "sales-department" and get back to you, it might take a while though...

Pics can be sent of course, later on then!

  • Tja! Vilken "gitarrårgång" gillar du bäst? Grymt lirat!

  • Tackar!

Spelmässigt så föredrar jag de på den andra videon, årgångarna 1918-1907..

Men alla har sin egen röst och de här 1946-1932 funkar jäkligt bra till slide..!!

  • lika fantastiskt att höra dig spela varje gång.. otroliga instrument. rock on

  • Tjena Daniel!

Tack för berömmet och tack för att du kollar in mina videoklipp!!

    Ha det fint,

    BJ
